Faith In His Words

Lamina keep begging Tempest to stop and turn around to help her Master but the horse just in silent and keep running.

The witch didn't see Naruk anywhere behind them and Lamina was crying while holding Tempest's back, meaning that Naruk didn't make it, she couldn’t do anything but only hug her who was sobbing and then whispering in her ear "He'll be fine, sweetie. He'll be fine"

With Tempest's running speed and his agility, the horse can dodge and avoid the crack and the rock that fall above them and then the three of them managed to get out of the rumble zone by get in the tunnel that Phersi just pointed and stopped not far from the ruins.

Tempest finally able to control his body again with his will and then walked away looking for a safe place to rest.

The Witch get off from Tempest's back then helped Lamina down by carry her. After sitting Lamina on the rock, the witch crouched down and looked at her injured leg. Then she took something from the side bag she was carrying and took out a few small bottles.

"I can't use healing magic but I can treat a little bit, at least it can ease the pain" the witch say as she put some like powder from the bottle to her leg. "But to be honest, I didn't think it would turn out like this. I thought I would be easily if that guy helping me but instead is opposite……” she stop and then continue in whisper “…..Like always do"

Lamina heard it and looked at Phersi “Miss Phersi?”

Phersi looked at Lamina who was giving a worried look and gasp after realizing her voice is heard. “Ah!... I’m sorry you have to hear it. Just ignore it, okay?” she just smile to her. “Alright. Is done”

“I’m sorry…” Lamina look down again.

Phersi just tilted her head “Sorry for what, sweetie?”

“It's my fault, I'm too weak and it's because of my weakness that put us in this situation”

“Little Lady…..” Tempest snoring and look down.

Lamina sobbing again “Master….. he’s gone because saving me….. again and again and I can’t even do anything to help him back then”

Phersi still crouching in front Lamina whose eyes are teary “Hey…. Are you angry at yourself?” Lamina just nod slightly and the tears flowing down to her cheeks. Phersi put both her hand on Lamina cheeks then wipe her tears “Don’t blame yourself so hard like that, Lamina. I should be the one you should blame it. It’s because of my selfish that brought you guys into this trouble…. I’m…. I’m really sorry” Phersi look down “I though…… my vision ability to see the future is unmistakable now. But no matter how hard I try, the result is still the same as before……. Nothing change"

Lamina looked at Phersi who looked down again. Looks like she must be carrying something about her past that she doesn't want to remember "I'm sorry Miss Phersi, because my anger made you remember things you don't want...... I'm so scares of losing Master, because he takes care of me, he gave me food and drink and he gave me a name and a new life. He gave me everything that no one ever do to me"

Phersi look at Lamina and smiled gently "I know….. I know how you feeling, he really is a good master. I’m sure he’ll be okay. You should trust him. We will find him, I promise” Phersi put her forehead to Lamina's and smiled as she speak.

“Hmmm…..” Lamina smile for replied. Tempest approached Lamina who finally calm then lick her cheek and make her laugh.

“Alright, you finally calm. Now we need to find the way out of this cave" Phersi stood up then helped Lamina to stand up, the horse was lying on its stomach so Lamina could climb it easily after that Phersi used her spell to light the way then they start by walking.

Minutes before the collapse

“No…. no no, wait!.....Master!...... NO!!!” Lamina scream and fade away.

“Just go!. I’ll follow” I try to keep up with them but the ground beneath me collapse and make me fall “W-wo…. WOAH!!!”

When I fell along with the rubble I had a chance to see the bottom with my instincts and I immediately used my shield to minimize my impact.

"NGGHH!!" I feel my pain on my left hand and make me groaning but i don't have time for ease the pain because I saw a big rocks above me keep falling and I quickly stood up and hastily avoided all of them until I saw a small tunnel like a rabbit hole but for human and I decided to jump in there and slipped. I don't know where this little tunnel is taking me but rather than being buried alive in the ruins I'd rather take the chance to live even if it's small.

I kept slipping along the path of the tunnel until I fall into the fountain just below it and I think I managed to survive the ruins.

