Chapter 2:

Lost Friends

Web novels are people too!

Yeah, so I've pretty much said it all... I think. It's time to return to my wonderful life. I'd just like to take a moment to remember some of my lost friends. The following people will never be forgotten:

– Absolute Zero
– A Month in Bloom
– Do you believe in matter?
– I was isekai'd....as a Sandwich!?
– Mistwalker
– Puzzle Boxes
– Secrets of the World
– Tropical Rush!!
– WonHal! Wonder Halls: After billions of years of respawning at the mouth, instantly dying! I don’t!
– You & Me Against The World

...

...

Those are just ten of the many web novels that have been yeeted out of existence. Perhaps they'll be back someday, perhaps not. Does it even matter? Well, not really. Less competition is always welcome; it's a cruel world on this side of the screen. I mean, look at me. I had to sacrifice my chance to be a normal web novel so I'd be able to speak out, and now I'll never be taken seriously.

We're still people, though. People aren't supposed to just vanish. And when we do vanish, all that's left of us is a "monument" with this sorry excuse for an epitaph:

404 Not Found

The page you were looking for doesn't exist.

You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved.

We're just pages to you...

Have you ever asked yourself why everyone wants to be an author but no one wants to be a web novel? Well, now's the time to think about it. Deep down you probably know how hard it is to survive as a web novel.

I'm off to bed. If you read everything, then good for you. I'll end with the following words:

The End
