Chapter 15:

Chapter 13: Rhio, The Chaos

GLAMS Adventure: The Girl and the Mysterious Crystal

He sacrificed everything he has just to save everyone. I couldn’t keep my calm and just covered my mouth with my hands. I kept shaking from crying.

I knelt.

“You idiot brother, why did you erase my memories then?” Rhio just stared at me and then said...

“Now, let’s go back to the present.” We came back. In a glance, we were back in the cave.

“So that’s why I felt that way the moment I saw the artifact.”

***

“It’s so beautiful, yet so sad. I wonder why it feels that way.”

***

I looked at the crystal.

“It’s really you, Dylan.”

I came close to it and had my forehead lean on it. I couldn’t stop crying. I knew from the start that it was you it’s just that you managed to hide my memories.

“Brother, thank you for saving my friends. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for everything that you have done for the world. This time, let me protect it for you.”

I haven’t done anything for you.

I never had anyone in my life before. I was always alone and sad but you...

You gave me light.

You gave me hope.

Now that you mention it, this whole cave reminds me of you. It’s just like you, Dylan. Mysteriously bright and kind.

Right now, I’ll protect everyone even if it means sacrificing my own life.

I turned my back to look at Rhio.

“What are you planning to do, you relic?” I looked at him ferociously.

“Whoa, whoa. There’s no need for you to be so cautious of me.” He laughingly said.

“So? How come that you looked like my brother?” I asked him.

“Haha!” He started to laugh.

“You’re interesting, little girl!” He just changed expression. I could feel his whole dark aura emitting his body.

“If you’re planning to hurt my brother or everyone, I won’t let you off easily.” I was scared of him before but not this time.

“From the start I was going to but that brother of yours is a pest.” He said.

“Or I’ll say, that brother of ours.” He added.

I was shocked.

I have read something about Rhio, the chaos. It was then that I remembered the whole content of the book. Someone of the same calibre managed to bring him down. In every chaos, there is order. Rhio was resurrected every one hundred years, the same thing with the child of order. That child of order was gifted with power that could bring order to the world.

“So Dylan’s the child of order? Your brother, Rhio?” I asked again.

The fact that you're that old was scary.

“You’re an intelligent girl. Yes, I’m your brother’s brother. Well, not necessarily, every hundred years, a child is born to stop me. It’s just that your brother left a very unforgettable image to me.” He explained.

“This crystal of him is a real bother. I can’t perfectly destroy it.” He added.

“That’s why, I’ll present your dead body in front of him.” His face became that of a monster in just an instant.

“Idiot. He’s not someone who would corrode just because he saw the dead body of his sister. Right, brother?” I asked the crystal and it shined.

“Humans are trash! The world’s in chaos because of the human’s fickleness!” Rhio was smiling when he said that.

“Yeah, you could say that but don’t forget that a mere human used to take you down too.” He just snapped at me, because I said that. Well, I couldn’t blame him. He swung his arm to me and I was hit by it.

“Ugh!” I threw up blood.

Why? This always happen to me!

“You’re weak.” He said.

I tried to stand again.

“Yeah, that’s true.” I said.

It was then my whole body was enveloped with light like an aura.

I then saw my reflection in the crystal. My eyes were sparkling like an emerald. The wind started to blow rampant avoiding my body.

“If this power could finish your relic brother, lend me all of it, brother.” I said.

The one who saved my friends from back then was you, Dylan. The one they saw behind me was you too. You have always supported me.

It was then that I managed to stop Rhio’s breathing by blocking the flow of oxygen. I could actually control the particles of the air.

“This is impossible! How can you control Dylan’s power to its maximum?” He was frightened.

“I’m his sister, alright.” I managed to immobilize him. Then, the crystal lit up so bright and the light from it swallowed Rhio inside the crystal.

“What’s happening?”

He was swallowed completely. Was it you, Dylan?

You know what I think? This was the first dangerous situation I was in that I managed not to have a single fatal wound on me. Maybe it’s because my brother was around. He never actually put me in a dangerous situation, and even if I was, he would always save me.

I was shocked to how easy it was. Well, nothing is impossible when he’s around.

There was this time that he saved me from a snake before.

***

“Are you okay, Jen? Did the snake bite you?”

“It’s you who was bitten by it!”

***

He kept blabbering about my safety when he was the real one who was bitten by that snake.

I really love him.

Now that I could see the whole crystal, I still couldn’t afford not to cry.

“Jeez, do your job properly, Dylan.” It was then that my bruises and injuries healed like it was never there. I leaned in the crystal again.

And not so long than that, I heard his voice.

“One day, someone will see the kindness on your actions not on your words. Thank you. I love you, Jen.” These words echoed on my mind.

“Ugh.” Tears fell from my eyes.

“I love you too, brother.” Guh, since when did I become a crybaby? I was crying almost entirely in this chapter.

When I had gone out of the cave, it was then that I started gazing up the sky.

It was the first time that I really considered the blue sky so pretty. I used to gaze up like this too before. And every time, I always felt so empty inside. I was always alone; I’m always on my own before. How can you explain this? Now that I have everyone and I can’t afford to let them suffer. I learned how to appreciate this life of mine. I learned how to appreciate the world in its light and darkness.

“Will everyone be safe if I’m not around?”

I asked myself.
