The Shadow Nin User

Rin hid herself on a tall skyscraper near the edge of the city. The red headed girl nibbled on some snacks she had, her eye never leaving the scope of her large, silver rifle. Four Light Orbs floated near her. Three of them were linked with the Light Orbs that floated along Luna, Mira, and Elena. The other one...

"And you're sure it's a human?" The fourth light orb asked. 

"No doubt." Rin said, gulping down a cracker, still looking down her scope. 

"Hmm. I see. The Commander has already been informed." The light orb said. "She ordered his immediate capture. Bring him to the Sanctuary." 

"I figured as much." Rin sighed. 

"And if he tries to escape..." The orb paused. "Kill him." 

"Are you serious?" Rin took her eye off the scope, shocked at the statement. 

"Are you serious, Ma'am." The orb emphasized. 

"Sorry Ma'am." She shook her head. "But why?" 

The orb remained silent. 

"That just makes me not wanna do it even more." Rin noted. 

"It's only if he tries to escape. I doubt he will. I'm sure he wants answers that only the Commander can provide." The Light Orb said. 

"This is why we all didn't become Lillies. We never could follow orders as coldly as you all do, Ma'am." Rin commented. 

The shark hovered above them once more, taking several more shots from Rin before fleeing behind another building. The party pushed their way through the grass, wary of any more Shadow attacks. 

"Almost at the city limits, but these leviathans won't let up..." Mira gasped.

"How many shots does it take to kill these things?" Elena said. 

"Above." Luna said. 

The sharks circled back around for another attack, letting out another flurry of spikes. The group took shelter under the shield again, the spikes harmlessly bouncing off it. 

"Will it even let us escape?" Rell asked. 

Another sniper blast slammed into it. The shark bucked, before suddenly falling from the sky. 

"Uh oh." Luna said. 

"Incoming!" Mira cried. 

The group scattered as the gigantic beast came tumbling down on top of them. Rell was knocked on his backside from the force. He sat up, and found himself face to face with the shark's maw. It's shadowy eye rotated in its socket, regarding him. 

"What?" A ringing echoes in his ears, overwhelming him.

All of sudden, he was back in that darkness. The shadow Rell was there, with his red glowing eyes. He grinned. 

"Rell!" Elena's scream snapped him out of it just in time to After Image a spike. 

Rell closed the distance with Shadow Nin speed, driving his weapon into the shark's eye. It stopped, blocked by a barrier made of Nin. 

"Damn! It has it's reinforced barrier up!" Mira noted. 

"Not if I can help it!" Rell back up, channeling Shadow Nin. 

The shark began to struggle, picking itself up. 

"I won't let you. Pin."  Luna stomped. Spikes of earth rose, pinning the shark to the ground. 

Shadow Nin formed along his blade, causing it to glow bright red, the black runes running down the length of the blade in a flowing pattern. Rell raised his weapon over his head, energy stretching the blade several times its length. Rell drove his weapon down, smashing through the barrier and decapitating the shark. The shockwave traveled past the Shadow, severing a tree behind it in half. 

"He cut a Leviathan class barrier??" Rin's light orb jumped. "Wait, does this mean he can cut an Overlord's barrier?"

Rell fell to his knees, vision blurry. 

"You okay?" Elena caught him, helping him up. 

"I can't do anymore of those if that's what your asking." he gasped. 

"Got it. One time use attack. Big fan of those." Mira noted. "So what about the other one?"

The shark crashed through an overpass, eating everything in its wake as it dragged its belly along the ground. Elena launched herself into the air, carrying Rell in her arms. 

"I can't get a good shot at it." Rin said. "It's learning."

The shark remained low to the ground, avoiding any more shots from Rin's sniper. Large circles of Nin ran down the length of its body, spikes firing from them, pinning Luna and Mira down behind old cars. 

Elena landed on a rooftop, cradling Rell. She lowered him, allowing him to stand before he collapsed again. 

"Damn. That attack really took alot out of me." He noted. 

Elena tackled him as spikes zoomed over head. She grabbed him, rolling over while embracing him. A spike pierced through the corner of the roof, the barbed ended peeking through where they were. Elena clicked her tongue, still straddling Rell, oblivious to the embarrassing pose she was seating in. 

"Oh, sorry." She blushed, rolling off of him and lying flat on her stomach next to him in order to take cover from more attacks. 

"Luna and Mira have more company." Rin's light orb said. "More of those wolves and lizards." she said. 

"And we can't move because of this shark." Rell said. 

"And I can't support from this position; can't see anything."  Rin replied. 

"Excellent!" Elena smiled. 

"Why are you so happy? Aren't we screwed?" Rell asked, peeking over the roof only to narrowly dodge another spike. 

"It means I can do something crazy and get us out of this mess, or die trying." She smirked. 

"What?" Rell shook his head in genuine bewilderment. 

"I'm going rogue Rin!" Elena laughed. 

"Wait! Stay where you are! Elena!" Rin's orb protested in vain as Elena zoomed into the air.
