Confusion

“ Do you know what Mana circles are?”

“Yes, they are described as small Mana rings, made of a person’s Mana. They are present inside a person’s body within the Mana pool.”

“ That’s right. The amount of Mana circles varies from person to person. Usually there are only four small rings of Mana present In a person’s Mana pool, but in some cases some people also have more than four. Those have the blessing to use magic, meaning they gain the ability to use attributes.”

Currently I am in the library having my classes. The person who I am talking to right now is my teacher Miss Natalie . She teaches me history, ethics and somewhat of magic.

* After an hour.

“So that’s it for today. Hope you understand it.”

“Yes, Miss Natalie.”

Miss Natalie nodded at my answer as if she was satisfied.

“Hmmm…..oh yes Ciyana, I wanted to ask you this have you decided on the Emblem you are gonna chose?”

“huh.. no I haven’t yet.”

“I see….soon you will turn sixteen. And I guess the next Baptism Ceremony is on 15th of next lunar month.”

“Yes Miss Natalie.”

“well, don’t rush. Take your time. Okay.”

“mhmmm.”

‘ hah…. Baptism Ceremony..huh….I have to think soon.’ I am standing in middle of the hallway and thinking about the ceremony. Yes, the Baptism ceremony. As the name suggest it is a kind of ceremony which happens every year on 15th of seventh lunar month.

‘i wonder what will I get, I hope something normal or at least it should be decent.’

“ Hey, Ciya!”

‘ could it be light or earth. It can be fire too or it can be nothing.’

“Hey, are you listening?”

‘ well, having nothing is better too. There are many other people with no attributes. 😔 Sigh.”

“ Hey, why are you sighing now?”

“huh…”

“ Hello, Ciya are you alright? Wh..why are staring me like that?”

“Hnn…Shiro?”

“Yes, it’s me. Your friend Shiroha Amberston. Did you forgot already.”l

The person in front of me is my childhood friend Shiroha Amberston. She is Duke Amberston’s daughter.

She stares at me intently with her sparkly lavender eyes, while her beautiful face pouted. Well she looks cute though. Her beautiful brown hair fluttering in wind.

“mm…no I am just surprised.”

“surprised about what?”

She looks at me confusingly but I am the one who is most confused here.

“ Why are you here?”

“Hmm.. to meet you?”

“No.. that’s not what I mean. Why are you here in the capital? Didn’t you said you were going to Sinsel city with your family.”

She sighs 😔 at my clear question.

“ well I said that but……now I am back. So don’t worry.”

She says while her hands are behind her back.

“ha… so you are not going to tell me?”

She chuckles lightly.

“Nope…. Huh more importantly what are you doing!”

She asks all after a big gasp.

I repeat“What am I doing?” while looking confused at her.

She nodds eagerly like a child.

“Yes, what I mean is what are you doing here standing in the middle of the hallway.”

Hnn..I look around and clearly i am standing in the hallway. Looks like I was so preoccupied with my thoughts that I didn’t know when I stopped.

“Hey… you again spaced out.”

She says loudly catching my attention.

“ Huh… I was just taking a walk.”

“Taking a walk in the middle of the hallway…….and not only that I called you many times but didn’t replied. You were just staring at your foot…. Constantly.”

She said all of that in one breath.

“Well, to be honest I was just thinking about something.”

“huuh….. thinking about something.”

She stares at me hardly with a face saying “ something happened again right?”.

“Tell me.. something happened right?”

Huh…well she said it out loud. I can’t resist that face so I have to admit it, unless I want to face extreme circumstances.

“haa….no nothing happened. I was just thinking about the ceremony.”

“hnn…about Baptism ceremony?”

“Yep”

“did Miss Natalie asked you something?. Oh..Lemme guess Miss Natalie asked you about your emblem.You were thinking about that and are confused and probably can’t make any decision.”She asked the question and answered it herself all while her right hand on her chin.

“hnmm.” I nodded.

She is amazing. She guessed every inch of my problem herself. Well she looks like some detective and…

“ hahahaha.”

And she now laughing menancly.

“Mhm…shiro why are you laughing?”

“ Oh… I am sorry. I was just…haha…sorry.”

And there she goes again. I stare at her blankly.

After realizing my stare she stops and clears her throat.

“Well, never mind me….”

I stare.stare……..stare…….. “hmmph”

And I started walking.

*After 5 minutes

“Ah…Ciya are you angry?”

“….”

“ I know I shouldn’t have laughed. I am sorry”

“……”

“ hey! Stop ignoring me. Didn’t i said sorry”

“……”

“ Okay…. Ignore all you want.”

“..……as you wish.”

“ Huh don’t be serious-“

She pauses midsentence as if she remembered something.

I stop as well.and turned to see her.

Oh no….. that smile…. That Evil smile of her’s….it clearly indicates something is wrong.

“ Hehe…you know I had gift for you but now you’re angry at me.”

“Wh…what g.gift?”

Her smile grows wide at my response.

“ well, you know I went to Sinsel City with my family. And I bought a book for you.”

“ A b..book?.”

“yes a book. The Anthology of Bellion”

Huh the Anthology of Bellion! That is the book I wanted the most.but no..no Ciyana. It’s clearly a trap. Yes it’s one of her trick. Don’t fall for it.

“Are you saying the Truth?”

“hehe….yes I’m clearly saying the truth.You know I wanted to give it to you but …… you are angry now.”

She looks at me after completing her sentence, with her sad lavender eyes, but I know better. It’s a trap. V….very clever.
