Chapter 11:

Chapter 8 - The Meaning Behind DILIM U

Shadowed Love

FEW WEEKS LATER.....

Yeah, we are greater than humans,

We are the greatest in the world~

I turned off my alarm. It’s the worst alarm for a human but it is the only one available when I bought it with auntie Tina. There are no human songs here, since they believe they are greater than humans and refuse to use any of their achievements. I guess? That was what is said in the song.

I stared at the ceiling for a while and suddenly remembered my special day. It’s my first day of school here!

I stood up and fixed my bed and took a shower in the bathroom. You know, my usual morning routine. I wore my uniform, similar to the uniforms in South Korea, and double-checked the contents of my school bag before going downstairs.

“Good morning auntie, morning Lanzhuen…” I greeted the both of them when I saw them eating at the dining table. And you know why I only said ‘morning’ to Lanzhuen? It’s because my day was broken the moment I saw her face, and she didn’t even bother greeting me back nor looking at me.

Ugh, I won’t think about it anymore. I already have so many problems, I won’t let her be my problem either.

“Good morning Cate.” Auntie Tina greeted me back and called me by my nickname she had made herself. It brought back memories to me as it is also my nickname in the human world.

“Bye Auntie! I will get going!” I bid her goodbye when I finished eating breakfast. “Bye! Have a safe trip!” she also waved her hand and with that, I went outside the gate and started to walk to school. It is a good thing Lanzhuen is not going with me because my morning will be thoroughly broken.

Huh? Who are those kids? I asked myself when I saw the figure of one girl and one boy walking casually. And they are kids! Oh? Sanie and Kael?

With that in mind, I ran towards them. “Hi! Why is it just you two?” I asked and they immediately turned their heads on me.

“Ate Talia!” Kael greeted me with a hug on my hips. “Why aren’t even your guardians here?” I repeated my question.

“Ah, daddy does not send any older people with us when going to school.” Sanie answered me and just casually walked, but her mannerism seemed to show happiness.

“He said it is so that we can be independent.” Kael added, and also started walking.

Uhm, aren’t they just kids averaging 6-7 years old? What kind of parent would let their child go to school alone? I mean, dangers are always here and will never leave. But I guess they trust their children’s judgement and abilities enough to let them walk to school alone.

“Is that so? Want me to walk with you? I don’t have any with me, either.” I said, and matched their pace of walking.

“Yes! Yes! Come onnn!!!” Kael exclaimed with excitement and pulled me beside them.

When we arrived at school, I accompanied them to their building first before going to my classroom.

I just waited a bit while the other students were looking at me until the teacher finally entered the classroom.

“Good morning, class.” The teacher greeted us. He looks strict and he is wearing eyeglasses and his hair is quite white in some parts.

We stood up and greeted him back, “Good morning, sir.”

“So I am sure you already know me. But I will still introduce myself because we have a new student. I am Arian Regolles, you can call me Sir Ian and I am a science teacher. I came from different famous and successful schools such as AN, BZ, and many more. I am very strict, so you better follow my rules and always speak in English or you will be kicked out of my class. “ he introduced himself like he was not out of breath and he was willing to sacrifice the school hours just to introduce himself.

Wow, he sounds like he was only talking to me and is that still an ‘introduce yourself’? That already sounds like he was just bragging.

“Another day, another introduction of his.” I heard a student say in front of me.

“So may I call the student to come up front?” he said and just directly looked at me. Fuck, this feels like a Miss Universe Pageant.

I stood up and walked towards the blackboard. “Hi! I am Catte Lhein Anatalia! I am new to this university but I hope we can get along.” I introduced myself shortly. I almost had a nosebleed but it came back to my nose because what I said was not that long.

“Is that all? Like how old are you? Where are you from? Something like that?” he asked an additional question. Does it matter if I say it or not? I mean, most of them do not even care and just want to proceed with the lesson.

“Ah… I am really sorry but it’s censored.” I answered with an embarrassed face. I can’t say that I am from the human world, so I will just say whatever comes to mind.

“What do you mean censored!?” he asked irritatingly. “Uh… censored, like it is very private.” I replied and he just stared at me like he wanted to curse at me so badly. What’s wrong? Isn’t it my right to not say anything about my personal information?

“Uh… I already introduced myself… can I have my seat now?” I hesitantly asked and he just nodded and the moment I walked towards my seat, the students’ mouths were just left hanging and their eyes were opened wide. Huh? Is it because of my introduction? I am really sorry guys, but I can’t break the news to you all yet.

Sir Arian started teaching and I don’t know why, but there is nothing going on in my head and I am just staring into space. But I think it is okay for now, since he was just discussing the topics we are going to tackle in the next meetings.

