Final

Chapter forty: Chaos

As everyone entered the only room not yet entered a familiar silhouette was visible just in the shadows

“Well, hello everyone” Eva said emerging from the shadows in what appeared to be funeral attire she even had a veil hat on

“I knew we couldn’t trust you” Anna said getting ready to fight.

“What are you doing here Iwi?” Eva asked pointing at Iwi who was still hiding behind Lucy

“I came because I want the council to start a new” Iwi said

“Then you’ve placed your trust in the wrong people” Eva said

“How would you know Wenluan” Iwi argued back

“Wait your name isn’t Eva?” Kristin asked

“No why would I ever reveal my name to you lowly scum” Wenluan said as she did Lucy clenched her hand into a fist as she began to march towards as she did Iwi grabbed her sleeve

“Please let me give it a try first” Iwi said

“But you’re ranked five and they’re ranked at first isn’t that too much of a difference?” Lucy asked

“Yea probably but I can’t have Wenluan insult you all like that” Iwi said a look of determination in her eyes

“Alright then you do you man” Lucy said letting Iwi take the lead

“Only help me if I ask for it alright” Iwi said turning to the group they all nodded in agreement. Once she had the green light from everyone Iwi approached Wenluan.

“So, you’re going against me alone heh you really don’t have anything going on upstairs do you” Wenluan said taunting Iwi

“You say that and yet it’s you who’s been ruining humanity so and as the council member representing civilisation it’s my duty to stop you” Iwi said as she did, she began to rise into the air lighting began to shoot from her hands.

“You really think you can beat me with some lightning” Wenluan asked

‘Power up super strength” Iwi said as she slammed back into the ground hitting the floor with her fist as she did the floor cracked and fell a gaping hole was formed in the floor. Looking down Enia could see the ground floor very far down.

“That’s it just a cheap intimidation tactic?” Wenluan said as she got ready to attack. Wenluan shot from the ground at Iwi as her fist made contact Iwi shot back hitting a wall and falling to the floor

“Let me explain my power to you all” Wenluan said

“Yea sure” Enia said

“It’s called chaos and it makes it so any action I take will result in a random effect and I can luckily turn it off” As Wenluan explained she pulled a coin out of her pocket

“Here’s a quick demonstration” Wenluan said as she flipped the coin into the looking at the group Wenluan asked

“Heads or tails?”

“Heads” Lucy said

“Tails” Anna said as the coin came back down it landed standing

“This is the best way I can explain” Wenluan said picking the coin back up as she did Iwi got back up from the crater she made in the wall

“Are you alright Iwi” Freyja asked rushing over

“Yea your regeneration is very useful” Iwi said as she brushed some dust off of her cloak.

“So, you wanna go again?” Wenluan asked

“Till my last breath” Iwi said charging at Wenluan at extreme speeds

“So, your just gonna use their powers instead huh how interesting” Wenluan said as she went to punch where she thought Iwi would be to her surprise Iwi had distanced herself and fired off a shot

“It’s called finger gun it’s one of my favourites” Iwi said Wenluan was able to block the attack.

“This attire isn’t just for fashion you know” Wenluan yelled as she shot off at Iwi hitting her square in the face. The impact caused a cloud of dust to form as it faded three silhouettes could be made out

“What did I say Lucy” Iwi said

“I know, I know but I’m not going to let you die like that” Lucy explained with a face full of fist

“So, you’re stepping up now?” Wenluan asked as she did she knocked a ball of antimatter out the air. Turning to the the rest of Lucy’s group she could see them all charging at her.

“Great this should be just great fun” Wenluan said with an evil smile on her face

Chapter forty-one: a battle to end all battles

As everyone charged at Wenluan she jumped up into the air

“Everyone scatter” Iwi yelled although she wasn’t fast enough as Wenluan slammed into the ground as she did the ground split the entire room cracking and being blown into platforms everyone was separate.

“Now let’s see you try and kill me” Wenluan said still floating above everyone. From their positions Lucy could tell that Enia was closest to her on her left and Iwi was closest on her right Anna and Kristin where on the same platform near Enia and Freyja was on the exact opposite of Lucy

“Be carful guys if you fall, you’ll definitely die” Iwi yelled out as she did Enia created platforms under her as she ran towards Wenluan the space under her didn’t matter one bit as she kept running the platforms kept being created and destroyed.

