Chapter 62: The Scientist, Dr. Vaughan!

(Sawano and Braylon then walked into the lobby of a workshop which Braylon was talking with the receptionist as Sawano waited.)
"Braylon: Hi there, I'm wondering if there's a Dr. Vaughan here?"
"Receptionist: Of course, he's in the lab right-"
(An explosion inside the lab happened which rumbled the office and smoke was coming from the inside behind the soundproof doors.)
"in there..."
"Braylon: Thank you."
(Braylon placed on a safety mask as Sawano walked in without one.)
"Wait! Sawano your mask!"
"Sawano: Senvoinians have immunity to anything toxic, same thing goes for alcohol as well."
"Braylon: Oh okay..."
(Dr. Vaughan then coughed as he then threw his invention at the wall which broke apart.)
"U-Uh.. Alonso..?
"Dr. Vaughan: WHA?! WHO'S THERE?! WHO GAVE YOU CLEARANCE TO ENTER?!"
"Braylon: Whoa whoa whoa wait! Its me, Braylon?! You revealed one of your science inventions in America in several different states!"
"Dr. Vaughan: Wait.. Ohh, its that Braylon?! Nathanial's father?! Come in, come in!"
(Sawano and Braylon walked further deeper into the lab as they both saw countless inventions which was discarded, abandoned or broken down.)

"Braylon: How many inventions did you even make..?"
(Dr. Vaughan then scratched his head to the question and focused on one of his current inventions which was an elemental storage cube and discharger. He then replied with a energetic yet calm voice.)
"Dr. Vaughan: I may have made over nine hundred forty one inventions... why do you ask?"
"Braylon: We need your assist with something. You see there's this United Government-"
"Dr. Vaughan: SAY NO MORE! ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE YOU TO A PROJECT I'VE BEEN WORKING ON FOR EXACTLY TWO MONTHS!"
(He rushed to the back of his lab and slammed his invention on the table, hyperventilating with excitement. Sawano was interested in the invention more than his hyperventilation.)
"Sawano: So what is this?"
"Dr. Vaughan: THIS my friend... IS THE OPTIMAL STEALTH GIZMO!"
"Sawano: What does this do?"
"Dr. Vaughan: Once hooked to one's body part, it will generate stealth for that person's body for a limited amount of time! Even hiding every last one your senses!!!"
(He'd place the gizmo on Sawano's torso which turned him invisible but instead started to make his entire body blink random colors of light.)

"Sawano: Uh..."
"Dr. Vaughan: My mistake! I've miscalculated that!"
(He quickly removed it from Sawano which he was normal again and went to the back to find another invention as fast as possible.)
"Sawano: Has he always been like this?"
"Braylon: More or less."
"Dr. Vaughan: BEHOLD! THE AMPLIFED LASER MANIPULATOR!"
"Sawano: Manipulator?"
"Dr. Vaughan: Aim this at a pinpoint location and in ten seconds, this laser shoots at light speed with the ability to manipulate any and all matter!"
"???: Master, I have returned with the body."
(A female cyborg then walked into the lab with a deceased body of a humanoid creature until she saw Braylon and Sawano which she dropped the body and quickly activated her defensive protocol which Dr. Vaughan then stopped him from attacking.)
"???: Explain yourselves intruders!"
"Dr. Vaughan: WAIT WAIT WAIT! This is Braylon and Sawano, I'm familiar with these two! End the defensive protocol, code green!"
"???: Command accepted. Defensive mode off. Forgive me, master."
(The weapons then was deactivated as he picked the corpse back up and lays it on the dissection table and Dr. Vaughan then tied it down for examination.)
"Dr. Vaughan: You've made an excellent catch! All I need out of this is a few things then feel free to dispose of the corpse."
"???: Understood."
"Sawano: So um.. Dr. Vaughan, who's this?"
(He then turned around after pulling out the creature's rib cage and placing it to the side.)

