Chapter twenty-seven: The councils domain

After travelling for a while, the group found themselves inside the city the closest area to the council

“We should be on high alert around here, shouldn’t we?” Anna asked

“Actually, this is the safest place for us to be considering the council wouldn’t want to to destroy or harm the city” Enia responded

“Oh, so we can just head to their tower” Lucy said

“Yep, we can” Enia said as they all began to walk onwards

“So where is the council anyway?” Lucy asked

“The giant tower in the middle of the city” Enia said pointing towards the largest tower with the most threatening aura giving the whole group shivers.

“Wait that’s like a five-minute walk” Kristin said

“Are we really about to Finish up our journey?” Freyja asked

“No, we still have to actually kill them remember” Anna said. The group wandered down to the towers entrance not encountering a single enemy on the way there until they actually entered the building where they found a single person.

“So, you finally arrive” the man said as he turned around

“My name is Jeremy and I’ll defeat you all” the man said but before he could make a move Lucy had

decapitated the man

“Enough with the small fry let’s get these mother fuckers” Lucy said everyone else cheered as they charged into the elevator and were taken to the top floor where the council resided. The elevator ride was an awkward ride nobody talked for a little while until Anna spoke up

“Are you guys sure you’re ready for this?” Anna asked

“Ready as I’ll ever be although I’m a bit nervous” Lucy said everyone else nodded in agreement the nervous air in the elevator interrupted by a ding as the doors opened

“Who dares to come before the council” a voice said

“Us the people you’ve been trying to stop” Lucy said finally seeing the council four members stood before her their presence was enough to make Kristin shiver After a moment of nervous silence Lucy spoke Again

“I hope you’re ready to die you sons of bitches” Lucy yelled brandishing her scythe as everyone brandished their weapons ready to fight till their last breath

“Fine we’ll entertain you for this brief moment” one of them said as they did one of the members disappeared taking Enia with them. Soon after another member tackled Lucy taking her to another room. As another one moved Anna to another room in an instant leaving all but Kristin, Freyja and one council member in the room.

“My name is fauna I’m the fourth ranked council member representing nature” the women said standing from her chair getting ready to fight her flowing dress reminded Kristin of a wedding dress and her hair was a beautiful shade of bright green that reminded Freyja of the grass she could find in the slums.

Chapter twenty-eight: Nature’s beauty

Freyja took a position in-front of Kristin to try and defend her as Kristin began to form into a position to attack

“You’re both out of sync how disappointing” Fauna said as the room began to be filled with plant life the room taking on a green tint

“I’ll explain my power to you lowly creatures it’s nature creation I’m able to create, manipulate and combine any type of plant” Fauna said as vines began to grow inside of the room and flowers bloomed in cracks of the floor. As Fauna commanded the vines within the room to grab Kristin and Freyja they began to argue

“Some sort of shield you are” Kristin said trying to keep hold of her trident

“It would be easier if you weren’t so aggressive” Freyja said trying to not let her neck get snapped by the vines

“Would you two shut up god you’re annoying” Fauna said the grip of the vines tightening on the two

“If you weren’t a suck up to Enia then maybe we wouldn’t be like this” Freyja said as she grabbed the vines to try and stop them from squeezing.

“Me? A suck up? You’re the one who’s sucking up to Lucy” Kristin argued as she was being dragged by the vines still trying to to take her weapon. Fauna was clearly annoyed by their arguing as she clenched her fists the vines grip only grew tighter.

“You’re honestly so disgusting the both of you” Fauna yelled as she did vines wrapped around Guras legs tightly causing her to squeal in pain this moment made something click in Freyja as she realised what was happening everything she had said flashed before her all the moments of joy with her group then and only then did Freyja realise, she was ruining the only real friendship she had. All the times she would have taken beatings for others down in the slums all the times she wished for death in the slums and how that changed when she was able to meet all these wonderful people that had accepted her and how Lucy made that promise the night they met those words she promised giving Freyja hope for the world.