“Enia wait we should try to plan something” Lucy yelled out

“Oh, how interesting you’ve finally gathered the courage to face me” Wenluan said as she did Enia began to summon an arrow

“Heavenly arrow of a thousand pieces” Enia said firing the arrow Wenluan just laughed. As the arrow grew closer to Wenluan it began to split the splitting arrows remaining compact within seconds they had created a wave of darkness and death.

“Cute” Wenluan said as she punched the wave of death coming her way in an instant the arrows froze and shattered into a million tiny pieces and began to fall down into the streets

“You’ll need more than that to kill me” Wenluan shouted as she charged at Enia as she got closer Enia summoned a sword of antimatter

“I’ll kill you here and know” Enia said as he slashed at Wenluan is response Wenluan flipped kicking the blade out of Enia’s hand then spinning and kicking Enia in the neck the shock sent her flying towards Iwi.

“Summon wall” she yelled as the wall summoned Enia hit it and fell downwards Iwi was able to catch her

“Are you alright Enia?” Iwi asked as she rest her on the platform, they were both on

“Yea I’m fine I think” Enia said standing up her neck seemed to be fine they concluded that all Wenluan had done was send Enia flying. Next was Anna who began glow with energy

“You alright Anna?” Kristin asked

“Yea I’m fine I’m just about to got really fast so maybe stand back” Anna said looking down at Kristin who had taken a couple steps back. As Anna leapt off the platform a boom could be heard as she traveled from platform to platform only getting faster as she ran leapt between platforms vapour clouds began to form behind her

“So, you’re fast what’s that going to do for you” Wenluan said as she punched the air in Ames direction as she did a shockwave of air was shot off at Anna who managed to dodge it before it had come any where near her.

“She’s moving so fast she’s seeing forwards in time!” Freyja said as Anna kept dodging hits that hadn’t even be thrown yet she might have had a chance. As Anna got up to Wenluan she went to hit her

“You’ll need a little bit more precision” Wenluan said as she hit the ground under her platform shattering as the it did the debris began to fly towards Anna not matter how many times she’d dodge the debris would keep coming back until it eventually hit her leg using what momentum Anna had she shot herself back at Kristin who was able to catch her

“You alright Anna?” Kristin asked

“No, my leg hurts like hell” Anna said

“Do you all not see how pointless this is” Wenluan asked as she did Iwi began to charge

“Stop everyone!” Lucy yelled Iwi stopped and everyone looked at Lucy

“We gotta plan something instead of just charging in like this it’ll kill us if we don’t” Lucy explained

“How do you expect us to get over there?” Kristin asked

“Iwi can you teleport people?” Lucy asked turning to Iwi

“Yea do you want me to to teleport everyone over to you?” Iwi responded

“No teleport Wenluan somewhere” Lucy said Iwi was confused at first but decided to see what Lucy was trying to do. Locking eyes with Wenluan Iwi’s own eyes began to glow as Wenluan disappeared. After Wenluan disappeared the room, they were in returned to normal.

“Just as I thought it’s only affecting a certain area” Lucy said as Freyja ran over to Anna

“Anna please try to sit still” Freyja said as began to coat her hand in saliva and ran her hand over Ames wound. The healing was nearly instant.

Chapter forty-two: the plan

Everyone sat down and tried to think of a plan before Wenluan was able to come back

“So, you don’t have any ideas for a weakness of some sort?” Kristin asked Iwi

“Um maybe hold on let me just check” Iwi said pulling out a small notebook form her coat and opened up to a Page

“So, what’s that?” Anna asked

“It’s a notebook I write all the important stuff I don’t want to forget in it” Iwi said as she continued to flip through the pages

“Here it is” Iwi said as she turned the book around for everyone to see

“It’s a section dedicated to Wenluan” Iwi explained

“And you didn’t think to show us this before we started the fight?” Kristin asked

“Like I said my memory isn’t the best, so I forgot about it” Iwi said trying to explain herself

“Let’s see here” Enia said as she grabbed the book and begun to read it.