"Dr. Vaughan: This is my assistant helper and.. most likely my daughter. Cyborg Machine number twenty nine or her name Idxx."
"Idxx: Forgive me for my rudeness. I am aware of your deeds Mr. Magachi, you have my gratitude for saving not just saving the world from death, the universe too."
"Sawano: I appreciate it... Wait, machine number twenty nine? You made cyborgs like these?
"Dr. Vaughan: Of course!"
(The three of them walked into the back of the lab past two doors which lead to an elevator. After going down the elevator, they've entered the cybernetic underground city which was ran by cyborgs as far as the eye could see. Sawano and Braylon was surprised.)
"Behold! 'The City of Cyborgs!' Cytropolis!"
"Sawano: What in the..."
"Braylon: Alonso, how did you make this..?"

"Dr. Vaughan: This took me about fourteen to seventeen months to complete and after creating all these cyborgs, they've decided to live on their own. Considering that technology could one day betray their actual masters, I created this entire city for them so they'd never dream of betrayal. I gave them everything they wanted or needed."

"Braylon: This is... astounding..."
"Dr. Vaughan: Ah yes, Idxx. Any luck of tracking Scyroid?"
"Sawano: Scyroid?"
"Dr. Vaughan: Yes. Idxx here brought him in when he was a mere human. There was a car crash in which he was still conscious considering his human body was split in twos. Idxx pulled him out of the wreckage while he was close to death in that tragic accident. We repaired him, but Idxx wanted to take care of it herself."
"Idxx: When he was given cybernetic parts, he was half human but part-cyborg. He ran away, I tried looking for him for years. We couldn't even find him on the tracker."
"Sawano: I got a lock. He's somewhere in Japan but he's not on land..."
"Idxx: Wait- Huh?! How did you get a lock on- He's in the ocean!"
"Dr. Vaughan: If we can hurry, we can stop his parts from being far beyond repairable!"
(The four of them hurried out of the lab as Sawano then teleported them to the location which they'd all appear on an abandoned highway which lead in and out of Yamaguchi and Sawano then caught a closer lock on Scyroid.)

"Sawano: Something's wrong..."
"Idxx: What is it?"
"Sawano: He's moving around down there, I'd go and check but going anywhere near water will be evaporated in seconds."
"Idxx: How is that even possible?"
"Braylon: I didn't tell you guys this. Sawano here is the God of Hell."
(Dr. Vaughan spat out of shock and Idxx was examining not just him but his jacket as well. Dr. Vaughan then pleaded for mercy for his negative actions.)
"Dr. Vaughan: PLEASE DON'T KILL ME ALMIGHTY AND POWERFUL GOD! I PRAISE YOU AND YOUR DEEDS AS WHAT WAS BEST FOR-"
"Sawano: Dr. Vaughan! Its fine, I don't act like Hades. I never plan to anyway but back to the topic about Scyroid-"
(A big splash of water emerged to the surface which Sawano got a close up look at it and was a motorcycle flying with a magic enchantment, the motorcycle then landed next to them as the rider got off and looked at the four, removing his shades.)
"???: Why did you follow me."
"Idxx: Because we want you to come back, Scyroid-"
"Scyroid: Not interested.
"Idxx: What?"
"Scyroid: I don't like repeating myself, it takes up my time and I hate having my time wasted. Like right now."
(He looked at Sawano and was instantly annoyed at his presence.)

"And who is flame boy over here?"
"Braylon: This is Sawano, the God of-"
"Scyroid: Yeah yeah, I only wanted his name. I don't care if he's a God or not. Sawano, was it? Why exactly are they here and keep it less then ten words, I got better things to do."
"Sawano: They wanted to find you so I helped them out."
"Scyroid: How depressing... You guys had to ask a God to help find me? Its almost comical I could laugh... But I can't, cyborgs don't laugh."
(Idxx and the others was silent at his words.)
"Now. Are we done here? As said, better things to do."
"Dr. Vaughan: Why wouldn't you come home Scyroid..? Me and Idxx saved your life and you plan to abandon us like that?"
"Scyroid: When did I ever ask to be saved by a crazy scientist and a overprotective machine?"
(Braylon and Sawano then backed up a few steps after what they heard.)
"Idxx: Overprotective...? I WAS OVERPROTECTIVE BECAUSE I WAS WORRIED ABOUT YOU RUNNING OFF AND GETTING KILLED AGAIN!"
"Scyroid: I'm saying what's on my mind. If you don't like it, take the tears elsewhere."
(Idxx was then pissed off which Dr. Vaughan held her fist and lowered it.)

