Chapter 9:

A Visit Pt. 2

While Having Cheats And Bonus In My New Life At Fantasy World, As A Closet Otaku, I Will Be Living The Way I Want

We're inside the compound, to be exact, a somewhat part of the compound that gave off a nice row of sakura trees and a garden should the sliding door be opened like right now.

From what I learned from a small tour after lunch 30 minutes ago, the house itself had rooms and spaces for sparring, training, archery, and usual normal rooms found in your typical residence.

A good house is a good house, only this time, this world, added with magical properties gave availability of better building materials and resources for making a better quality infra and items. And yes, there's such a thing as building code in Angevine, the Angevinian Building Code.

Watching the sakura trees being itself with nature while at the same time listening to Eileen's happy humming, for a while, I recalled the day of my former life I first held my first revolver at the shooting range to the progression of reaching the barrel length of 6.5 inches and various trainings and drills that helped me a lot in situations including combat operations and others.

"Caesar?" Eileen's voice disturbed my thoughts.

"Yes, Eileen?"

The 5-year-old girl for a while looked at the Sakura tree near the koi pond before she turns and smiles at me. "What's your dream?"

'Dreams, ne? My dream back then as my former self was to serve my country and give a better future to my younger siblings and to myself including them.' I thought, thinking once more about my former life, before answering to Eileen. "To become an adventurer like my grandparents and my parents."

"Well," said Eileen. "For me, I thought about becoming an adventurer when my mama and papa narrated me their stories before going to sleep."

'Ah, storytelling! Andre used to tell me about those days he had with Dad in their younger days.' Storytelling, it was that thing that made me smile and be proud of my parents in my past life when Andre took me under his wing in training and education to follow his deceased late best friend's wishes. At that time, I was 6.

Smiling a bit, I commented. "Must be nice to hear it every single night, right Eileen?"

"It sure is, Caesar! It makes me wants to become one someday!"

"Then why not ask your mommy about it?" I suggested. "My mother gave me lessons as preparation."

Eileen looked surprised as she then asked me a question. "Eh!? Ms. Theresa did?"

"Yes." I replied. "I had fun in learning what mana can do especially to the devices."

"I want to learn...please teach me, Caesar."

"W-well, I..." With the way Eileen looking at me with puppy eyes which I swear had some stars in it, made herself appear way cuter than I expected. I mean I had a resistance training from my former life but this was too much than one episode when I almost wanted hug my friend's cute golden retriever before leaving for the USA to assassinate Charles Coughlin, the overzealous populist hate-causing anti-Semite Canadian-American Roman Catholic radio priest, and lynch mob leaders and financial backers responsible for brain drain in the USA, in right timing.

"Alright." I gave in. "I'll teach you some basics and noncombat spells under a condition your mother agree."

"Thank you very much, Caesar! I'll never forget this!"

"You're welcome, Leen."

"Leen?"

"Think of it as your nickname."

"I accept it! You're my first friend!"

Eileen whom I gave a nickname, Leen, hugged me.
