“Mayutan... If I can make use of that brain of his, completing the brainwashing weapon may no longer be just a dream...”

From the black palace towering atop Nyaverest, Undo gazed coldly down upon the world below.

“B-but Lord Undo! I’m still developing the brainwashing weapon—the Matatabi Turbine...”

Seiji looked up at Undo with desperation written all over his face.

“Seiji, you’re incapable of it... You’re nothing but an incompetent old fool! I thought you might be of some use since you were a psychiatrist back when you were human... but I have no need for you anymore!”

Undo fixed Seiji with an icy stare and sharply pointed an index finger at him.

Before Seiji even had time to scream, he was vaporized without a trace.

“Bun'ei... Do you know of an effective way to abduct Mayutan?”

Undo fixed Bun'ei with a piercing stare, as though he were looking at nothing more than a disposable tool.

“Y-yes, Lord Undo. I know just the one for the job.”

Bun'ei rubbed his hands together as he spoke, looking up at Undo with the cringing, servile expression of a man desperate to please someone more powerful than himself.

“I see... Tell me where this individual is. I’ll personally put them under a spell. You fools are utterly useless.”

“Y-yes, my lord.”

Bun'ei made the image of a Steller’s sea eagle appear inside a crystal ball.

“Th-this Steller’s sea eagle kidnapped Tanimaki to feed her chick. But then Mayutan and Debiru rescued him... and the chick starved to death. Heh heh heh...”

Bun'ei’s face twisted into an ugly grin.