“Kristin, I got a plan but you’ve gotta promise me you won’t react to badly after we kill this bitch” Freyja said

“Sure, just as long as you kill her” Kristin yelled back as more vines grabbed her and began to squeeze. After Kristin finished Freyja stopped resisting the vines ripping her in half

“What the fuck Freyja?” Kristin asked as the vines that were holding Freyja began to let go

“These aren’t any use anymore I guess” Fauna said as she did the plant began to whittle away losing all their colour as they began to crumple and turned to dust

“Now I’ll deal with you stupid amphibian” Fauna said as the Vines grabbed Guras neck and began to squeeze Guras face turning purple as she was unable to breath.

Chapter twenty-nine: Natures dark side

The life in Guras eyes was beginning to fade as Fauna squeezed tighter Guras final thoughts were not those of sorrow but those of how much she hated Freyja. As she closed her eyes one final time, she heard that voice she hated so much

“Kristin, don’t you die on me” Freyja yelled running up to the vines incasing Kristin as she began to chip away at them with her shield

“Kristin when you can I need you to chomp down on the vines with your shark jaw alright” Freyja said as she continued to chip away the vines grip began to loosen. Kristin took a deep breath of fresh air as she chomped down on the vines to her surprise, they broke away pretty easily. Their combined efforts Kristin and Freyja were able to destroy the vines and get Guras weapon back.

“How’d you know the vines were so weak?” Kristin asked

“I figured the more vines Fauna created the weaker they would get” Freyja said as she adjusted herself in front of Kristin

“No, no let’s fight Side by side” Kristin said as she stood up next to Freyja.

“So, what your besties now because she saved your life?” Fauna asked as she clenched her fist

“We were always besties it just so happens we were going through a little fight” Kristin said as her and Freyja began to rush Fauna who created a wall of tree roots in front of herself to guard herself from the assault, but Freyja was able to bust through her defence although it wasn’t the best idea as Fauna had prepared a nasty attack. As Freyja opened up the wall she was blasted by obnoxious gas

“It’s a toxic pollen I made it’ll eat away at you form the inside” Fauna said stepping out from her fort

“You didn’t inhale any did you Kristin?” Freyja asked as she began to cough up blood

“No, I’ll be fine” Kristin said as she stepped in front of Freyja to attempt to protect her from Fauna

“That won’t work Kristin because I’ll just kill you too” Fauna said as she did Kristin felt the ground start to shake as a giant fly trap erupted from the floor beneath them

“Behold one of my most precious creations” Fauna said as vines began to move towards Kristin and Freyja. Freyja was still recovering from the pollen, so Kristin had to fend for herself till Freyja was able to help. Just like before the vines weren’t that strong but what was annoying was the giant fly trap it constantly leaked some sweet-smelling liquid that would melt through the floorboards it hit. As Kristin kept destroying the vines she was inevitably hit by one causing her to lose her balance and get caught by the vines. Freyja just getting up noticed Kristin’s helpless situation called out to Kristin who just held her breath as she was devoured whole by the fly trap. Freyja stood up the vines had already begun to attack her, but she was able to dodge and destroy the vines that continued their assault preforming feats she thought she couldn’t do as she approached Fauna rapidly who only stood and laughed at the duo.

“You really think you can kill me? You worthless piece of trash” Fauna said as she created more vines and more pollen Freyja finding hard to stand had begun to lose hope.

Chapter thirty: freaks of nature

As Freyja began to lose hope, she fell to the floor all that she thought about was how hopeless it was they could never defat the council. It was only seconds before she was taken by the vines that she heard someone call out her name

“Freyja damn it you can’t lose yet we gotta kill them together, right?” Kristin asked as she was able to cut her way through the supposed gut of the fly trap as she shot out falling near Freyja as she was falling, she began spin her trident destroying the vines that had begun to surround her landing in front of Freyja and reaching her hand out.

