Chapter 4:

Poem: Glorious Run (Summer Edition)

Prose Practice

The thundering of beasts across the pitch,

Their breaths steal the atmosphere to keep going,

The sun stinging their skin,

And sweat drenching most in slick coats,

All enthusiastic about victory.

Arms in repetitive swings,

Hooves galloping,

Men in pristine white with cap,

Balls racing ahead with feet propelling it,

And others born to blaze the track.

Rugby players, cricketers, basketballers, horsemen, netballers, baseball stars, gymnists...

These and many more coming down the pitch,

All in the same race,

A race for the love of sport.