“So how long do we have till Wenluan gets back?” Lucy asked

“Probably not that long the teleport power can’t send people very far” Iwi said

“But it shows that her range is pretty small” Anna said

“You’re proving really useful Iwi” Lucy said

“So she doesn’t really have a weakness” Enia said putting the book down

“What do you mean doesn’t have a weakness?” Freyja asked

“Due to the randomness of her power, there really isn’t a counter to it” Enia explained

“So, what are we meant to do?” Kristin asked

“Since she can only attack one person at a time maybe we could dog pile her” Lucy suggested

“That would be a good idea but because she can take one of us out in a instant that would fail quickly” Enia said shooting down Lucy’s idea

“Well actually me and Lucy would be good distractions” Iwi suggested

“That’s right you’re immune to her attacks aren’t you” Anna said

“Yes, so maybe we can distract her well you guys try and do something” Lucy said

“That sounds good let’s do it” Kristin said as she did the doors to the room flung open as Wenluan entered the room again

“That was a cheap trick you pulled” Wenluan said as she entered the room again covered in trash

“I can’t really control where I send you so sorry about that” Iwi said as she got up next to Lucy who was ready to fight. Iwi was shaking she was nervous after all this might be her last fight her breathing was uneasy, and she was fidgeting with her fingers before she could move Lucy grabbed her hand

“You’ve got nothing to be afraid of I won’t let you die here” Lucy said with that single sentence all of Iwi’s stress seemed to fade away.

“Gosh you’ve got such a way with words” Iwi said

“Enough of the cutesy moments let’s fight” Wenluan said

Chapter forty-three: the final fight

Wenluan charged at Lucy and Iwi who had brandished their weapons for the fight that would insure. Wenluan went to hit Lucy who had blocked the hit with her scythes handle

“Power up super strength” Iwi yelled as she hit Wenluan sending her flying away from Lucy after hitting the wall Wenluan got up spitting a mouthful of blood on the floor.

“You’re still nothing” Wenluan said shooting off at Iwi hitting her square in the stomach although she didn’t go flying this time instead, she feel to the floor as she did, she threw up on the ground

“How disgusting” Wenluan said as they brung their hand down to hit Iwi as they did Lucy caught it

“Don’t insult them like that” Lucy said as she socked Wenluan in the face causing her to take a couple steps back

“Alright Lucy we got an idea all we need is for you to hold Wenluan still” Kristin yelled as they began to run around Wenluan on their left side with Enia, Anna taking the right side.

“You got it sea food” Lucy yelled as she ran at Wenluan

“Wait Lucy stop” Iwi yelled as she got up cleaning her face, she looked forwards Lucy turning around to face her.

“I got your back” Iwi said

“Then let’s get this mother fucker” Lucy said turning back to face Wenluan who seemed ready for what ever Lucy and the others were thinking. Lucy went for an immediate left hook but missed as she did Wenluan went for a clean hit on Lucy’s stomach

“Blade extension” Iwi said as a blade extended from her palm blocking the Wenluan hit.

“One of you is annoying enough but two is just downright criminal” Wenluan said as she did, she felt a splash on her back turning around she found Enia had thrown some antimatter concoction at her

“Oh, you’re gonna get it now” Wenluan said as she went to dash at Enia as she did Lucy grabbed her waist stopping her from moving. As she did Iwi grabbed her legs meaning she couldn’t fight back by kicking

“Great job Lucy now it’s our part” Enia said looking at Kristin who was already in position

“Now!” Anna yelled as she did Kristin dashed at Wenluan as she got close enough, she dug her trident into the ground trapping Wenluan’s arm at the same time Anna had dashed in grabbing and twisting her arm behind her

“Now Enia!” Kristin yelled as she did Enia shot an arrow aiming directly for Wenluan’s forehead. As the arrow came closer Wenluan leaned back and thrusted her head forwards hitting the arrow with it as she did it split into many pieces however the pieces didn’t get very far as Freyja and grabbed them

“Take this for everything you’ve done” Freyja yelled

“You’ll need better than that” Wenluan said as she broke free of Ames grip and Hitting Freyja with hand causing her to fly into Enia with her free hand she brung a fist down on Lucy’s arm causing her grip too loosen as Wenluan was able to shake her off with more freedom of movement she was also able to get Iwi off of her then using her free hand she grabbed Guras trident lifting it out of the ground with Kristin sill holding on and throwing it at Anna causing the two to fly back and hit a wall. All this happening in a matter of seconds

“Theres a reason I’m number one you know” Wenluan said turning to Lucy

“There’s really nothing we can do is there” Freyja asked getting up as she helped Enia up

“It doesn’t seem so but let’s just do our best to support Lucy and Iwi” Enia said getting up from the ground from the looks of things Kristin and Anna had the same idea.