“One more time, ay partner” Kristin said still covered in the slime

“How aren’t you melting right now” Freyja asked wiping the tears from her eyes as she grabbed Kristin’s hand getting up off the ground

“Certain marine life has pretty tough scales so cotted my skin in said scales meaning I’m going to be a-ok” Kristin said with a smug grin on her face. Turning around to face fauna who was already shaking with anger

“You damned freaks of nature just die already” She yelled creating roots that began to shoot towards the pair Freyja was able to block the first root and subsequently bash it with her shield destroying the thing in a matter of seconds. Kristin used Freyja as a stepping stool as she jumped from her back onto the top of a root and began to run towards Fauna Freyja doing the same next to her, they were in perfect sync at that moment Freyja blocking any roots or vines that Came swinging from the left as Kristin destroyed any parts of the root that began to extend as well as roots and vines from the right. It was a beautiful display of dance Fauna began to summon the root wall again completely blocking them from hitting her. However, they hadn’t lost hope yet as Freyja slammed through the roots Kristin jumping onto her back Freyja was able to smash through the roots quicker and harder than before all the momentum she had continued as she crashed in Fauna who hadn’t a moment to prepare enough pollen to kill both of them. After she was knocked into a wall Fauna began to laugh manically as she reached out again this time summoning a final new plant this one confused the two as it was just a giant flower.

“It’s my masterpiece it produces pollen that will kill any and everything in a matter of time” Fauna explained as the bulb in the centre of the flower opened up Pollen began to spread realising, they had to do something fast the two came to an idea as they locked eyes knowing they knew exactly what to do. Freyja picked up Kristin and positioned her on her shoulder Fauna only just looking at the two was confused at what they were trying to accomplish. Within only a couple of seconds Freyja had thrown Kristin at Fauna. Although Fauna wasn’t so stupid as to let Kristin attack her head on as she summoned roots to protect herself although it was futile as Freyja’s shield ended crashing though the roots and hitting the wall behind Fauna before she could react Kristin smashed into her knocking Fauna to the fall

“Who’s a freak of nature know huh?” Kristin asked before she could kill Fauna Freyja hopped in grabbing her shield.

“You know to destroy that flower we are going to have to kill you right?” Freyja asked

“Good luck you could never kill me” Fauna said as Freyja handed Kristin her trident

“I believe this is yours” Freyja said as Kristin took it

“Indeed, it is madam” Kristin said as she sunk the Trident into Fauna’s neck killing her instantly. The plant had also disappeared. As it did Freyja and Kristin let out a sigh as they fell back finally, they were one step closer to their goal

“Let’s wait here for the others to finish up their fights ey” Kristin suggested

“Yea that’s a good idea” Freyja said lying down staring at the ceiling.

Chapter thirty-one: a trip through space

“Where the am I?” Enia asked looking around all she could see was rusted and run-down buildings and Cars that hadn’t been touched in God knows how long

“You’re standing in someplace called times square” A voice said

“And who might you be?” Enia asked looking at the figure who was sitting atop a lamp post

“I’m Vselennya the second ranked council member representing space” The person said as they jumped down from the post landing a distance away from Enia.

“My power is telekinesis I’ve trained it my whole life, so I’ve gotten pretty strong” Vselennya said their face remained neutral.

“Do you feel any emotions?” Enia asked conjuring a blade of antimatter

“No, they are unnecessary” Vselennya responded as he lifted a taxi into the air and threw at Enia who was able to slice it with her sword. Vselennya began to pick up and throw more things at Enia who was able to dodge most of what was thrown anything she couldn’t dodge she’d destroy. After a little back and forth Enia was able charge at Vselennya at the perfect angle placing her blade in place she began to charge aiming for Vselennya’s chest as she got closer all her momentum was killed as she was lifted into the air

“Useless tactic try better next time” Vselennya said throwing Enia back as she hit the remnants of a billboard and fell to the ground cushioning her landing with antimatter, she was able to hide behind a car. Before Enia could think about what to do the car, she was hiding behind was lifted into the air and came crashing back down nearly crushing Enia.

“You don’t play nice, do you?” Enia asked teasing Vselennya

“Negative my goal is to kill you so I will” Vselennya responded as he began to pick up random debris and throw it at Enia. Enia was beginning to show signs of fatigue as all she was doing was dodging. Conjuring a ball of antimatter as she threw it at Vselennya in a last-ditch effort to stop his assault as the ball travelled Vselennya attempted to stop it but couldn’t as the ball was about to crash into him, he summoned pieces of the pavement in front of himself to absorb the impact successfully. Enia was able to notice his failure to control her antimatter. Enia decided to create a wall of antimatter Vselennya was unable to act on the wall as Enia predicted so it gave her time to think of how to deal with this enemy.