His time is already finished—I mean, his teaching hours in our class are finished. Not that he is about to die. I heard some of my classmates sigh in relief after Sir Arian left like they were thinking ‘Thank goodness his class is already finished. I survived today’.

Not long after Sir Arian left, another teacher entered our classroom and I introduced myself like earlier. She is our math teacher, she looks kind and her makeup is only light. She also did not complain and say anything else after I introduced myself and just greeted me back, unlike Sir Arian.

She also just discussed our future topics until the lunch break bell rang. “Goodbye, class. I hope you are ready for our discussion next week.” She said and left our room. We also fixed our things before going out and walking to the cafeteria.

I was currently walking in the hallway when an arm suddenly wrapped around my shoulders. When I turned to see who it was, it was a woman and another two behind her.

“Hi!” the girl who was hanging her arms around me took her arms off and greeted me.

“Hello?” I greeted her back with a questioning ‘hello’ and shyly waved my hand.

“I am Cassie Andrada, 18 years old and I have a boyfriend.” The girl introduced herself. Her hair is waist level and is a little bit wavy. Her eyes are big and her face is round with her not so pouty lips and a small birthmark on her right cheek.

“I’m Nagie Cara, 17 years old and single, not double.” The girl beside her introduced herself. She had fair skin and slightly curved hair that was just shoulder level. Her face is round with round eyes and pouty and pinkish lips.

“And I am Jillian Dree Cuadrille, 18 years old, taken.” Said the girl beside Nagie. Compared to the two, she is the tallest one—about 6 feet tall, I think? Her hair is straight like it had just rebonded and was waist level. She is not that thin nor chubby. Her face is pretty with her big eyes, thick eyebrows, and thin lips.

“Hi, nice to meet you all. I’m Catte Lhein Anatalia, a sperm cell.” I introduced myself and we all laughed. “You should have said that earlier instead.” Regina said while still laughing.

“My goodness Catte, you shocked us earlier. You are the first one who answered like that to Sir Ian.” Cassie said with admiration while we were walking towards the cafeteria.

What? That was the same context Auntie Tina said last time when I talked back to Xavier, the 'Prince'. Do they have inferiority to someone that holds more power than them, or am I just too rude both times and they just respect them too much?

“I mean, isn’t it my right to not share any of my personal information?” I asked them and they all nodded in agreement. “Yep! That is why you should be part of our group as one of the students who had their unique self –introduction.” Cassie said and pulled me to a table.

“Sigh… by the way, where do you live?” Jillian asked me the moment we sat on the chair.

“Uh… do you know the nearest apartment here? I live there.” I answered without any hesitation. Why would I hesitate? That is where I live, not where I am from.

“Catte, there are so many apartments near DILIM U. We also can’t read your mind.” Regina sarcastically said. “DILIM U?” I asked.

“DILIM U, as in Dishelle Lim University, girl. You should at least know that.” Jillian answered, so I answered their question from earlier. “Oh…. I am staying at Tienai Ament.”

“What!? Tienai Ament!? As in Prince Xavier’s apartment!?” Cassie repeated with a shocked tone the moment they arrived at our table with our foods. “Huh? Yep. But I thought it was Amadeus’ godmother’s apartment?” I asked, because Amadeus mentioned that it was Auntie Tina’s.

“You are even friends with Prince Amadeus!?” they asked in synch. “What? No! I would never be friends with that bastard!” I answered, remembering the scene in the garden a few weeks ago. I still cannot forget about it, no matter how much I want to.

“But you are referring to him without his title and even calling him a bastard!” Cassie reasoned, so I quickly answered back. “Who could think that he is a respectful prince after what he did to me?”

“Huh?” they hummed in synch, but I didn’t get to explain more when a familiar voice shouted my name. Not that I will explain more, that kind of topic should not be casually shared with others.

"Old sis Talia!”

“Old sis Talia!”

I looked behind me and saw Xavier with the two children running towards me. It was okay and all but Kael hugged me all of a sudden which took me by surprise. I also my friends’ shocked and surprised expressions.

“Old sis Talia, I missed you!” Kael said and let go of the hug.

“Hi old sis Talia.” Sanie greeted me casually and sat beside me.

“How’s school earlier?” Xavier asked me once he arrived at our table. “So far so good. Why? Do you want to destroy the whole school? Don’t count me in, I am innocent.” I answered and looked like he was about to do a crime. But yes, it is a crime.

“What, Xavier!? You’re a traitor!” A woman suddenly spoke behind him. “My goodness, older sis! Do you even know sarcasm?” Xavier answered with irritation like he was always getting victimized by such reactions.

But… it’s his sister? She is pretty. I feel like my sexuality is going to curve because of her prettiness.