“Phew. That was close”

This room is not too dark because of the reflection of light from this water on the cave, the water is a bit glowing bright blue and for some reason I feel my strength is slowly recovering, even the pain in my left shoulder is no longer felt. Maybe it's some kind of healing pool or something. I looked at my health and mana bars and as expected they were completely full.

Then I came out of the healing pond (that's how I call it now) and looked around the cave. I used my flame sword skill and lit up the cave. There are shining crystal rocks on the walls of the cave which illuminate this place even more and the cave is truly beautiful.

"Woahh!.....What is this place?" I keep circling around this cave to look for clues. I used my instincts to look around this place and it seem there is no any monsters nearby. But really, I didn't know there was a healing pond under this mountain.

I took one crystal stone from the wall by hitting my shield against the wall and picked it up. This stone is so pretty, is more like crystal and I think Lamina will definitely like it, especially with her sentiments with stuff.

Then something suddenly hit my mind and I immediately remembered about the three of them still up there, especially Lamina.

"Lamina!" That girl was injured in leg for helping me. Of course I was grateful for that, but she was too rash and ended up hurting herself.

I saw their health bar. Lamina almost lost half of her health because her level still low from the monster and Tempest not do much damage but I don't know what about that witch. Their health had not decreased since the collapse earlier. Maybe Tempest managed to get them safely.

Thank god.

I took the water from the healing pond with my water bag after i throw away odinari water. I'm sure this water is a healing potion because when I inside the pool I felt my strength is recover. After I filled it full I started looking for a way to the top with my insting. I need to catch up with them, fast before something bad happens.

Half an hour had passed when they left the ruins, there was still no sign of the ants coming to chase after them again, maybe the ruins had managed to hold them back.

The three of them are still in the tunnel and still can't find a way out, because the ants had made the four of them enter the wrong tunnel and now Phersi can only rely on her instincts, she just hopes not to fight any monsters before finding Naruk.

“Miss Phersi” Lamina calling on beside her.

“Yes sweetie?”

“Why these ants are so big. Is there something happen to them?”

"This probably happened because the Wyverns infected them many years ago. When Zeus killed him, the gods didn’t want to responsible for dealing with the corpses and jut leaving it. For years humans had suffered with the stench but not for the insects. They might be eaten Wyverns corpses wich is full of magic and ended up making them like this"

“Is that happen to another monster?”

“Apparently” Soon they saw a light at the end of the tunnel “I see a light in front of us. Might be a way out” She put her hand down and the light is fade away from her hand.

“I see that too, let’s get out of here”

While walking towards the light, Phersi felt something sneaking behind them and when she looked behind she saw a giant centipede circled the tunnel trying to prey on Lamina. She glare at it as Lamina and Tempest were distracted by the way out Phersi used that chances to use her magic and suddenly the giant centipede dried up as the woman raised her hand towards the thing and finally turned the centipede into ashes and nothing left.

Lamina notice it and asking “What wrong, Miss Phersi?”

The witch look at Lamina “Is nothing” Then she just smile as usual

They finally manage find the way out of the tunnel, right now they in a very large room and the light that they saw is coming through the hole above the room. In that room, there’s a lot big wasp flying around.

Lamina couldn't help but be amazed “Whoa……!” her voice are echoing and almost draw the wasp attention.

The three of them back and hide on the tunnel again. Phersi press her finger in her mouth as she say “Shhhhhh!. There’s to many of them and look…..” the witch pointed while whispering ”…. some of them have a spear. They might be the smart one, we can’t fight with a number like that. It would be better to avoid them”

Suddenly they felt a strong earthquake and the tunnel they were hiding in began to crack. "What the?..... The tunnel!. Let's get out of here!" They ran and made it out just before the tunnel collapsed.

“You guys okay?” Phersi ask.

They are covered with the dust from the tunnel just collapsed.

“We’re fine, Miss Phersi”

“What was that with the earth quick just……… now?” She stop for a moment because suddenly a spear flew and stabbed in front of her.

“Miss Phersi!”

Three wasps flew over them and threw two more spears, but before hitting them, Phersi turned the spears to ashes after stopping them in midair for a while.