“You can’t hide for ever Enia” Vselennya said as emotionless as before as he did Enia heard a crash into the wall

“I figured out your secret” Enia said as the wall she was behind started to fade away

“Secret what secret would I have to hide?” Vselennya asked a little panicky it was the first real emotion he had shown since starting the fight

“You’re not a telekinetic you actually manipulate matter” Enia said as the wall disappeared revealing her standing facing Vselennya with a determined look in her eyes one that said she was ready for anything he could throw at her.

“Yea you’re right but this information won’t help you in the long run” Vselennya said regaining his composure putting on his signature stone cold face

Chapter thirty-two: an emotionless killer

Vselennya and Enia were right back where they started physically but now Enia knew Vselennya’s secret and had already thought of a plan

“Make your move” Vselennya said standing tall as he staired Enia down his gaze seemingly locking Enia in place

“I assure you it will be your last” Vselennya continued as Enia conjured another blade of antimatter to use as a defence tactic in case of Vselennya’s attacks just as she thought more objects had begun to appear around Vselennya as they did Enia began conjuring antimatter objects. This was not a fight of strength, but a fight of intimidation which either one of the twos hearts wavered first would lose.

“You’re heart doesn’t waver how curious” Vselennya said as he said this the floor beneath the two began to crack

“Although your unwavering heart won’t save you from my power” Vselennya said as the crushed pavement below them began to float into the sky. Vselennya began to form a fist raising his fist to the air as he did Vselennya began to speak

“Now perish” as he said this he brung his fist down at the same time the debris in the air came crushing down. Enia tried to dodge the attack weaving, slashing and dashing however it was too much as a large piece of debris fell crushing Enia underneath it

“Good I’ll return to the tower and I guess I’ll help out the weaker ones” Vselennya said as turning away from the bolder that had crushed Enia. Vselennya began to teleport away slowly his body began to to fade away when suddenly he guarded himself from a attack as he blocked the attack the wall seemed to be disseminated his body returning as he become apparent again

“You honestly think that would be enough to kill me?” Enia asked holding another orb of antimatter she was completely unscathed

“How are you uninjured” Vselennya asked

“When you squashed me with the rock I was able to get a portal underneath it so as I was squashed I really just went through the portal to another safe place” Enia explained as she did she began to materialise a sword of antimatter in her hand a look of determination ready in her eyes one she has never had before.

“You’re getting on my nerves” Vselennya said as he continued his assault

“That won’t work on me anymore” Enia said with one slash of her sword she was able to destroy every thing coming towards her in a singe swing her. With this impressive feat of strength Vselennya was visibly nervous Enia had finally cracked him and made his heart waver.

Chapter thirty-three: Baja blast

Enia began to charge at Vselennya as she did Vselennya began to throw what ever he could at Enia who was able to destroy it all in a single strike

“You don’t even remember how this failed last time do you” Vselennya asked as he reached out his hand at Enia trying lift her with his power to his surprise it didn’t work

“How the hell” Vselennya asked under his breath

“I covered myself in a layer of antimatter it was a bit of a gamble, but it seemed to pay off” Enia said as she got close enough to Vselennya to be head him swinging her sword thinking she finally did it

“Just leave me alone!” Vselennya yelled finally he finally showed emotion or a better term he finally broke

“I’ve been trying to keep a calm head but god I can’t you’re so annoying” Vselennya yelled as the area around him began to crumple

“Because of this damned power I’ve got to be some emotionless bastard in case I lose my self and destroy everything I care about but this time because it’s you I won’t hold back” Vselennya explained. He began to take pieces of building and throw them at Enia who was able to dodge and destroy them although Vselennya would just use the destroyed debris as more projectiles. Eventually Enia ended up circling around Vselennya again and again

“That won’t work on me I won’t get dizzy” Vselennya yelled

“I’m not trying to make you dizzy I’m trying to dodge” Enia yelled back as she jumped over another car Vselennya had thrown as he continued to destroy everything, he had a thought

“Finally, I’m actually having fun, I haven’t had fun since we took on the previous council” with this thought his attacks began to turn up in intensity Enia however didn’t seem to mind she was able to continue dodging her assault had completely ceased.

