Chapter 3:

Powers!?

Ane And His Seames

"What's up?" Ane asked as he eyed Ene.

"Eina betrayed you. She had some guys kidnap Lana." Ene said bluntly. Ane froze.

"W-what? This isn't the time for jokes. Especially such a terrible one." he stated.

"This ain't a joke, Ane." Ene said gravely. Ane stood there silently; eyes shielded. "Eina works for an organization called S.O.I.T and if we don't rescue Lana soon from them she might end up dead." Ene remarked. Ane punched through a desk and Ene stared.

"Where did Eina take her?" Ane growled.

"I have a theory. It might be that branch building." Ene answered.

"Take me there." Ane commanded as he turned to Ene; his visible eye full red. Ene gulped.

"N-not yet." he remarked. "There's not gonna be your typical thugs holding typical weapons. These people have powers." Ene added.

"Powers?" Ane asked as he saw flashes of some distorted memories. Ene nodded.

"You crushed that desk just now with but a punch. Now, some normal people can do such a feat but did you not feel any type of rush? Any type of aura flowing through your veins?" Ene inquired.

"I-I'm not sure. Could it be...?" Ane began.

"Yes, I'm guessing you have super strength or rather strength adjustment. Thus, you are  most likely a red element." Ene interrupted.

"Red element?" Ane asked.

"These powers originate from something called elemental power. Nobody knows the true origin of this power. These powers are everywhere in the universe being used by most beings. These powers are separated into your basic elements like fire, water, earth, etc. Besides those basics there are other types classified as legendary but the one we should focus on is yours; the one considered the strongest elemental power to exist." Ene explained.

"How does it work?" Ane questioned.

"How it works is rather unknown actually. To be more precise; there's no exact way to use it. The reason is that the red element is rather random. All red elements have different powers and abilities. Some related elementals might have the same powers but yeah..." Ene replied.

"So one of my abilities is super strength." Ane said while holding his chin to then grin.

"One more thing. You told Eina and I you lost your memories before right?" Ene asked.

"Yup." Ane replied.

"I might have a way to trigger the memory of the way your power works." Ene remarked.

"And then..." Ane began.

"We can go save Lana." Ene concluded; grinning.

Ane stood across Ene. "Do it." Ane said. Ene sat in the window.

"Does the word Seame mean anything to you?" Ene asked. Ane's eyes widened.

A young Lana smiled at Ane. "Ane, please become my Patralier. I want to be your first Seame." Lana said as she wrapped her arms around Ane's neck.

Present Ane screamed as he held his head in pain and fell to his knees. "I...I still don't get it." he remarked panting. "What the hell is a Patralier?" he asked; eying Ene.

"There are contracts in this whole elemental thing which apparently originated from a huge spaceship as big as this galaxy or even bigger which is run by a Carter guy. His origins are a mystery to me." Ene said.

"Carter....sounds familiar." Ane thought.

"Anyway, Carter created these contracts using some special wave link in our souls which determined what we were. There are Patraliers, Patralierres, Seames and Searmes. Patraliers are the masters who create contracts with Seames; their servants. When this contract is formed; many new abilities can be used by the two and not to mention their powers get a slight boost as well. One of the basic abilities the contract provides is fusion. Contracts can only be formed with the opposite sex though which I absolutely don't mind. Although fusion is possible between two fellow Patraliers since one of the two can temporarily substitute as a Searme although the Patralier powers alone make this fusion possible. The contracts between Master and Servant is permanent though and the only proper way to sever it is by the master's will." Ene explained.

"That's a lot. How do you even know this?" Ane inquired.

"I'm a Patralier as well and my element is fire." Ene replied.

"So you kept this from me?" Ane remarked as he stared at the ceiling.

"I'm sorry. I had my reasons." Ene stated; eyes shielded.

"Well never mind that. Let's go save Lana!" Ane yelled as he turned to the door. "And Ene; we might have to fight Eina. Be ready for that." he continued before walking out.

"I know and that fact still isn't pleasant." Ene thought as he followed Ane out.

Ane and Ene sat in some bushes scoping some armed guards. "Who'd have thought I could have flown my entire life." Ane whispered. Ene grinned.

"All elemental beings can...I think." he said. "So, the guards?" he asked after; eying the armed individuals.

"We take them out." Ane remarked; punching his palm.

"They got guns though." Ene pointed out.

"Um, so? We ain't normal humans." Ane said while rushing out.

"Oh boy. I doubt those guns are normal either Ane." Ene thought.

"Stop right there!" a guard exclaimed as they pointed their guns at Ane who grinned.

"No way in hell!" he yelled as he continued charging. The guards sprayed bullets at Ane who jumped into the air and dived forward; punching the ground. Earth spat away some guards and the other guards shot at Ane. Ene jumped next to Ane and sprayed heat from his hands. The bullets melted and the teens grinned.

"Let's do this!" they yelled in unison. The guards surrounded the boys angrily.

"Switch to Earth elemental bullets!" one of them shouted. The guards' guns seemed to turn slightly brown.

"Oh crap." Ene thought with a frown.

"Is that bad?" Ane asked as he backed up.

"Fire!" a guard exclaimed. Bullets sprayed from their guns.

"I might have to use...THAT!" Ene thought; clenching his teeth.

"Red Elemental Style: Speed Adjustment X2." Ane yelled as he seemed to flash to Ene and flash behind the guards and their bullets with his best friend. "The hell was that?" he asked himself.

"It seems your brain triggered some muscle memory and you used another ability of yours. Superspeed." Ene remarked as he and Ane turned to the guards who backed away in shock.

"Switch to Nature Elemental bullets!" one of them shouted. Their guns turned dark green and they immediately opened fire on the teens.

"My turn." Ene said grinning. "Flame on!" he yelled to then be engulfed by flames all over. The bullets all turned to ash before they could reach the teens. The guards frowned.

"These guys!" one exclaimed.

"It's about time we end this." Ane said; shoving his hands into his pockets and staring at the guards coldly.

"I was thinking the same thing." Ene said as he eyed the guards as well; cracking his knuckles. The duo stood by each other coolly; glaring at the armed guards.