"Dr. Vaughan: Scyroid. I understand your frustration and I know how upset you are about losing your mortality. But I promise you, I will find a way to make you human again."
"Scyroid: Yeah right, last time I heard a promise like that I ended up losing my human heart and NOW I HAVE A MECHANICAL HEART IN HERE BECAUSE OF YOU! If it gets ruined, I die. That's a choice I'm willing to actually take."
"Sawano: Scyroid! I do not tell anyone this. I can grant your mortality back."
"Scyroid: Another lie? It seems Alonso tainted you with his bullshit."
"Sawano: So you believe a god lies?"
(He sighed and raised his pinky up which casted dark walls around them and the entire scenery vanished. Sawano then raised his hand to the air which more than two billion souls was floating around them in the box. Everyone was surprised to see his ability.)

"Ah, here it is. Your mortality."
"Scyroid: Well just give it back to me!"
"Sawano: Ah ah ah! You have to promise me a deal. That's how it'll work."
"Scyroid: Ugh... fine, what's the deal?"
"Sawano: You have to spend the whole day, living a normal life as part-cyborg. Then I will let you decide if you want your human body back or if you want to remain half cyborg. Is that simple enough for you?"
"Scyroid: Hmph.... Fine, I'll think about it. But I'm still positive on wanting my mortality back when this is over."
(The souls all vanished as the four of them returned to reality.)
"Sawano: We shall see about that."
(A while later, Idxx was walking in the city with Scyroid but he didn't find any interest in being part cyborg still.)
"Idxx: Come on, at least tell me why you won't be a cyborg!"
"Scyroid: Because, I was having the greatest time of my life!"
"Idxx: What was you even doing?"
"Scyroid: I was on my motorcycle, living life as I wanted to. Caring for the public and signing autographs for them! But all of that... was when I was human."
"Idxx: Wait, autographs? What was your job anyway?"
"Scyroid: I was a movie star."
(She blinked her eyes twice and covered her mouth as she started to laugh a bit.)

"What's so funny?"
"Idxx: If I'm being honest... I don't see you movie star material, Scyroid."
"Scyroid: So you don't believe me? Fine, that just makes me want to go back into being a human more than a damn cyborg."
"Idxx: Its not my fault you can't handle the truth!"
(She smiled with laughter coming out.)
"Scyroid: Ugh... so damn annoying..."
(He continued ignoring her as a red light showed as a child then started running across the street but was being chased by the father then came an oncoming car which the civilians warned them to get out the way.)
"Father: SAVE MY DAUGHTER SOMEONE PLEASE!"
(As the car suddenly came closer to hitting her, Scyroid then grabbed the father and the kid at fast speeds and pulled them out the street in time but the bystanders then saw police cars chasing the speeding vehicle.)
"Idxx: Whoa..! That was close..!"
(The child then started crying as she hugged her father, scared to death which then angered Scyroid which he started walking to where the police is chasing the car. Idxx was then chasing him to join but saw the angered expression on his face.)

"Where are you going?!"
"Scyroid: That poor kid almost died from a reckless, unforgiving driver... I'll make him PAY FOR NEARLY KILLING AN INNOCENT LITTLE GIRL!"
(Without hesitation, his speed increased tenfold as he ran off at jet speeds and started gliding in midair but close to the ground and started catching up to the police and the getaway car.)
"Bandit #1: The hideout's around here, we're close to it! Just got to lose these cops..!"
(Scyroid then appeared in their rear view mirrors as he then came up close to the car and punched through their window.)
"Scyroid: YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR SCARRING INNOCENT CIVILIANS, BASTARDS!!"
"Bandit #2: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!"
(Scyroid out of pure anger then punched the car in half with his metal fist which the back of the car was scrapping across the streets and the police then created a blockade on both ends of the street which surrounded the bandits and Scyroid landed on the ground, impressed at his ability to glide and fly.)
"Scyroid: What was that..?"
"Bandit #2: YOU..! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO YOU'RE MESSING WITH, SO YOU'RE GONNA DIE FOR PICKING WITH THE WRONG CREW!"
(Both police and civilians took cover from the gunfire being blasted at Scyroid which did not harm his cybernetic body at all.)
"Scyroid(Thinking): How did I fly..? Secondly, how is the bullets not drilling through me.. they're just ricocheting off the body and to the ground... Wait, let me try something..."