“What are you planning” Vselennya asked throwing another chunk of road at Enia

“None of your business” Enia said slicing the road in half as she did Vselennya charged her grabbing a broken pipe along the way to kill Enia with.

“Wrong choice” Enia said as she did, she clicked her fingers causing a bunch of antimatter bombs to go off at once completely disorienting him leaving him vulnerable. As he stood there trying to regain himself, he heard Enia say something.

“Heavenly arrow of a thousand pieces” Enia said as she shot at Vselennya within the moment he heard this Vselennya created a wall in front of him to his surprise it wasn’t sturdy enough as the wall crumbled only a few arrows managed to go through, but they missed completely

“Ha what an awful attack you’ll have to try harder than that” as he finished his sentence, he felt a shape pain in his back

“That wasn’t the goal of that attack” Enia said pushing her blade further into Vselennya’s back causing him to scream in pain

“I’m sorry for the pain I caused you” Enia said as she summoned a blade behind Vselennya’s neck and pulling it down decapitating his head in an instant. As Vselennya’s body fell to the floor Enia remained in silence overwhelmed with what she had just done not only had she killed a council member, but she did it by herself. After a moment of celebration Enia created a portal back to the council house and stepped through to see Freyja and Kristin waiting for someone to return

Chapter thirty-four: all the time in the world

“So, who are you?” Anna asked turning to see a slender figure upon seeing her you would have thought she was some ballet dancer

“My name is Sigag I’m the third ranked member of the council representing time” they said before they could continue Anna interrupted

“So, are you a girl? Sorry if that’s a bit random I just can’t tell by looking at you”

“No, I’m a boy and besides that doesn’t even matter” Sigag said as he did Anna ran up within an instant to land a hit to her surprisingly Sigag was able to dodge within the instant she dodged Anna felt like she’d been gut punched twenty times as she fell to her knees.

“Please let me explain my power before you rush in” Sigag explained as he slapped Anna causing her to fall to the floor

“I thought I’d just test your skills first” Anna said laughing

“All you women are the same honestly this is why Iwi and Fauna are ranked as the two lowest” Sigag began to rant on about

“You aren’t really progressive are you now?” Anna asked getting up from the floor

“Let me get back on track my power is time control I can do whatever I want with time whether that be stopping it, speeding it up, slowing it down although I can’t expect you to understand something so complex” Sigag said as he began to rant again getting cut of by Anna

“You don’t shut up do you? Geez let’s just fight and get this over with” Anna complained getting ready to block any attack that would come her way although she was still pondering how to block an attack she couldn’t even see. Just as she thought of an idea Sigag appeared to pull a sword out of thin air

“Always got to have this in a fight” Sigag said as he began to run the the blade across his finger as it reached the tip of his finger a small bubble of blood formed

“And it’s just as sharp as ever” Sigag said starring at the blade taking her chance Anna ran up within a second to see if she could get a hit off however as she got close her eyes locked with Sigag and within that very moment Anna felt a cut open on her cheek.

“Typical you can’t even land a hit on me honestly did you really think you could ever amount to anything” Sigag said as Anna backed off

“I just gotta be faster just gotta be faster than he can react” was the only thought Anna had in that moment not even trying to process what Sigag had said. Anna charged at Sigag again this time even faster.

“Still not fast enough Anna” Sigag said as he did Anna fell to the floor a cut opening on her thigh. As Anna got back up she said but one thing on her mind

“I’ll have to be faster than”

Chapter thirty-five: time flies when your having fun

Anna got up ignoring the pain in her leg. She retreated to a safe distance away

“No, you aren’t getting away that easily” Sigag said as within the instant Anna was a safe distance he appeared in front of her again.