“There’s no point in even trying anymore it’s completely hopeless” Wenluan said mocking the group

“It’s only hopeless if we don’t have any hope” Lucy said as she got back up leaning on her scythe to keep balance.

“And I haven’t lost any for defeating you” Lucy exclaimed her gaze intense as she stared down Wenluan who hadn’t even a single scratch on her, yet Lucy didn’t seem one bit less determined. It was like her determination was infectious as everyone regained the spark in their soul

“Now let’s charge!” Lucy yelled as everyone began to charge with no plan other than to kill Wenluan

“Good luck you’ll need it” Wenluan said slamming her hands together as she did everyone felt a huge weight lift off their shoulders as they began to float into the air.

“This should spice things up” Wenluan said as released her hands for a full view of the room only Lucy remained on the floor. Without saying a word, she sprung into actions trying to slash at Wenluan

“Still the same weakling as before” Wenluan said blocking her attacks. As Wenluan went for a gut punch she was rudely interrupted

“Lucy, I got your back” Iwi said as she came back down to the ground and charged at Wenluan, Iwi formed her fingers into a gun and began to fire at Wenluan.

“Tch just because you’ve got another person helping doesn’t mean you’ll win” Wenluan said as she punched the air in Iwi’s direction shooting a projectile of condensed air at Iwi although as it hit Iwi the air dispersed.

“So, you’ll keep that power active, pretty interesting move” Wenluan said as she did Lucy shoved her scythes handle into Wenluan’s side, she didn’t even flinch as she counter attacked striking Lucy across the face.

“Now take this and die” Wenluan said bringing her fist towards Lucy as Wenluan struck she didn’t hit Lucy but hit Freyja’s shield which Freyja had thrown as Wenluan struck Lucy’s face

“Don’t you forget that I’m here to be everyone’s shield!” Freyja yelled across the room

“How annoying” Wenluan mumbled however she was quickly cut off by hit to her back turning around Wenluan found Kristin who was able to navigate zero gravity with ease

“It’s like being underwater so I’m able to move pretty well” Kristin said pointing at the fins she had grown on her sides. As she did Wenluan grabbed one and begun to spin Kristin around before she could let go of Kristin throwing her somewhere she was interrupted by a flash and a hit to her face.

“Doesn’t matter if I can’t walk, I can still go fast” Anna explained as she hit Wenluan’s hand causing her to let go of Kristin.

“God just give me a break!” Wenluan yelled however she was interrupted again by a shower of antimatter arrows

“Range is my speciality” Enia said flinging another round of Arrows

“Enough!” Wenluan screamed slamming her hands together again restoring gravity and everyone fell back to the ground

“You’re all so annoying why won’t you all just die!” Wenluan yelled as she pulled a knife out charging at Iwi. Freyja tried to stop Wenluan, but Wenluan shoved Freyja aside as Wenluan hit Freyja an intense cracking noise could be heard as Freyja fell to the floor one of her ribs could be seen stabbing through her chest. Wenluan continued her charge as Enia launched a multitude of projectiles but with a single swipe at the air Wenluan destroyed all of them. Within an instant the sound of the blade hitting flesh could be heard Iwi spoke but one word

“Lucy!” She yelled. Lucy looked at Wenluan dead in the eyes the knife still deep within her torso

“Now die you piece of shit” Lucy said swinging her scythe impaling Wenluan’s skull killing her instantly. As Wenluan’s body fell to the ground the knife came out of Lucy’s gut causing Lucy to fall backwards into Iwi knocking them both to the ground

“Lucy are you alright?” Iwi asked as everyone came running over to Lucy

“Lucy please talk to me” Freyja said grabbing Lucy’s hand and squeezing it

“No, I’m not okay this hurts like hell” Lucy said as her vision began to blur

“Please don’t go Lucy just try to stay with us we’ll think of something” Enia said as she began to look around for something to help Lucy with

“Well, what are you two doing try to find something” Enia yelled at Kristin and Anna who panicked and began to search the room.

