In the Game

My vision was suddenly warped again. Although I have experienced it a while ago, I was most certainly not used to it yet. 

The view of the sunset a long with the wide and open ocean changed to one filled with greenery. Oak trees that filled my view towers high to the sky while its leaves covered the light of the day, though little light escaped from the gaps created between each leaf it was still quite bright, so it was still early in the morning I thought.

I gave a glance at my left and my right, I seem to be in a little clearing.  Just where I spawned, there were no trees nearby, quite convenient of a spawn if I say so myself. But I quickly dismissed that thought as I felt something odd when I glanced left and right.

'Is it the insight skill?' 

I dismissed that thought just as quickly as it came, I don't have any reliable information on it yet, so I do not know how it exactly works as a 6th sense. But I quickly realized what was wrong all along.

"Nooooooooo!" Why! I yelled. 

Character customization something that was added in the game, literally only allowed you to change your hair color and hair style. Though my body looked frail and slim, apparently It would be different in here, it is much stronger than it was before and in fact I thought I could handle using bigger swords now. 

A while ago while I was in the tutorial, I was sulking because of the fact I couldn't change my body composition, so I decided that I anything is fine as long as my hair is black, was what I said to Ciel, although I didn't put it much thought a while ago, I now found out why she was often showing a mischievous smile or a chuckle every now and then. 

"She made my hairstyle long and girly!!!" AHHHHHHHH!

Although I did say anything was fine, why, just why did she had to make my hair like a girl, I swear she's making fun of me. Though I did not have a mirror I already knew what I looked when I had long hair, but I think my hair is even longer now than before... Being short haired and mistaken as a cute young boy was much better than being mistaken as girl!

My mother even told me that I was too short for a guy and that if I was any taller I would have been tall enough to become a model. I didn't even know what that meant!

'Breath in, Breath out, Hooooo! Haaaaaa!'

As I calmed down my breathing. I thought that I can surely change my characters hair design surely, I mean the only options for character customization is just to change hair style, and hair color, I can't see why I cannot change it again later.

As I thought about that, my thoughts further became grim thinking that I set myself a death flag, though I would not literally die, I think I still might die from having long hair for the rest of my life in this game.

Leaving my thoughts out now once and for all.

I decided to do check on something more important. I opened my menu and checked the most important button of them all. The logout button!

[ Logout ]

And there it was, the logout button, it's not missing in our menu so are we safe? I thought, but I decided to press it, to easy my paranoia.

[ Yes ] [ No ]        

Confirm within 5 seconds. ]

Safe, I thought, but that will depends if it will actually let me do it, but I decided that this was enough to ease me a little. So to quickly change my thoughts, As I wanted to think about different topics, I also decided to test something little out here.

I took out my spear and held it right near its spear head, and as I did, I swiftly cut my arm as a test, I am definitely not crazy!

First pain came from the arm I slightly cut, it was actually not that painful than real wounds, so it was really true that our pain senses are dulled in this game to prevent some things. I also quickly recalled the time that I cut it, thought it was still a small cut there should have been more blood, but a while ago it was quite little I thought, so they also made those adjustments huh. Lastly I took a look at my arm and where the wound was, normally there should have been a flesh and blood wound  mark, but instead here lies something expected but at the same time unknown, at the are I cut was a blue mark that you could obviously tell that there was cut here. 

I see so this is for people who don't like too much bloody stuff huh. Is what I thought but I also remember that there are also people in the world who have weird fetishes such as self-inflicting harm and blood, is this one preventive measures for them, I mean would they even play this game? Who knows. After finishing my experiment I decided that I would just move on.

So I began checking both my map and coordinates.

Just like were I chose to spawn, my map displayed right were I was. South West of the southern continent, in between a valley and a forest. It displays that I'm in the valley though. The map window also displayed the names of the immediate locations which were 'Slimey Valley of Vin' and 'The Phantom forest Leta'. 

I'm fine with ghosts I thought, seeing how the forest had the modifier 'phantom'. Though I should probably start with the valley since obviously from its name, it should be related to slime and slimes are the epitome of weak beginner mobs.

That's what I thought, but I also remembered watching anime were there was an overpowered slime character, I shouldn't underestimate slimes, is what I thought so I decided to keep my guard up all the times. There I resolutely marched towards the slime valley, is what I thought I was gonna do until a loud howl stopped me in my tracks.

Behind me was a grey furred wolf, other distinctive features? Well nothing really aside from it about to pounce at me like a cat, except it was bigger or maybe a dog since it is related to dogs and all though dogs don't pounce so I thought it was odd,  but I obviously quickly abandoned that train of thought since there was an opponent in front of me and all.

I really setup myself a death flag while in the tutorial huh. 

As I have chosen my physical combat specialty as a spear I remembered thinking about the different advantages it had especially the severe lack of information right now and those words were

'As long as they rush head-on I can just stab them upfront, however smart opponents wouldn't do that obviously.' Or at least that's how I remember how my thoughts went. 

So here I am now, obviously it could have rushed me and take me down in an instant but due to the surrounding forest and leaves on the ground I'd hear the rustling, and prepare for a counter, but this wolf is unusual. I don't know if its stupid or smart. Since it was already sneaking up on me why did it have to howl? Is it stupid and gave its position away for no reason. Then why is it circling around me now without rushing in as I keep my spear head pointing towards the wolf, is it really smart or is it dumb, maybe its both, hard to tell really.

Now the first one to make the move will lose, lets see how long you can stay there Mr. Wolf who will persevere Man vs Wolf! Let us see! 

I thought all that while having a smile upon my face, this is gonna be thrilling.