Lamina shot some of her arrows at the flying Wasps but they dodged very easily.

The witch stopped their movement and yealing "Shoot them!" Lamina shot some of her arrows into their heads and managed to defeat them. "Good work!"

"Wow! I didn't think I could hit them!" Lamina couldn't contain her excitement.

"Don't be too happy just yet. They know where we are now. The tunnel collapsed was might alert them all"

Phersi immediately climb on Tempest as a she saw a bunch wasp coming toward them and Tempest use his skill to run away from them while Lamina keep shooting at the wasp in the front of them and Tempest ram over the wasp who fall because Lamina’s arrow.

“Are you okay, Tempest?” Lamina asking as she keep shooting.

“I’m fine. Just keep shooting them down and I’ll finishing”

A lot a working ant appear when they about to enter the cave and every cave is covered by worker ants and they end up just circling around and finally surrounded. Phersi use her magic to keep holding the javelin from hitting the horse and Lamina who as keep shooting them but didn’t do much damage and Tempest try to holding those ants with spear from getting closer.

One the javelin manage to escape The witch barrel and hit Tempest rear foot and make him groaning in pain then fall down with Lamina and The witch.

“Tempest!” Lamina scream and then groaning in pain because her leg is still not cover yet. Lamina keep holding the pain in her legs as she walked closer to Tempest.

“Keep shooting them!” Phersi screaming as she keep holding those javelin.

“But Tempest....?”

“This is bad…. I don’t want to use it but…..” Phersi was talking to herself.

The witch is faced with a difficult decision. There’s no way out, those insect manage to surround them, Tempest are injured and can’t fight anymore and Lamina almost running out her arrow.

Phersi raise her hand as she cast a spell and a large rune appeared above her head and distract all of them.

“Miss Phersi?”

She look at Lamina with gently smile “I guess this will be the last time I'll see you, Sweetie” She wink.

“W-what are you talking about?” Lamina ask in curious and then she gasp knowing something bad will happen to her “No…. no…. Not you too!”

Phersi just in silent then glare at the monster. The rune is almost complete as the wind started blow strongly around the entire room. Lamina stand up and walk toward the witch, she try to stop whatever that woman about to do but it been block by invisible barrier.

Phersi close her eye and start to move her hand along with the rune and then suddenly those ant started to fall and all the wasp in that room start to kill each other on the air with their stung and spear.

Seeing that brutality made Lamia tremble in fear.

"Stop....... Please stop" Lamina covered her eyes and ears because she couldn't bear to see the terrible thing and hide near Tempest. "Please stop, stop stop...." Lamina kept muttering without stopping because the cruel voice was still ringing in her ears then suddenly Lamina heard a humming sound inside her head. The voice was quite beautiful and deep and she knew the voice is. Lamina felt that calmness and slowly opened her eyes "Tempest?"

Tempest standing in front of her and give her signs with his head for her to climb up on him.

"B-but your legs...?" Lamina said worriedly but Tempest snored loudly as a signal.

Suddenly Lamina's hand was pulled by the witch and forced her to climb Tempest "Let's go!. There's something wrong with them"

Tempest groaned in pain as he felt the weight and almost lost his concentration to singing, but he hold the pain for this chances to get away and save both of them. Then Tempest started running away from the battle zone as the witch used her barrel magic to shield them from the another javelin.

Lamina want to look at Phersi who suddenly grab her hand was but the woman quickly covered Lamina’s face with her hood.

All the wasps come out of their nests and fight each other for no reason and the ants fall down and suddenly die.

Tempest continued to sing for Lamina and holding the pain while running and dodging the wasps that fell from above.

Phersi didn't know what happened to them but whatever it was she was grateful that she was able to survive.

“Keep your eyes close Lamina. Is all gonna be okay” Phersi keep holding Lamina’s hood and hug her. Then she saw a cave that was not guarded by the giant ants "That way!" Tempest roar even more and use his lightning magic and make him run even faster.

Some wasps are chasing and flew ahead them.

“Nghh…..” Lamina suddenly feel pain on her hand and she readied her bow and aim at those wasp in front of them.