“I’m gonna take a nap ok guys” Lucy said weakly as she closed her eyes

Chapter Forty-three: an old friend

As Lucy opened her eyes again she found herself in an unfamiliar place there was nothing in any direction she looked nothing but pure whiteness that went on and on. Then suddenly she heard a voice

“Lucy is that you?” The voice said

“Fubuki?” Lucy asked turning around to find her friend alive and well. Upon seeing her friend again Lucy began to tear up.

“I can’t believe it you’re here again I’ve got so many thing I need to tell you” Lucy said through tears as she ran up to Fubuki holding her in her arms tightly

“Sorry Lucy but you can’t stay here” Fubuki said as she pushed Lucy away

“But I’ve missed you so much there’s no way I could leave you again” Lucy said. Fubuki looked at Lucy tears now forming in her eyes as she spoke again

“I missed you two so much Lucy, but I can’t let you stay here” Fubuki cried out as she lightly hit Lucy’s arm.

“But we’re together again I’m finally reunited with my best friend, and you want me to leave” Lucy argued back

“No, I don’t I want you to stay but you’ve got other things to do you’ve got more responsibility’s now” Fubuki said as she looked to her side as she did a hole was opened up Lucy looking on at what she would be leaving behind. Lucy saw everyone doing everything they could to bring her back Anna was attempting to resuscitate Lucy with chest compressions as Iwi was sobbing over her body letting her rest in her lap. Enia was holding Kristin as Kristin sobbed Enia was trying to hold back her emotions, but they were able to leak out tears began to fall. What hit Lucy the hardest was Freyja she was holding Lucy and sobbing the hardest her grip was tight.

“They care for you a lot Lucy they are why you can’t stay here” Fubuki explained looking at Lucy who’s tears began to fall harder.

“Can you make me a promise?” Lucy asked turning to Fubuki as she wiped the tears from her face

“Anything for my best friend” Fubuki responded

“Will you wait for the next time I come here and everyone else?” Lucy asked

“Of course, I’ll wait for all of you and I’m excited to meet everyone” Fubuki responded as she did everything began to fade away the empty whiteness disappearing

“Goodbye Fubuki I’ll see you later” Lucy said

“Yep, I’ll see you later Lucy” Fubuki said with a smile the smile Lucy had missed so much.

Lucy shot up from her position in Iwi’s lap with loud gasp

“Lucy? You’re alive!” Freyja exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around her neck.

“Yea I am you think a knife is enough to kill me” Lucy said as she did, she felt everyone come down on her to hug her.

“But how are you alive?” Enia asked Lucy looked where her wound was noticing that it had closed up.

“Say Freyja we’re you lying on my wound?” Lucy asked

“Yes, how’d you know I was lying on you?” Freyja answered

“Don’t mind that” Lucy said “you might have healed me, so I didn’t die when you were lying on me”

“But your power would nullify it” Freyja said her voice shaking

“Actually, maybe Lucy’s power wasn’t active because she was dead” Iwi explained

“I don’t care what happened as long as Lucy’s here” Kristin said as she squeezed tighter.

“So, what do we do now?” Lucy asked as she got up looking on at the corpse of the second final council member

“You’ll need someone to guide you won’t you?” Iwi asked

“What do you mean?” Anna asked

“I officially resign as a member of the council now you guys are the council” Iwi said

“Excuse me?” Freyja asked

“That’s how it works once people defeat the council, they become the next council” Iwi explained

“Gives us something to do I guess” Lucy said. Everyone else seemed fine with it deciding they would change the world for the better

Chapter forty-four: the after party

After a couple days of preparation everyone was ready to announce that they were the new council

“So, who’s the leader?” Iwi asked

“No one we’re gonna work together on this” Lucy said

“Alright then I’ll broadcast the announcement in three … two … one” Iwi said the stress form the countdown was the most intense stress everyone and felt on the journey

“Attention everyone the council has been defeated, a new council has been decided expect intense changes in the way you live please try to be respectful of their changes” Iwi said her voice echoed through out the entirety of the city, suburbs and slums.

