Chapter 941:

Fight

En Passant Grandmaster

Miyako trembled as she stared at the standings. "How!? How is this possible!? We never sat down and played chess!"

"You consented to correspondence chess," Vasily stated.

"Corre-what?"

"Correspondence. It means you send letters to each other to tell what piece was moved, or in our case, words," Imono snickered.

"You deceived me! You didn't frame it as a chess game!"

"Your fault for not noticing."

"No... You deliberately hid stuff from me! You only said we list coordinates from a-h, 1-8, with a letter in front of them! You never told me about capturing! You even told me I needed to make a specific move in order to "win", but that was the losing move!"

In the control room, Vasily smiled as he stroked his beard. "Not bad. But in here, I can choose whether truth or lie prevails, and today, I choose lie," he thought as he reached for the microphone. "The result stands. We the honorable staff of the Queenside Citadel detected NO foul play. Everything was completely legal!" he proclaimed.

Imono triumphantly smirked as Miyako sunk to her knees in despair.

"This is your own undoing. You should have been more alert," the black-haired woman scoffed as she prepared to face Arina.

"Rina, she honored the deal, so draw her," Imono called out.

Miyako's eyes bulged as she bolted her head up towards the black-haired woman. "Y- You were in on it?"

The black-haired woman rolled her eyes.

"ANSWER ME!"

"Use your own mind to think things out. That goes for everything here. You can't do that, you won't last," the black-haired woman snarled as she proceeded to draw Arina by repetition in under 5 moves.

"Now we're even on the scoreboard," Arina scoffed as she spat directly into Miyako's face.

"You... YOU HAIRLESS FREAK! I'LL KILL YOU!" Miyako shouted as she charged for Arina.

She managed to tackle her, but as she tried to get up, she found her body frozen.

"No... No, please no, not now!" she thought as Arina got to her feet and retaliated with a direct kick to the face, sending nearly all of Miyako's front teeth flying out.

the pain was immeasurable, yet Miyako was unable to scream, and forced to stay stationary, leaving her vulnerable for another assault.

"Stop it, you damn Russian!" Milady fumed as she slammed into Arina, sending her sprawling towards the floor.

"YOU WHORE! HOW DARE YOU! I HAVE A DELICATE BODY!" Arina raged as she got up and charged for Milady.

""Sturdy as ice", but I bet you've gone down on the ice hard more than you can count. That stuff's hard."

"What do you know about the ice!?"

"I'm on the American hockey team," Milady snarled as she landed a punch directly to Arina's face.

"MY FAE! MY ACE! U FAHCKER!" Arina screamed as she clutched her bleeding jaw.

"Oh? Can't take some shattered teeth? Then get off the ice. The ice is where we wage war, not dance."

"That's enough! Guards! Restore order!" Ivo's voice crackled through the loudspeaker.

Everyone stared up in confusion as this was not the voice they were used to hearing.

"And that is enough. Ladies, it seems the VIP I brought in to view your progress has been displeased by your acts of barbarity. Do try to restrain yourselves to mental warfare upon the chessboard from now on," Vasily snarled.

The room went quiet once more as everyone stared and looked at each other. Finding she could move again, Miyako clutched her jaw and charged for her cell.

"Stop. You will be given treatment," Vasily growled.

Though she still had free will over her body, the angry tone in Vasily's voice had Miyako frozen in place. "He's never sounded this furious before. Oh no, is he going to do something worse to me because his fun was interrupted?" she thought.

...

In the control room, Ivo coughed up blood as Vasily slugged him directly in the face, shattering his nose to bits. "Ivo, you don't interrupt me when I'm enjoying myself," Vasily coldly glared. "You are still a dear friend, so consider this a warning," he snarled as he grabbed Ivo by what little hair he had left.

Ivo panted and trembled, yet the glare in his eyes didn't waver.

"Ivo, my friend, are you asking me to gouge an eye out instead? My apologies, but I've already broken your nose, and we lack the technology to just heal it on the spot, so how about a two-for-one deal? Keep up that glare, and that's what you'll get," Vasily growled as he shoved Ivo to the ground. "Take him away."

The guards saluted and hoisted Ivo to his feet before dragging him out.

"You don't disrupt me here. THAT is the only rule that must never be broken here," Vasily thought.
