Chapter 3:

Chapter 3 The Dwelling timber

Back to the stone

I wake up but I still keep my eyes shut tight “It was a dream I’m still in my house sleeping on my bed” I say as I hope, but suddenly I hear a scream coming towards me so I open my eyes and jump out of the way of the scream owner, I look at the scream owner and guess what I see, I see a real Dodo. “What the--” I say when the Dodo collapses next to my campfire, so I put it on a stone that looks like a platform. Then I go out to gather wood again, after I’ve come back the wood is ready to build. But then I realized that I haven’t had breakfast yet so I went out (again) to find some plants or fruits that I could eat. Then I spot an apple tree so I just run up to it and start climbing, three minutes later I have a real breakfast since I’ve arrived into the Stone age, when I’m done I walk back to the cave but then I spot vines,

“I can use that as glues to keep the logs together and I can use it to make baskets so I don’t have to come out gathering apples everyday” I think with excitement, an hour later I have a basket full of apples and 30 vines to tie my house together. When I’m back at the cave it’s around noon, so I don’t want to waste any time. Basically I start building a house even though I don’t even know how to make a paper airplane. First step: music, hey! Don’t judge me, I need music to do something ok? Second step: building time. So that’s how

William Hertford builds his house, THE END! No, no, no, no, you can’t end like this. I'm not even back to my timeline yet so it’s not the end. Okay back to work, after an hour and a half I finally finish the walls, now I need to make a door. New problem found! I need a hinge to make the door work. “It’s ok, we need to make stone pickaxe then we can mine irons” I say to myself then realize that this is not Minecraft. “Plan C? No, I think it’s time for...no planning time!” I say then I look around only to find my solution, vines! “I can use vines to attach the door then I can pull some kind of mechanic so that I can make the vines pull the door up!” I say to myself (again and again). It’s working time. 3 hours later, I have a somewhat working door that can open and shut. Then I notice the Dodo from this morning is still on the stone I put him on even though he’s awake, “You’re not going eh?” I ask the bird, it just says “Doooooo” to answer me “I guess you’re staying then” I say then go out to gather wools to make beds (Minecraft logic time!). When I come back from hunting sheep I have only three pieces of wool (really, killing sheep by throwing stones at them doesn't really help. Okay?), “Great now I need fur or maybe cotton” I say but it’s almost night time now, so I just make fires with my flint and my belt bucket then I just fall asleep there next to the campfire with a Dodo (who would think?). The next day I get up and go out to find a cottonwood (a type of tree that gives out cotton) immediately. Finally I found a cotton tree, so I climb up the tree and get some cotton for my bed (with some extras, in case I want a pillow). When I return to the cave, I get to work on my bed inside my temporary/permanent house. I find some sharp small stones that have holes in it to use as a needle, then I use leftover vines as silks and I start doing my least favorite work, sewing. While I’m sewing my bed sheet I sing the song YMCA (don’t judge me please), when I’m finish I put the cottons I’ve got into my brand new not so good bed sheet, then it’s back to my favorite part, sewing (No, I’m just sarcaticing). When I’m finish my house is complete! “Okay! My house is finished, but a good house needs a name...hmm...got it! I’ll call my house the Dwelling timber!” I say to myself. Later that day I collect leaves from the surrounding trees to cover my house’s roof and make a nest for the Dodo, which I don’t have a name for yet. Then 4 hours later, my house plus a Dodo nest are complete.
