Chapter 12: What Happened 10 Years Ago

“Welcome! I am really expecting you.” Someone who really looked like someone I knew before.

“Ms. Jenive Genesis, my name is Rhio.” Rhio? Have I heard that name before?

It was then that I remembered the book that I have read before. It was stated in there that someone from way back before tried to conquer the world by spreading evils around the world. His name was Rhio, the chaos.

“So I’m standing right now to a hundred year old fossil?” I was really scared.

“Whoa, you know me? How convenient.” He said.

So I guessed right? I was panicking. Now that I guessed it right, I felt very scared.

“What do you want with me?” I asked him.

He just flicked his fingers and the soldiers vanished.

“What are you?” I asked out of surprise.

“You already know me, right?” He smiled at me.

“Shouldn’t you be trying to tie or cuff me?” I talked back to him.

“Haha, what makes you think you can get away from me?” I already knew I can’t. I could feel his dark aura enveloping his body. It’s so dark, so scary. I’m so scared.

It was then that the artifact started to glow.

“You really love your sister that much? Don’t worry, I won’t kill her yet.” Rhio spoke to the artifact like it was a person.

“What are you talking about?” I asked him.

“Oh yeah, you didn’t remember anything right, Jen?” What? Didn’t remember?

“So you were the one who stole my memories?” I said angrily.

“Whoa, relax. I didn’t do that! It was your brother’s work.” Eh? I was surprised. So, I really have a brother?

“He erased your memories.” What are you talking about?

“His name is Dylan Genesis.” He added.

Was that even possible? How am I supposed to believe that?

“You’re really harsh, Dylan. You just erased your beloved sister’s memories and now you made her feel so confused.” He was talking to the artifact.

“I don’t remember having a brother.” I explained to him.

“Fine. I’ll show you.” Rhio said.

“The past.”

What happened 10 years ago...

It’s like a magic. I could see myself when I was four years old. I had traveled back in the past.

“Jen, come here! Someone came to see you.”

“Let me read a book peacefully, Shiru. You’re annoying.”

“But, Jen!”

“Shut up, you fillet!”

Eh? I was really so bad before. I’m sorry, Shiru.

“Je~nn! I brought you some toys.”

“Why do you keep visiting? I told you, stop coming here in the orphanage!”

“Eh? But I missed you.”

“It’s no use. This person’s brain is as small as pandaca pygmea.”

“It’s like I’m watching an ice.” Rhio beside me said.

Shut up, you fossil!

“You left the orphanage with Dylan.” He added while looking at me. Dylan was my brother but how did Rhio managed to look like him?

“Someone’s going to adopt you, Jen! That’s great!”

“I don’t want to! I don’t want to! Just leave me alone!”

“The couple are already waiting outside. Please, Jen?”

Now I remember, I grew up in an orphanage and had lived my whole life with Shiru in there. It was then that someone wanted to adopt me because they wanted a daughter and I didn’t really want it but Dylan came to claim me as his sister.

“Sister, please give Jen to me.”

“Are you sure about that?”

“Yes.”

Dylan was a very gentle person. Although we’re not blood related, he was willing to take care of me.

“Why did you adopt me?”

“From todays on, I am your brother!”

“Hey, listen to me! You didn’t have to do that!”

“I need to do it. It feels like you wanted to cry back then, Jen.”

Yeah, how can I forget? He used to pat my head. This man was the most important person to me. I had always loved him and I always will.

“You two are not really blood related brother and sister huh?” Rhio asked.

When he looked at me, he saw me crying.

“Haha, that’s why I told Dylan that he’s harsh. Making her sister cry just like that.” He added.

I couldn’t stop my tears from flowing. I couldn’t feel anything. It’s just that the tears wouldn’t stop falling from my eyes.

Dylan used to invite me to visit a horror house.

“There’s no one in there. Come here!”

“Who’s this?” I asked Rhio.

“Ah, she’s Mirloune Clyde.” He answered as if he knew her before.

Clyde? Was she related to Jairo?

“Now that you mention it, you have a younger brother right, Mirlo?”

“Brother?”

“You’re interested, Jen?”

“We’re family of assassins. He’s one year older than you. If you two meet in the future, please be a good friend to him, Jen.”

“Wha? Is that Hashiko and Hashimaru over there?”

I asked.

“Sorry, Hashimaru.”

“So this is your sister? She’s cute. When you become a real woman in the future, date me.” 

“What are you saying to my sister!” 

Like father like son. They both managed to ask me the same thing. Dylan clobbered him.

I was glad I didn’t remember that. I could have really killed Hashimaru the moment I saw him.

“You guys are agents?”

“Jen, you shouldn’t have followed me.”

“But I...”

I thought because I know Dylan, it’s alright but it’s not. He, becoming an agent, was the main reason why he left me.

“Dylan! Why did you cover up for the world?”

“I can’t just let it be destroyed, Jen.”

“You don’t need to sacrifice yourself. Please don’t go.”

That time, the physical and the spiritual world was in the verge of destruction.

“I’m sorry, Jen.” 

“Why are you—?”

“Thank you, Jen. I will never forget you.”

That man just saved the world from darkness. The world’s in a big debt to him, but...

“I thought you hate the dark. I’ll become the light that encompasses the dark for you and the world.”

“That’s right. Dylan became the artifact to save the world.”