“Time stop” Sigag yelled as he did everything froze Ames expression was one of anger as she was about to hit Sigag

“What to cut next? Maybe your shirt then you’ll die of embarrassment” Sigag said as he lifted his sword to Ames collar

“But then again maybe I should take out one of your eyes well not like it’ll matter cause you’ll die soon” Sigag continued to rant as he pushed his sword up to Ames eye giving her a good look in the eye

“But your eyes are your best feature oh it’s so hard to choose you know what I’ll just cut your other cheek” Sigag said as he slashed Ames other cheek no blood dropped

“I’ll ruin you by the time we’re done just like I’ve done to so many others” Sigag said as he did time began to resume Ames cheek began to leak blood as she reached to cover it Sigag grabbed her arm and began to squeeze Anna let out a cry of pain as he did the look in his eyes was one of pure lust

“God you’re almost as perverted as that succubus” Anna said as she launched a punch at Sigag hitting his side causing his grip to loosen.

“Get yourself together man geez” Sigag said to himself as he grabbed his own thumb in a fist seeming to crush it. Anna decide now would be the best time to continue her assault as she charged Sigag

“Oh no you don’t” Sigag said as he cast his hand at Anna who noticed she began to slow down however Sigag began to walk towards her super speed seemed to have backfired.

“It didn’t backfire I just manually slowed you down you’re currently experiencing time at a quarter the speed a normal person would” Sigag explained brandishing his sword as he pointed it at Ames throat. He hesitated for a moment and in that moment Anna sped up kicking up her speed as she began to move faster although it was still only half the speed which she normally moved

“You’re so annoying damnit” Sigag said as he did he back handed Anna resuming her flow of time as she fell to the floor again and yet again she got back up only thinking about all the shit this man had put through only for him to call her annoying. As she looked and stared Sigag in the eyes she began to see red as she lost herself to her emotions

Chapter thirty-six: the only thing faster than times sword

Anna let out a single sentence from the bottom of her soul one sentence that she would have never uttered from her mouth under normal circumstances

“I hope you burn in the deepest depth of hell you fucking asshole” These words piqued Sigag’s interest as he pointed his sword at Anna

“Then come at me” Sigag said as he did Anna charged Sigag who slowed her down immediately although Anna wasn’t going down that easily as she began to move faster retaining her speed this shocked Sigag but didn’t diminish his spirits as he swung his sword missing Anna within the moment he missed Sigag heard something in his ear

“Too slow Sigag” Anna said as she hit his throat. Grabbing his throat with his free hand Sigag could feel a sharp pain in his side then his other side he realised Anna was rushing not giving him a single opportunity to fight back. As the hits kept coming Sigag could only think of what to do suddenly it all started to happen so fast he realised the slow on Anna had been removed Sigag tried to re apply it but the constant hits meant he couldn’t then with what he thought would be his final breath Sigag let out a shout so desperate you would have thought it was a dying puppy

“Time stop!” Sigag yelled as he did Anna stopped in her tracks everything had gone his way again.

“I’ll behead you right here right now since you’re going to be so annoying” Sigag said raising his blade to Ames neck pulling it back then going for swing putting his whole body into it letting out a blood curdling scream as he did Ames finger twitched the shock stopping Sigag in his tracks his face read that of fear as he squeezed his thumb again rebuilding his confidence

“I’ll kill you damn it” Sigag yelled swinging his sword as he did Anna ducked under the blow

“I’ve gotta be fast enough to save them all” Anna yelled as she tackled Sigag to the floor

“Damn it time stop” he yelled to his surprise time had already been stopped. As the fear sat in Anna picked up Sigag’s sword holding it above his neck

“Any last words?” Anna asked

“Fuck you” Sigag said as he did Anna brung the sword down into his neck pulling it down with her speed as she did Sigag was cut open Anna being able to see the inside of his throat although the blade shattered upon hitting his ribs. As the life faded from Sigag’s eyes time began to move normally Anna tried to take a step but as she did, she shot forward hitting her head on the wall in front of her only then had she realised how fast she really was going. After slowing down Anna headed out the room to find everyone except Lucy sitting around talking as she took a sigh of relief and sat down with everyone else

