The Squad Story

//As Mika searches the traffic database, he finds footage of the tanker and SUV from that night.

Mika: Everyone, come her quick, this looks like it might be the tanker and SUV. And there is another car waiting for them just outside the warehouse. I’ll zoom in on the license plates.

Hana: That’s a very fancy looking car.

Aiya: It may belong to a Royal, they have a very exotic collection of vehicles.

Mika: So, it looks like the tanker and SUV just have regular commercial license plates, but this other car definitely has a vanity license. Looks like it reads SLYRSQD1…. Slayer Squad 1?

Hana: What did you just say?

Mika: Slayer Squad 1?

Hana: No, it can’t be just a coincidence. I’ve heard that name before. They were the group responsible for what happened to Master Shin and why he is at the Monastery.

Aiya: Then Master Shin might have some answers for us.

Hana: Yes, we should go talk with him.

//The gang heads out to the Monastery and along the way Hana tells them the story behind Master Shin’s past and the connection with the Slayer Squad.

Slayer Squad Story – Hana recalls the story of how Master Shin was ambushed by two of his former students who were led astray by the leader of an organization called the Slayer Squad. Hana could never get Master shin to talk about the events, but it almost cost him his life. It was rumored that the leader was a member of the Royal family, who was obsessed with gaining control of the Royal House. The ultimate goal of this organization was to overthrow the King, but when this was discovered by the King, the Simetra where dispatched to eliminate the group. There was a bloody battle that ensued between the Slayer Squad and the Simetra, and the leader of the Slayer Squad was captured and brought back to the Royal Castle where he was eventually executed.

//As gang arrive at the gates of the Monastery, Aiya has a worried look on her face.

Mika (talking to Aiya): Are you okay?

Aiya: Something doesn’t seem quite right…. (she hesitates for a moment)… We should keep going, we need to get to Master Shin quickly.

Hana: This way, we will most likely find him in the dojo meditating.

//They make their way to the dojo and Hana very quietly opens the door to take a peek.

Hana (Whispers): Shhh, he’s here meditating, (she smiles) I’m going to try and sneak up on him.

//Hana opens the door and takes one step inside the dojo when…

Master Shin: You walk like a herd of Water Buffalo. I could hear you from the moment you entered through the gates.

//Hana has an embarrassed look on her face.

Hana: Tsk, must you ruin everything.

//Master Shin stands up and Hana runs over to embrace him.

Hana: I’ve missed you so much Master!

Master Shin: I as well.

//Master Shin then turns toward Aiya.

Master Shin: And you are even more beautiful than your sister had described. I also sense a very strong warrior spirit.

//Hana is even more embarrassed now. She then bows her head and speaks softly.

Hana: Master, I am very sorry, but I must ask you about the events that occurred just before your arrival at the Monastery.

// Aiya is suddenly sensing impending danger and whisper to Mika.

Aiya: Mika, stay close to me.

//Master Shin also senses something unusual.

Master Shin: Hana, I will answer your questions soon, but first I must ask you to get behind me.

Hana: What? What’s going on?

Aiya: Hana, please do as Master Shin has requested.

//All of a sudden, several Ninja soldiers drop from the rafters and surround the group. The brother and sister are also there.

Sister: Leave the old man for me. Eliminate the others!

//A battle ensues and Aiya deflects two knifes that were aimed at Mika, but a third knife sticks her in the arm. Being the warrior that she is so removes the knife and throws it back at one of the Ninja soldiers killing him. Master Shin quickly eliminates three other Ninja soldiers. Hana is fighting the brother and has him trapped in the corner ready to strike a lethal blow. The sister sees the brother in need of help and shots a poison dart at Hana. Master Shin sees the dart and knocks Hana out of the way, but he is unable to evade the dart himself and is struck in the chest by the dart. Hana rushes to Master Shin’s side.

Hana: Master, NO!! Why is this happening!!

//Aiya and Mika rush over to Master Shins side also. In all the commotion the sister gathers up the brother and leaves the Monastery.

Sister: Take him to the safe house and have the good doctor tend to him again.

//The sister then looks toward the sky and says…

Sister: Father I have finally avenged your death….

//Back inside the Monastery, Hana and the others are kneeling beside Master Shin who is find it hard to breath. Master Shin grabs Hana’s hand.

Master Shin: The fates have caught up to me once again. This time there will be no escaping. My dear Hana, the answer you seek can be found at the Cemetery in my old village on the 3rd day of each month.

Hana: What am I’m to look for? Who…

//Just then Master Shin smiles and right before his last breath he says…

Master Shin: The answer will be expecting you, it will be waiting for you…

//Master Shin then closes his eyes and passes away peacefully into the night…

Hana: Master No, please don’t leave me!!

//Aiya lifts Hana from the ground and hugs her tightly.

Aiya: I am truly sorry sister. I know he was special to you, a very dear and close friend.

Hana (wiping the tears away): He was not only my Sensei, but my only true friend. He gave purpose and meaning to my life when I had none, he showed me how to care again, how to be human again.