“So, what now?” Enia asked

“How about a party so the people supporting the council know who’s in charge” Lucy said

“That’s a great idea you’re already getting the hang of this Lucy” Iwi said. After couple nights of planning the party had begun.

“Isn’t this fun ay Kristin?” Anna asked

“Hell, yea look at all the sea food, how do they get it anyway?” Kristin asked

“Not the entire ocean is deadly” Iwi said. The group was seated at a long table Lucy was in the middle seated next to Freyja and Anna Enia and Kristin were seated at the edges of the table. In front of them was a whole feast for the group and the group alone

“Can I get you any drinks?” Zard asked coming up to the council’s table

“Nope you can just enjoy yourself” Lucy said as she kicked her feet onto the table

“Alright and before I leave thank you for hiring me as your personal assistants I appreciate so much” Zard said walking off into the party.

“Are you all ready for some rock and roll” Sakura yelled into the party

“We aren’t doing rock and roll remember?” The drummer asked Sakura

“Oh yea, Are you ready for some classical music?” Sakura asked again with the same energy as before as the band began to play their classical the lead guitarist was on a harp the drummer was on a church organ and Sakura began to sing her voice angelic unlike her rock performance.

“Oh, let’s dance Anna” Kristin said getting out of her chair her dress getting caught on it and pulling on Ames sleeve

“Yea, yea alright we’ll dance” Anna said getting dragged out of her chair as she readjusted the collar of her dress

“You too Enia, you join us” Kristin said turning to Enia

“I don’t really know how to dance though so I’ll sit back” Enia replied

“Oh no you don’t we don’t know how to dance either so you’re joining us” Kristin said grabbing Enia’s sleeve and pulling her to the dance floor. As the trio began to dance you could tell they didn’t know what they were doing but their smiles were bright enough that nobody seemed to care. Lucy got up from her chair and turned to Freyja

“Will you join me for this dance?” Lucy asked reaching her hand out to Freyja. Freyja gracefully accepted as she laid her hand down on Lucy’s who helped her out of her seat

“But of course, babe” Freyja said the two shared a quick kiss as they then moved out to the dance floor. The two shared an elegant dance to even more elegant music they were in perfect synch with each other

“You look amazing in a suit by the way” Freyja said as Lucy spun her around

“And you look amazing in that dress” Lucy said. The two danced till the party was over conducting all the pleasantries and business they needed to do as the new council. After the party was over and everybody had been sent out the group rested on the roof of the tower, they were battling in only a week ago

“We’ve come a long way haven’t we” Enia said looking up at the stars

“Yea although the journey was long it was fun the whole trip” Freyja said

“Although it got a bit rocky at times, I’m glad it was with all of you” Kristin said

“Even though I joined late it was still amazing” Anna said

“It was the best time of my life” Lucy said

“Hey, I’m not interrupting anything am I?” Iwi asked as she came onto the roof where everyone else was

“Nope not at all” Anna said

“Come sit with us you are one of us after all” Lucy said. Iwi came and sat down with everyone looking across the kingdom they now rule over

“Let’s take a photo” Iwi said as she stood up holding a camera

“Hold on sit back down you’ve got be in the photo as well Iwi” Lucy said pulling on Iwi’s dress for her to sit back down.

“How are we gonna take that photo then?” Iwi asked

“Like this” Lucy said grabbing the camera and holding out as she took the photo the click of the flash ringing through the night sky. The photo came out of the camera everyone gathered around to see it. The photo lit everyone’s faces up

“Let’s keep it as a reminder to always be us” Enia said

“That’s a great idea Enia” Freyja said. As Lucy put the photo in her pocket for later she looked back up over the world

“So, our journey is over” Anna said

“But we’ve got many more to go on” Lucy said. Looking over at everything the group feel silent as it began to rain looking to the sky a final time Lucy could have sworn she saw a lost soul watching over them. As she smiled looking at everyone Lucy sighed as she rested her head on Freyja’s shoulder closing her eyes ready for a goodnights rest.