Chapter thirty-seven: An outcast

As Lucy got up from the ground she looked forward to see who had the guts to tackle her let alone challenge her to two-person duel

“My name is Iwi I’m the fifth ranked council member” the person spoke their voice was soft and caring their eyes were a deep blue that reminded Lucy of the night sky, their outfit didn’t seem to match them though if anything it looked like something you’d find someone without anything to their name with and it was obvious this girl had something to her name

“Cool when did I ask though” Lucy said Brandishing her scythe clearly ready for anything Iwi would throw at her

“My power is the ability to use other people’s power” Iwi explained

“Seems pretty useless against me don’t you think” Lucy asked

“It would seem so” Iwi replied

“Then let’s get this over with” Lucy said as she began to charge Iwi who stood unmoving as Lucy brung her scythe down thinking she had impaled Iwi’s skull to her surprise she just turned to smoke. A slow clapping could be heard from behind Lucy as she turned around to find Iwi standing behind her

“That was a power called clone it allows me to replicate myself pretty handy huh?” Iwi asked as she brandished a blade that was admittedly pretty small compared to Lucy’s scythe

“So, you don’t actually use other people’s powers, do you?” Lucy asked as she cracked her neck trying to get her adrenaline flowing.

“Oh, I do that’s just one of the powers I have at my disposal” Iwi explained as she Locked eyes with Lucy. The only thing Lucy noticed in her eyes was the lack of any life from what Lucy could tell Iwi had no motivation to do what she does

“So, you noticed then huh” Iwi asked

“Noticed what?” Lucy asked trying to not generate small talk

“How my eyes are dead” Iwi said looking down at the ground. After a deep breath Iwi looked up again

“Want to know what powers I have on standby?” Iwi asked Lucy

“Yea sure but isn’t that kind of stupid to reveal?” Lucy responded

“Hmph maybe anyway I have two more powers those being power up and nullify” Iwi revealed

“And what exactly is power up?” Lucy asked as she tried to distance herself from Iwi

“It allows me to power up other powers just so happens to work on my self” Iwi explained as she did she reached out her hand to Lucy and closed it pulling her hand towards her as she did Lucy was pulled towards her.

Chapter thirty-eight: a new challenge

As Lucy was pulled towards Iwi she had a look of joy on her face this confused Iwi as she pushed dagger forward ready to cut through Lucy. As Iwi got ready to end the battle Lucy pulled her scythe around blocking Iwi’s hit the shock form the blades crossing made Iwi drop Lucy.

“So that’s what powers feel like thanks Iwi” Lucy said excitedly as she got ready for another attack

“Yea no problem” Iwi said still confused at Lucy’s reaction

“How did you do that anyway?” Lucy asked as she rested her head on the top of her scythe

“I used power up to make nullify stronger than it nullified you nullify” Iwi explained

“I like you a lot such a shame I’ll have to kill you” Lucy exclaimed as she charged at Iwi again scythe in hand. Iwi tried to summon plant life using Fauna’s power but couldn’t she then tried to stop Lucy with her telekinesis but that didn’t work either then finally she yelled

“Time stop” to her surprise nothing happened as Lucy got closer Iwi slashed her blade nearly getting Lucy’s gut

“What’s with the sudden time stop?” Lucy asked

“I tried to use the other council members power, but it seems that your friends have already killed them” Iwi said brandishing her blade yet again getting ready to strike. As Iwi went to to strike Lucy grabbed her arm and went for a gut punch.

“That won’t work on me” Iwi said as Lucy felt an increase of heat under her as she was blasted into the air by a spiral of fire

“Man, these powers really have a kick to them don’t they” Lucy said as she got back up again

“You just don’t know when to stay down do you?” Iwi asked

“It’s my best trait” Lucy replied as she started charging at Iwi again. Iwi was able to block Lucy’s scythe with her blade the as Iwi blocked her face got real up and close to Lucy’s. Lucy attempted to knee Iwi

“Blade extension” Iwi said as she did a Blade extended from her stomach causing Lucy to knee the blunt end of the blade as she did she let go of Iwi and held her knee in pain