(Scyroid was then walked towards both the bandits as they then dropped the guns and one of them pulled out a rocket launcher which Scyroid's danger levels risen on the weapon in front of him. He then ran towards the bandits as the rocket was then launched but Scyroid then punched it directly into the sky, almost into the clouds but explodes above the city.)
"Bandit #1: W-WHO... WHO EVEN ARE YOU..?!"
(Scyroid focused on them as he put his foot down and was still furious at the two.)
"Scyroid: Who am I..? I am.. Scyroid.. The CYBORG!"
"Bandit #1: CYBORG?! YOU'RE NO DAMN CYBORG, YOU'RE A HUNK OF JUNK MADE INTO A BIGGER HEAP OF TRASH!"
(The ground then split open from the massive change in speed which started both the bandits as they both was then taken into mid-air, screaming at the intensity of flying around.)

"Scyroid: If I'm a heap of trash, then allow me to discard myself into scrap then! But... If I'm going down, you both are going down with me!"
(While flying in the sky, he then turned around and rocketed himself straight to the ground, the bandits continued screaming in fear as they begged to be let go of.)
"Bandit #2: OKAY! OKAY! YOU WIN, WE'LL SURRENDER JUST DON'T KILL US!!!"
"Scyroid: Hm... I don't think so!"
(He laughed at them as they continued screaming to their deaths as they came close to the ground. Scyroid then stopped four inches to the ground which both bandits was scared to the point they've passed out and two police lieutenants came to arrest them. The civilians was surprised at Scyroid until they've started to recognize him and started to cheer with claps.)
"Wait.. what's going on..?"
(Seconds later, Idxx then caught up to him and saw everyone cheering.)
"Idxx: Scyroid! Are you alright?"
"Scyroid: I'm fine, but what is going on? Everyone's cheering for me...?"
"Fan: You're the movie star legend of Japan, Ogami Hideo!!"
(Scyroid was then surprised as they all remembered his name as a human and weakly smiled but was choking back tears of joy.)

"Idxx: Ogami..? So you was telling the truth...!"
"Scyroid: Yeah.. But now, I'm rebuilt."
(Sawano then regrouped while bringing Braylon and Dr. Vaughan.)
"Doctor.. I'm terribly sorry for my actions... I feared I wouldn't be remembered again but..."
"Dr. Vaughan: Say no more, Hideo. Say no more. All is forgiven my lad."
(Scyroid then hugged him out of pure joy as Sawano had a smile on his face and Braylon then remembered to ask them the question.)
"Braylon: Right! Dr. Vaughan, I have a question to ask you! Would you like to assist us in our fight against the Ten Tyrants?"
(He thought about it and turned to Idxx and Scyroid.)
"Both: We'd love to help you fight!"
(Sawano chuckled as Braylon smiled.)
"Sawano: So Scyroid, do you wish to have your mortality back?"
"Scyroid: .....Nah, It wouldn't be fair if Idxx has to remain a cyborg and I go back to being human. From now on, I will support and help you two from this day."
(Sawano nodded as he understood and started to walk off.)
"Sawano: I will inform you all on our next course of action, thanks for your cooperation!"
(They waved at Sawano as he then teleported back to the High Commission's office and started to update the file he was writing in.)
"Oshikida: Sawano! So, what happened?"
"Sawano: We got two new fighters is what happened."
(He marked Idxx, Scyroid and Braylon's name on the file which marked them as official commandments to fight against the tyrants.)
