Blood… blood is in the sink…

Fuck… I feel dizzy and miserable, my head is pounding like a motherfucker.

My vision got very blurry for a moment, and I think my health even fluctuated briefly…

The demon Aku’s voice plays in my head. That fucker what the hell kind of gift is this, I wish it had a receipt with it so I could return it.

I look up at myself in the mirror above the sink, and I see my face is pale, and my eyes are bloodshot from coughing so damn hard. There is a strand of blood and saliva dripping from my mouth so I wipe it.

I look at my shirtless chest and I see that damn curse marking, it hurts and burns so fucking bad, and it looks different from when Tana first healed it, it now looks purple and bruised.

This past week ever since I woke up after my fight with Sebal my curse has made me feel like shit periodically throughout the days, no amount of healing can remove the effects from this damn curse.

I don’t remember much but the curse seems to make me pretty powerful, Sebal was a total monster but it was apparently strong enough to break every bone in his body. I’m glad he got what he deserved for trying to bone Claire, I wish I could’ve watched his ass get beat.

But the drawbacks from that curse power are totally unreal, It’s definitely not worth it.

It’s also crazy and hard to believe that I actually killed a person, it’s crazier than I thought it would be, I remember the look on Hideki’s face when I dropped his ass and ended the man’s life. I guess that makes me a killer now, it feels weird and different than killing a monster, but I had no choice and I guess it comes with being an adventurer in this world.

I wish my vape was charged, I’ve been going through serious withdrawal from nicotine, and I’ve getting chills from it, ever since Claire took the last hit and it died. Jeez that girl is something else.

I have been buying cigars to get some nicotine whenever I get the chance, it’s a lot rougher than my vape, but it gets the job done.

I wash my blood down the sink as I regain myself. I have to come down to the bathes at the inn to use a sink or bathroom, because that is the only place in the building with water.

I pour myself a cup of water from the sink and take a much needed sip of water before I get dressed and leave the bathes.

I leave the bathes and stumble down the halls to head back to my room.

I am then surprised in the hallway by a certain cute purple hair girl, wearing a purple night gown.

“Huh, Chandler? What are you doing up at this hour? It’s super early and the sun isn’t even close to coming up. (Claire)

“Oh hey Claire, I was just thirsty and was getting some water. I could ask you the same thing, why are you up right now?” (Chandler)

I can’t tell her why I’m actually up, the last thing I want to do is make this girl worry about me.

“It’s nothing really, I’m just having trouble sleeping.” (Claire)

“Same here if I’m being honest.” (Chandler)

Claire blushes a little bit, and looks away.

“H-how about you come.. into my room for a bit since we are both having trouble sleeping… you know..” (Claire)

Hold on a minute! Is she asking what I think she’s asking!

Claire notices the surprised look on my face that I didn’t even realize I was making at first, and her face turns completely red and she gets totally flustered.

“N-NO… THAT ISN’T WHAT I MEANT AT ALL! I mean… we can just talk and keep each other company for a bit since we are both having trouble sleeping..”

Jeez this girl, she had me shocked for a second, guess it was too good to be true.

I laugh a little, then give her a sincere smile.

“It’s alright Claire I sorta get what you’re saying, sure that sounds good to me.” (Chandler)

I follow Claire to her room.

Claire and Tana share a room together in the Inn, it’s the room right right next to room I usually stay in. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever been in Claire and Tana’s room. I’m mildly nervous I’ve never been in a girls room other than my sisters room.

We walk into her room and I see a handful of spell books on the dresser, everything is super clean and neat, it’s exactly what I’d expect from her.

However on the other side of the room there is a second bed and dresser. The other side of the room is super messy and there is stuff all over the place. On that side of the room I see a tiny fox girl spread out on the bed and is obnoxiously sleeping.

Claire looks even more nervous and flustered, it’s so damn cute!

I rush over to the bed and rest my head in Claire’s lap.

“Try not to get too excited, you don’t wanna wake up Tana.” (Claire)

Claire sighs, and fidgets her thighs around slightly.

“It’s kinda embarrassing to say but honestly I’m a little nervous about tomorrow, having to return back home to the capital to testify against Sebal, and to see my family…” (Claire)

I think this is why she’s still up and acting weird tonight. There’s something really bothering her.

“What’s wrong with you’re family?” (Chandler)

“It’s mostly my father, but you’ll understand when you meet them.” (Claire)

“I don’t know a damn thing about you’re family but don’t let you’re family bring you down. I know a thing or two about families making things difficult, in my old world my father took my whole family besides me and my two older brothers away to move to a faraway place called Florida. Don’t worry about you’re family name I think you’re really awesome Claire.” (Chandler)

Claire pauses for a moment, I can’t see her facial expression due to the wonderful position I’m laying in.

“Thanks for that Chandler, I don’t know what a Florida is, but I really appreciate you, it means a lot.” (Claire)

“Don’t worry about tomorrow if someone causes a problem for you, I’ll kick their ass. You have absolutely nothing to worry about I’ll be by your side the whole time.” (Chandler)

Claire lays back in her bed and laughs.

“Ha ha ha, I bet you would.” (Claire)

We go silent for a bit, and then I hear her quietly and peacefully start sleeping.

I don’t want her to worry about tomorrow, I’m glad she was able to fall asleep, I wonder what her family is like? I wonder why going back to the capital has her this worried…

I’m starting to get pretty tired myself…