“So is your nullify always active?” Lucy asked still holding her knee

“Yep, it always is” Iwi responded with a slight grin on her face for the first time in a while she was able to actually enjoy herself with someone although this enjoyment was quick lived

Chapter thirty-nine: a reason to go on

As Lucy continued her assault Iwi continued to bring new powers against Lucy who had trouble adapting to all the different attacks and all the different sensations she’d never felt before. Eventually Lucy lost her weapon and had fell to the ground Iwi taking this opportunity pounced on Lucy putting her blade to Lucy’s neck

“I’ll kill you” Iwi said

“And yet you haven’t” Lucy said not a single hint of fear in her eyes as she lifted her arm onto Iwi’s shoulder

“Can you tell me why you can’t” Lucy asked as she did tears began to form in Iwi’s eyes

“It’s because you remind me of a younger me” Iwi said the life in her eyes seeming to return as she did.

“I never explained my powers downside but the more powers I hold at once my memory will start to fade” Iwi explained the blade still held to Lucy’s neck

“Then why don’t we team up if I remind you of a younger you then that means we have to same goal right?” Lucy proposed her proposal sending Iwi in to shock.

“Only if you answer my one question” Iwi said as she regained herself

“Then so away” Lucy responded

“Are you prepared to die for your cause?” Iwi asked as she did the light in her eyes had begun to slowly fade again

“Yes, we as humans are born to die so why not give my death some meaning” Lucy replied. Once she did Iwi stood up getting off of Lucy and covering her mouth as the tears began to flow harder, she remembered something from a time long gone

“Hey Iwi, you sure you want to come with us?” A you younger Fauna asked

“I know it can be kinda hard on you so if you don’t want to please don’t come” Sigag said

“I’ll be fine guys I just gotta keep my power limited” Iwi said

“I don’t want you to push yourself so please don’t go to far” A unfamiliar voice said as Iwi remembered this all she could think of was who that was. Who was it that told her those reassuring words? Coming back to reality Iwi found herself staring into Lucy’s eyes as they stood at opposite sides of the room

“I’ll help you; I’ll help you take over the council” Iwi said her eyes lighting up again

“Good to have you on our side I’m sure everyone will love you” Lucy said as she walked towards Iwi grabbing her shoulder and spinning her around as they walked out the room to see everyone else sitting around.

“Hey everyone, I’m back” Lucy yelled out

“Ah Lucy welcome back how’d your battle go?” Freyja asked turning to Lucy as she did everyone else got into a battle stance brandishing their weapons as they did Iwi hid behind Lucy

“Don’t worry she’s on our side” Lucy said as she did everyone else calmed down putting their weapons down. Iwi still hid behind Lucy too afraid to greet everyone else

“You aren’t going to introduce yourself?” Lucy asked turning her head to find Iwi tightly grabbing the back of her shirt.

“Just give me a minute to calm down” Iwi whispered as she did Kristin came around to introduce herself. As Iwi turned to see Kristin she let out a little scream as she stepped back

“Hello, my names Kristin I’m the friendliest member of the group” Kristin said holding her hand out for a handshake

“As if you are” Anna interrupted as she came around as well as she brung her fist down onto to Guras head.

“Hi, my names Anna but you can just call me An” Anna said introducing herself. 

“I don’t get to call you Ann” Kristin pouted. Enia and Freyja also came over to introduce themselves.

“Hello, my names Freyja I’m already taken so don’t get your hopes up” Freyja said

“You are?” Lucy asked

“Uh yea I’m um yes I am” Freyja said stumbling on her words

“My names Enia it’s a pleasure to met you I hope we can get along” Enia said

“My names Iwi I was the fifth ranked council member representing civilisation but now I’m on your side” Iwi mumbled as she looked at the floor playing with a dangling part of her coat

“Say do you have any info on the last council member?” Kristin asked still rubbing her head.

“Yea they’re the first ranked council member meaning they’re the strongest and she represents Chaos” Iwi explained looking up at her new friends

“Anything else?” Enia asked

“Sorry no my memory isn’t that good” Iwi said with a sorry look on her face

“Alright then let’s get this part started” Lucy said as the group headed on to find the final council member
