Chapter 4:

Eternal Vow

Unsurprisingly Humanity’s Strongest is bad at love

It is always said that wherever the [Crimson Beast] goes chaos follows. But this is not the case. Trouble always follows Scarlet. It was not as bad as some people have it, but it was still annoying.
Scarlet decided to survey the area.
She looked over to see the cashier shoveling money into a bag at gunpoint.
Other shoppers were down on the ground clearly scared. Liz was quivering in her arms trying not to make a sound.
Scarlet debated if she should get involved, but decided not to. This situation is too suspicious. Why would a random guy target a random supermarket? Supermarkets don’t hold that much cash, as they are required to regularly move the cash in a safe deposit. Robbing a supermarket isn’t a great idea to get big amounts of money. The risk of getting caught is higher than the reward. Either something weird is going on or this guy is unhinged. In either situation she doesn’t want to involve Liz. So she decided to do nothing and let this situation play out.  And after all, she isn't a [Hero].
"Now get on the ground, NOW!"
The cahier that finished shoveling the money immediately went into a protective stance as he sunk into the ground.
The robber looked into his bag full of money satisfied.
Looks like it's finally over...
Then the robber looked at the cowering people and smiled.
"And now hand me over your valuables!"
The robber made its way around the shoppers, as each and everyone of them handed over their wallets. No one tried to be a hero, there was no point. They were, after all, ordinary people. Simple people that went to the supermarket to buy somethings for their dinner.
They didn't  go to the market to be held at gunpoint.

Liz' eyes widened when she heard the footsteps drawing closet to their location and looked at Scarlet in a panic. Scarlet meanwhile seemed calm, cool, collected but she was actually very angry. Angry at the robber who interrupted their time, angry at the greed of this crazy person and angry at him for interrupting her time with her precious friend. Even though she is someone she met just hours ago, Scarlet still considers Liz as a good friend. She looked over to Elizabeth and saw her panicked face. She was in a trance when she saw that face.

God, she is cute...

As she was mesmerized by the beauty, the robber approached with the gun crooked, looking at the scene bemused.
"Look what we got here, two cuties. I hate to do this to you but you got to hand over your precious valuables. Eh, ginger head didn't you hear me?"
Scarlet didn't seem to hear the robber, as she was not moving a single inch. Liz was looking more and more panicked and the robber started to get impatient.
"Didn't you hear me?! HAND OVER YOU PRECIOUS-"

In a sudden explosion, the robber was thrown back against a rack, disarmed and utterly in pain. The [Crimson Beast] was standing up proudly.
"I will never hand her over."
Scarlet then turned towards Liz and offered a hand. Liz blushed furiously and accepted her hand.
"Th, thanks.."
Scarlet grinned and went over the robber and kicked him for good measure.
She then looked over to see the shoppers and the cashier looking at her in shock and awe.

I can never shop here again...

It's time for them to leave before the night becomes more troublesome as it is. And so they headed home after buying the much needed necessities.

The night was cool and the calm. A full moon was hanging in the cloudless night sky, giving off an soothing light. The road was empty, almost eerie. It would have been that way if not for the two women walking down the path to their home. It was romantic in a way. The smooth spring breeze, the cool night, the cloudless sky, it really makes for a great atmosphere.
Scarlet glanced over to Liz. She was worried about going overboard in the supermarket. She didn't want to appear as an brute woman with no tact whatsoever. But what she saw on Liz' face was no frown or fear of Scarlet. Instead she seemed to be enjoying the night and not minding the crimson company.
"I am really good at martial arts", blurted Scarlet out.
Elizabeth looked at her and giggled.
"You are really weird, Scarlet" said the giggling Scarlet.
"No I am not."
Liz simply continued to giggle.
"I mean sure, I did appear wounded with full of lead in me. My home is a mess and I am really bad at household stuff. I also disarmed someone at gunpoint, but those are- Hey stop laughing already!!"
Liz was now laughing, holding her belly in.

She really thinks I am a brute.

After a while Liz stopped laughing. She still had a huge smile on her face as she looked at the now pouting Scarlet. She skipped a few steps and turned around, bent over slightly and looked at her with her head tilted.
At that moment the moonlight hit Elizabeth at the right angle, illuminating her beautiful face,

"You really are cute when you are angry."

Then she laughed and continued onward in the direction of their home.
Scarlet stood still in silence. Her heart was thumping like crazy.

Jeez what should I do with this girl...

"You coming?"
Scarlet sighed and followed Elizabeth.
That day she made a vow to do everything in her power to make Elizabeth hers.
She isn't called [Humanity's Strongest] for nothing.
