Chapter 53

As we head to the demon are for the quest we find one in front of us.
A lone demon.
It's bigger than a human and it's a grey, black color.
This is a good chance to see how we compare to one demon as a group.
I spray my web around and create a tent like structure around us.
It's not thick so you can likely escape but it's still sticky so it won't be easy.
The rogue gets off to fight and the other girls stay on me readying their own moves.
Rogue starts the fight by throwing her daggers, the demon swats them away.
Elf shoots some arrows but they are dodged.
Hitting an enemy that's nimble and has a fast reaction time isn't easy.
Demons are usually rank C but are overall balanced in every area.
The demon casts a fireball, it's not that big but it's still a ball of fire coming at us.
Elf counters those shots with precision and the fight drags on.
It's keeping its distance from me enough so I can't easily get to it, I don't want it to run away or we will be in trouble if the others know we are coming.
The demon attacks again, this time directly towards the rogue, she manages to block its claws with a dagger.
Arrow shots come in for support but are dodged, seems it's a stalemate like this.
I guess this is our level without us going serious but playtime is over.
I shoot out more webs and overwhelm it, it runs to the open side like I want and there it's met by a magic arrow.
KABOOM
It explodes and it's heavily injured, during that moment it is staggering the rogue heads in and finishes it with a strike to the neck.
We seem like a real B rank team now.
We take the whole body in our item bag for proof, we can't clear the whole area but the quest is to cut down their numbers so we have to have proof of that.

Heading further into the mountain area we see that fish man again, it killed some demons and is now going back with them to the seas.
They regularly hunt on land? maybe the ocean has too much competition.
We let it go and find more demons, this time we have the ambush advantage.
Quick strikes manage to take out all 4 of them.
Nothing off about this so far so we head on further in.
There is a big cave nearby which they are obviously in but it's way too dangerous so we ignore it.
As we pass by it we hear a scream.
HELP
Someone is there, it's a woman's voice, she must have recently been captured.
HELP ME
It's loud, too loud, it's a blistering scream that a human can't do.
We head inside at faster pace, it would be bad if I go slow and get cornered or trapped.
The path way of the cave is big, they must have dug it out more, this is good for me since I can move better.
The entrance guards are nearby but they are no match for me, a quick slash and they are dealt with.
More and more get killed as I run down the path, I am like a train.
The archer and rogue are prepared and the healer has begun healing already even though I'm not even injured yet.
A fork on the path appears, we can't split up so we just have to make a choice.
3 ways, luckily another scream erupts and we can tell it comes from straight ahead.
A larger room is found and we see several women there.
It's where they keep their human captives they are going to eat.
Several are already dead but the one that's screaming is that one.
A mermaid?
