Chapter 31:

ARCHIVE ENTRY 3: THE FINDINGS OF THE CAULDRON ISLES ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE TEAM

The Beastman Saint is H*rny, so I was Kidnapped to Another World Vol. 9

To the Head of the Scholars’ Committee and the Director of the Royal Academy

Greetings!

It is with great joy and excitement that we write to you to report an unusual find among the ruins of the Cauldron Isles Palace site. Two days ago, our archaeology team unearthed an ancient plaque made of iron-mithril (the alloy that was widely-used during the early days of the Kingdom of Cherwind). Upon thoroughly cleaning and examination, we discovered several etchings on its surface, and by its position and composition, we highly-suspect that it is something of a narrative. So we sent for the Chief Librarian of the Serpentinus Archives, Professor Roche of the East Ursus to confirm our hunches.

Our suspicions turned out to be true. It is, indeed, a plaque casted to commemorate a seemingly important event in the Kingdom of Cherwind’s mysterious past. Professor Roche also determined that the inscriptions are actually Old Beastman Latin Letters—the alphabet that was said to have been used by the common beastmen peoples of the ancient times.

However, things started to get even stranger here.

Professor Roche brought in his team of ancient text translators to decode the narrative of the inscription. These are their findings:

This plaque is erected in memory of the soldiers and fox tribesmen

Who fought and died in the Battle for the Cauldron in the first year

Of Ursura, Queen of the Beastmen and Kuro the God-King’s reign.

May their souls find eternal peace forever,

Their deaths brought forth an era of peace and prosperity.

Yes, you read that right. There’s this ‘Kuro the God-King’ character in the inscription. We are currently searching the Serpentinus Library archives for anything about this person, but so far, the search produced nothing. Who is ‘Kuro the God-King’? Why is he missing in all the folk songs and epics of the Beastmen people? Can this be the ‘third person’ one of our scholars have been proposing to exist before?

Please write back as soon as you received this letter. If this turned out to be true, this could be a big news!
