Chapter 2:

Le Voyage Vers un Autre Endroit

A Journey Till the End

“Hmm, is there anything I could do in here..”

Said Alastor with a weak voice. Boredom filled the room.

The two are going to a nearby city called Vesteria, their next location.

"So, where are we anyways? Are we near our destination?"

“Don’t worry, we are halfway through. Just around 45 minutes until we reach our destination.”

Replied Jean, with an optimistic face.

“45 minutes huh, its still pretty long…”

Jean replied, "45 minutes, plus approximately 50 more hours."

Alastor was shocked.

The maiden, Jean, thought to herself:

"This guy is pretty annoying, if only he had enough patience.."

"Don't worry, we will be in Vesteria in no time."

Jean said with a slightly annoyed face.

"There are snacks in the back of the carriage, if hungry, feel free to eat some.”

After hearing that, Alastor quickly rushed to the back and snagged the snacks.

“Mmm, so goo-"

A strange figure appeared near the side of the cabin. It was following the two adventurers since they started the journey. The figure stretched his hand, forming some sort of dark magic orb and..

*CRASH*

Alastor and the maiden was sent flying, the maiden landed perfectly but Alastor took a hit in the body.

The carriage was destroyed to pieces.

*Alastors POV*

I opened my eyes to see something on fire. Since I didn't have the energy to turn my head, I was facing a foggy section of the forest.

*cough* "Ugh, what was that?“

Someone appeared in the foggy area. It was a tall man with a black mask, with black cape and black armor. It was walking in a slow but deadly manner. Once he was near us, he suddenly disappeared.

After regaining enough energy, I finally stood up. Blood went out of my mouth, with my left arm becoming immovable. It hurts..

I turned my head to see..

..a familiar carriage was on fire, and the horses laid down, lifeless, with blood spread in the ground. Then, Jean, stood next to me, with a pale face. She was shocked.

"Hey, Jean.."

The maiden looked at me, with relief, and said..

"Thank god, at least you're still alive."

"..what happened here? Did we get attacked?"

"Not sure, but that thing destroyed our means of transportation. We'll need to walk."

“I guess this is our only choice…”

We started walking under the steaming hot sun, with shirts full of blood and sweat.

                                                               *1 hour later*

While walking, we found a house-like structure. Upon further inspection, it was a shack.

"Hey look, Alastor! A house!" Jean said.

We stopped at the nearby shack, it was abandoned, no signs of people in the area. The door was destroyed, the furniture in the interior was scattered everywhere. We scoured the area for any items that would be useful and found some bandages and food.

"Some food, huh. That's useful."

We decided to stay at the house for one night, as the night approaches, I gathered some wood from the nearby forest to board up the entrance and to light up a campfire. We also catched some fish to eat for later.

"Well, what a disaster." I said, while watching the fish cook.

Jean replied: "Don't worry, we'll still be able to reach Vesteria, just a bit more time."

"Yeah, sure.", I replied.

As we eat our food, I looked at the faintly shining moon and thought:

"Our journey got a lot more interesting, eh."

To be continued.
