I walked through the hallway and into the main room. And there he was — Ren Morales. He was sitting at the dining table, wearing the same loungewear he was wearing a moment ago. He was tapping at his laptop — actually, this reminds me of my very first morning here.

“Oh? Good afternoon, Camryn.”

“Yes! Good morning to you too, Ren!”

I was more cheerful. I was a bit louder, my voice sounded peppier, and my smile was wider — not to mention genuine.

And Ren… Well, he sounds as monotone as ever, and his dead fisheyes look the same. Except, he sounded slightly different… Like, his voice was less stern, and his face was more relaxed… I feel extremely comfortable with how he is now — his expressionlessness adds to his charms.

This little moment… This moment where Ren’s sneakily smiling and I’m happily laughing along… It’s a good feeling! We’re so frivolous, and we have nothing to worry about. It’s so different, but it’s so great!

“But really, you should eat. After, we should go to Beattie’s Heart.”
