Chapter 52

The streets are quiet and empty, seems they saw me coming a while ago.
How? and where are all the guards?
We reach the guild and it's full, I hear the word arachne so they were talking about me but now it's silent.
'hey isn't that it'
'yeah what do we do?'
'it's stronger than just a giant spider isn't it?'
As they gossip I head further in, they all spread out and are on guard.
'ahem, I guess the people outside said something about us but we're adventurers too and this is our mount monster' says the rogue.
The healer looks at her for saying monster but it can't be helped.
They calm down a bit but still tense.
The guild master of the place arrives, he looks like a middle aged fisherman and hunter in one.
Doesn't look strong but he does look experienced.
We go in to the back to talk.

We really don't have anything to talk about though since we didn't come here for any particular reason.
'why are you here, it's unusual to see adventurers from other places around these parts, it's just a normal coastal line afterall'
'we just happened to pass by so we thought we could help with some quests too'
'oh, then that's fine'
'we already completed our B rank promotion quest but since it would take too long to go back to the capital's main guild we kept exploring the region'
'that's good to know however that means I can't give you A rank missions just yet, well there is one quest that's been taking a while to finish'
That seems dangerous huh, if it takes that long means there's more to it than just the quest, that means more work too.
'it's a B rank quest, a basic culling of the demons near here'
'just the usual kinds?'
'yes but somehow it hasn't been dealt with yet so we will offer extra rewards depending on what the problem is'
'we should be fine with normal demons now right' asks the rogue to the others.
'I suppose so as long as we don't over do it' answers the elf.
'my healing can also destroy demons so we are better off against them'
We take on the quest and head out.
'they are finally gone, they might be trouble'

We head into town but no one is here.
'how scared can you be?'
We just leave the money on the stall and grab what we need.
The demons are usually on the mountain sides, they are trying to get a foothold in areas but to no avail.
No race likes them since they are aggressive and evil though they do have some strongholds they control.
What about the good demons? would they even be demons then?
