Chapter 42

'hey guys, nice to see you again, didn't know you were still around' says the rogue.
'yeah we decided to do some quests around here before leaving and all happened to see your quest too late'
'it's a good thing we sent you then'
'yes, we are lucky to find so many adventurers to join us' says one of the guild men.
'we have been clearing the underground area and forest all this while but it it seems the ain hive has already move on'
'I expected as much, we have encountered some creatures on the way here that weren't there before'
'so where do we go now?' interjects the healer.'
'I believe we should go near a river deeper in the mountains, that would be the ideal spot to sustain such large numbers' says the elf archer.
'I agree, that river will take a few more days so let's head out'

We march on and the days pass quickly.
We encounter the first warrior finje, the decision was right.
'there they are are, a large number of them right out in the open'
'I'll stay with tara, come here if you need healing everyone'
'Let's go!' yells the warriors.
Along with the new arrivals the finje stand no chance.
Even this warrior finje stood no chance as the adventurers went forward and the warriors were back up with magic.
RAAAAH
The sounds of crushed bee wasps are heard constantly as they make short work of them.
Each of the new arrivals have 5 members, that's the standard team number, though 4 is common as well but they usually add a member as they go along.
That's 25 extra manpower, including me that makes 40 altogether.
A majority of warrior builds followed by mages, archers and other builds.
We easily advance onwards, this is a large group afterall.
'there is the river, there should be an entrance to the underground path they take'
'let's split up in 3 and search for it' says the rogue.
The path is found soon enough and another round of breaking through it is needed.
'tara-kun can you dig again?' asks the healer with pleading eyes.
hmph, well there's no helping it is there.

Digging spots are clear and big spells are launched all around.
BOOM
The ground breaks and we have our entrance.
'LOOK AT ALL THOSE BEES'
A swarm of finje are down there.
Atleast a hundred thousand of them.
They begin ascending but we have the high ground.
'FIRE YOUR SPELLS'
'fireball' 10x
A series of fireballs go off and the finje are burned well.
'lightning' 3x
'magic blast' 3x
Some use other spells and they are effective too.
Arrows are fired and they all hit with these number of targets.
They still come through which is when the non mages come in, swiping them down in mid air.
'there's too many of them!'
'just keep attacking'
More come out, like an endless stream of water.
Eventually the warriors are beginning to take damage and the entire group is slowly pulling back.
'it's just some scratches, we don't need to retreat'
YAAAH
The warriors hack away a decent number but their endurance is running out.
'we're going to run of mana soon, what do we do'
Already? but there's still a ton of them coming out and we haven't even hit the main hive area yet.
'how can there be so many of them'

I try to seal the entrances we made with my spider webs but it doesn't hold them off for long.
Every bit helps though so I keep doing it.
Plenty of finje caught in the web balls I throw around.
AARGH
A mage and warrior are stung, we are beginning to fall apart now.
'that's enough, let's retreat for now' says the rogue.
I carry the 2 injured and we go off.

The swarm follows us but we still the mages blasting them as we retreat.

Eventually we reach further off and other creatures begin attacking the finje as well.

Lucky break, we manage to get away.
Healing the injured and relaxing now.
'that was a good run' says the guild men.
'that was too much, how will we ever deal with the rest? we should just leave it to A rank adventurers' says the healer.
'it's going to take all night to recover our stenght so let's just call it a day' says the mages who look like they can't go on anymore.
'there's going to be less of them tommorow, let's just keep this up' says the rogue.
Everyone silently agrees.
