Shadow 3: The Shadow Takers [Part 6]

Yiania looked over to Scarlett who had coughed up a large amount of blood onto the floor. She looked as pale as a ghost, her body thin from what she had endured. Yet, it was over and she had survived. After being branded with the emblem, she made her way over to the warm embrace of Myikaru. Smiling over at Orphina, she motioned for her to approach. Making her way up to the alter, Orphina dropped to her knees and allowed Yiania to shackle her wrist in place.Taking her dagger, Yiania sliced open the palm of her other hand and poured her blood into the chalice that was as black as a shadow. She continued to smile as she forced the liquid down Orphina’s throat. In that moment, Orphina began to convulse in the same way that Scarlett had. Before long, her hair had turned white, the blood that she threw up as black as the shadows that she would become one with.

With her body shaking, Orphina tried to steady her breathing as she looked up to Yiania.

“Am I…”

“Yes, you’re a Shadow Taker now,” Yiania said with a smile.

Grabbing the branding iron, Yiania placed it over the candle on the alter. She twirled on the ball of her foot and hummed cheerfully with a happy expression on her face. I now have more members to my unit. Still, I think I want to add that Pynn boy I’ve heard about.

Even if he’s more of my sister’s type, it would be nice to have him in my unit, Yiania thought as she looked to Orphina.

“Welcome to Unit Six,” Yiania said as she pressed the hot iron against’s Orphina’s left wrist.