“Whatever you say…” his sister just ignored it and rolled her eyes before turning to look at me. “Hi, I am Dishelle Mae Lim. Xavier’s older sister.” She offered her hand for a hand shake, so I accepted it and also introduced myself.

“I’m Catte Lhein Anatalia! Nice to meet you!” I said with a bright tone.

“Oh, so you are that ‘Talia’ Kael and Sanie are mentioning nonstop?” she asked and I just smiled. “I have always heard your name from their mouths these past few weeks.” She added and I turned to the people she just mentioned. “You are talking about me?” I asked but Kael and Sanie just shyly smiled.

“Uh… have a seat.” I pointed at the vacant chair and they sat. I also introduced my new-found friends while Kael sat on my lap and was asking me to feed him the food I was eating. Thankfully, it is not any kind of meat. Xavier also ordered food for them.

“Kael ah, you are making me jealous. You always sit beside me whenever we are together. What happened?” Dishelle asked with a pained expression.

“She is prettier than you, Auntie. And do you know that she also treated me crepe when we played at the park?” Kael answered and proudly looked at me while grinning ear to ear. What is wrong with this kid? He likes pretty older sisters.

“You are not the only one she treated, Kael. She also treated me to a crepe. But she also said that it was so—“ I didn’t let Sanie finish her statement and covered her mouth immediately as I knew what she was going to talk about.

“Sanie! Stop it or I will not treat you again next time.” I threatened, but Dishelle said something that would probably change my life forever, “Don’t worry Sanie, just say it. I will treat you instead. What did older sis Talia say?” she said while smiling.

Sanie was about to speak again when Kael cut her off. “Older sis Sanie, if you say it then I will never talk to you again.” He said and crossed his arms. Does he even remember what I said that time? I bet he already forgot about it but Sanie just acted like she was zipping her lips.

“What did you say?” Dishelle asked me, referring to what I said at the park. “What?” Xavier interfered while holding a tray and slowly distributed the foods.

“The thing she said when she bought Sanie and Kael a crepe.” She said and turned to look at me. “So, what is it?”

“Fine, I said it was really delicious.” Of course that was a lie.

“Nope, that’s not what she—“ Sanie corrected, but Kael cut her off, “Old sis Sanie!”

“I know that our products are delicious but it looks like you are lying.” She said and smirked at me, so I just pouted.

“Is it really necessary for me to say it? I mean, what I said is worthless.” I said, still hoping she would just drop the subject.

“Of course, our customers’ feedback is needed. After all, aside from them saying it is delicious, we need their observations to improve our business.” She answered and smiled. The fuck? They own that? What she said made me pale. I’m doomed.

“So, what is it, Catte?” she urged me to speak and leaned closer.

“I-I-I said……” I couldn’t continue what I was going to say and looked at her. She just hummed, waiting for the last part. “I-it was s-so e-e-expens-s-ive.” Oh shit, I said it. I am ready to die.

I just heard them laugh. Even my speechless friends cannot help it anymore and laughed.

“You’re doomed.” Kael whispered in my ears.

“Expensive? Should we lower the price? But the ingredients and quality will drop at the same time. Is it okay with you? But you said it is expensive.” She asked me with a business woman tone, so I rejected it quickly.

“No, I just didn’t have any money at that time…. That’s why….” They just laughed at me after hearing me say that.

“Stop laughing! Older sis Talia might feel hurt because you are laughing at her for being poor!” Kael tried to defend me but I think it was an innocent insult so I just played along with it. “Aw… Kael is my only ally..”

When they finally calmed down, Xavier talked about a different subject, so they ended up dropping the current subject. My friends are not that talkative like earlier and it is maybe because there are four royal bloods, conversing casually in front of them.

Kael just casually pulls my hair lightly to make me feed him. Seriously, isn’t he already six or seven years old? But anyway, I still like it when a child always clings onto me. Perhaps it was because I was the one who took care of my little sibling and ended up always following me wherever I went when I was still in the human world.

We were casually and happily conversing when a voice suddenly shouted Xavier’s name with an endearment. Yuck.

“Xavier! Babe!” we turned to where that voice came from and I was shocked to see Lanzhuen running towards us. I mean, I am not shocked that they are in a relationship with each other since I saw, with my virgin eyes, their passionate kiss. But I was shocked because she just shamelessly ran towards us, who were having a good time, like a desperate wife.

“Who are you?” Dishelle asked her but she just answered without respect.

“I am Lanzhuen. Xavier’s girlfriend. Go away, you whore.” She sat beside Xavier and clung her arms to Xavier’s arms.

I am the one who was doomed earlier but… Lanzhuen, you poor little girl….. you are definitely doomed.