She couldn't see where the wasp are but she just imagined and pointed it forward then she shoot the arrow at one of the wasps' heads and kill it instantly then she continued and this will be one last arrow and without hesitation she shoot the two wasps that were lined up on their wings and made them fell in front of them.

Tempest just ram his head to the two wasps and they finally escaped as they entered the cave. When arriving at the cave, Tempest reach his limit then lost his balance and fell with the both them who got threw from his back.

Before hitting the ground, Phersi quickly hugged Lamina and let her body hit the ground instead of Lamina.

“Miss Phersi….” her eyes widened after seeing the woman's head flowing blood "Miss Phersi, your head!"

"It's okay sweetie, at least you're not hurt again" she giggled and smiled. She let go of her arms and Lamina immediately helped her up, her face returned sad seeing someone who saved her are injure because of her. But Phersi keep convince her "it's just a small wound, I'll treat it later. Now we have to take care of Tempest first"

Lamina limply rushed to Tempest "nghh.... hold on Tempest!" Lamina sit near Tempest's head then stroked his head "I'm sorry for troubling you again.... I'm really sorry"

"It's okay little lady. Just let me rest for little while"

"You are really great, Tempest. I hope I can do something for repay your kindness"

"There’s one.... Let me sing for you again later"

Lamina burst into tears and hugged Tempest's head "Sure... I'm really looking forward to it"

On the dark side of the cave they heard a lot of crawling noise and not long after that a bunch of giant spider appeared. The spiders have the same size like the ants was, they might be eating Wyvern corpse and make them big too.

Phersi immediately use magic barrel after saw a lot spider coming and hold them, she don’t know how long to keep them until the barrel broken.

They spiting some white stuff that might be webs from their mouth and make that witch even more struggle. “Damn it!. I thought we manage to escape but……” she looked at Lamina who trying to help tempest to stand up but ended up falling.

Tempest almost lost a lot a blood because forcing himself to run and didn’t have a strength to stand up anymore.

“Little lady. You must leave me and get out of here with her” Tempest speak trough Lamina’s mind.

Lamina shake her head and shout at Tempest “No!. I won’t go without you. Come on….” Lamina still forcing herself to lift Tempest body with her leg still injure.

The spider keep hitting the barrel that make Phersi almost lost her balance and then the crack appear. The barrel glass is almost broke. “Ngh!!. I can’t hold them any longger!”

“Lamina!” Tempest is yealing at Lamina and make her stop “Listen. There’s no hope for me anymore. Leave me and run with that woman. I will buy us some time for you to run”

“AHHH!” The spider manage to destroy the barrel and make Phersi thrown to the cave wall so hard and pass out.

“Miss Phersi!” Lamina readies her bow and tried to grab the arrow in the hanging bag behind her but she had run out of all her arrows due to the previous fight. Then Lamina rush to the witch who unconscious then stood in front of her with daggers in both of her hand “I will not abandon you just like Master did to me. I will protect what was important to me like Master told to me”

The spiders are getting closer to Lamina in group.

“Lamina, run!” Tempest shouted even more. He keep forcing himself to stand up but it can’t. “Lamina!!!”

Then there was a thumping sound from behind the tunnel walls and it getting closer along with a shaking and caught everyone's attention.

“What is that?” Tempest speak for himself.

The sound getting closer and louder as the shake of the ground getting strong and then the wall beside the spiders exploded and hit some of those near Lamina.

“Kyahh!!” Lamina screaming in shock due the explosive and protect herself with both hand.

Behind the dust there is a light and shadow of person is walking while talking “Hahhhh......Finally……. I can catch up with you all”

“Is that?” Tempest said in curious.

Lamina was wondering who it was until she heard a familiar voice “Ma-master?”

The dust started fade away slowly and Lamina can see clearly who is person.

“You guys missed me?”

She couldn’t hold back her tears of happiness that came over her and sit on her knees “What took you so long?” Lamina smiled in relief.

“Heh!” Naruk smirked.

Note : For the next chapter maybe I will update it a bit late (Maybe four or five days) because I'm working on the cover and the three main characters for this novel.

I can't draw so I made it in 3D (Is kinda my hobbie though).
