Chapter 17

Running at around half my max speed up the mountain path.
No one around and no creatures either.
'seems there are adventurers ahead since the area is void of any threats, what do we do?' says the rogue as she surveys the area.
'mostly mid ranks come here, higher ranks wouldn't be here if there isn't a suitable quest reward which we would hear about so just keep going' says the elf.
I keep going and we see a team, 4 of them, I pass them and they are in shock.
As they should be, a giant spider just charged passed them.
A few minutes later and I see a big lizard, looks like they are the only group here.
I say a big lizard but compared to me it's not that big, about 1/3rd of my size, I easily slice it apart by swiping my leg at it.
Continuing on and we see a fork in the path, the mountain is big after all so obviously there will be several routes.
The girls choose the left side so I head there, the most dangerous path was straight ahead since it's in the middle of the mountain range.
We are on the side of it now so it's not that dangerous since you can escape faster and not be surrounded.

'we should be encountering more territorial monsters now, either orcs or kobolds so keep an eye out for those' says the rogue.
I see goats, deers and lots of eagle like birds but not much else.
'I saw them, some kobolds hiding behind the ragged rocks there' says the healer.
Suddenly big rocks are being throw at us, they are thrown hard enough to injure and kill people.
I can handle that amount of damage though and shoot some webs over there, I only manage to catch 2 of them and I pull them over here.
They fall down hard and the rogue finishes them off, seeing this the rest turn back and go away
I slow down a bit so we can better survey the area, apparently there are magic stones and crystals here but you need to go higher up since most of them were already taken at these starting points.
The rocks themselves can also be valuable but you need to know what minerals you are looking for which we don't know about.
OWW
An arrow hits my rear but it doesn't stick in, the arrows are too low quality.
What fired it were, goblins?
Several of them but not that many, they quickly run away when their attack didn't work.

No time to stop here so I continue on, we see more of them but they don't attack, my spider body is too intimitading.
That's saving alot of time as we just shoot up the mountain path.
Bears and bigger birds are here but nothing yet again, no one is challenging me.
'no one is going after us, what's happening?' ponders the healer.
'I assume getting into a deadly fight isn't what they want, they are just trying to survive afterall and none of them are super territorial' answers the elf.
She has her face exposed now, even in the forest she usually hides it.
Her pale white skin, wite hair and white eyes are immidiately noticable, it's actually captivating how it attracts you to it.
Even the other girls are staring.
'well so far atleast, we should be entering the really dangerous parts about now' says the rogue.
Suddenly some fog hits us, we aren't at the top but some of it is now here.
We can barely see now except I have better vision so I can still see fairly well.

A white deer.
We see it in the distance and I can feeel it's powerful presence.
I head towards it and fire a web, it dodges it and fire a white beam from it's antlers in return.
It's far enough that I can evade it but being up close would make it hard to do avoid it.
The ground and rocks are destroyed or more like melted by the intense energy.
'I think we should go back now' says the healer.
The white deer goes away and we go on.
'really, we should back, even a deer is that strong'
'stop being so scared, we'll go back when we find something good' says the rogue.
'that wasn't the plan, we aren't even fighting either'
...
The rogue can't say anything in response but she won't go back.
About 1/4th up now before reaching the clouded parts.
Seeing caves regularly as well, this isn't normal, they are clearly made by the creatures here.
'trolls spotted over there' says the elf.
They are basically bigger, uglier and fatter orcs.
Only 3 of them walking around, the elf suddenly fires a shot and kills one.
I wrap the others up and the rogue slashed their heads off.
I guess trolls aren't that much of a threat then.
'trolls are easy to beat as long as you don't fight them head on'
The trolls bodies start to regenerate, 'ah forgot to fire them up'
Archer elf quickly fires some shots and it's done.
Some more trolls are spotted and we get the surprise factor against them, they are big slow targets.
'should I take their corpses with us?' asks the rogue.
'you won't get much for trolls since they are burned' answers the healer who's on the look out on top of me.
'I'll leave them then, free food for the others'

Finally after all this time we encounter a strong one, a purple snake.
It's head is as big as me, its body is a normal snake lenght relatively and not like an anaconda or the like.
It sees us and rushes at us!
I shoot the webs but it doesn't work.
BITE
AAAH!
It bit my sides and I can feel the poison coming in, I slash and pierce at it and it finally let's go.
The damage it got wasn't much since its skin is hard.
Rogue throws knives and elf fires her magic arrows but it only distracts it, it doesn't seem to have hurt it that much.
I can't move, the poison was too much, I have resistance but this is bad.
'TARA HANG ON, I'LL HEAL YOU'
Will that actually work?
The healing light engulfs me and I can feel myself recovering slowly.
Even with this poison her healing works? is it effective regardless of anything someone is inflicted with?
This is her real talent, the other girls are still on me and the snake is waiting on me to weaken but too bad for it.
I run away while spraying its head with webs to buy time.
Elf prepares a big magic blast while the snake breaks free and comes after us.
BOOM
Right in its face but it's still alive, it was burned and stopped pursuing.
Still being healed while she is crying, this should be end of this quest, I will go back to the city.
