Chapter 4:

The play is on

Luck can't grant you the perfect girlfriend, or maybe it can?

Hikari moved like a beast towards the fridge and opened it. He took a whole beer and drank it all with the first sip.

After this he was dancing like a stupid, basically to settle it right like a real drunk.

"So, let the party begin" He took a deep breath and said.

I was wondering what the hell happened but then I remembered how vulnerable Hikari is to alcohol.

I guess when he said "I will do my thing" he meant this.

Arima came a bit closer to me.

"This guy is fucking crazy with other words he is cool" He declared and went to party with him.

The house had become chaotic. I felt really sorry about Hikari's mother.

I approached him in order to talk with him.

"Bruh, what happened? You are a way different person than before" I said to him.

"Haha bro, I talked to a girl, can you believe it?" He questioned me.

"Nice bro, nice, this is a development but now we will end this party."

"What? Why?" Everyone asked together.

"This party ends, officially. So get out of the house now" I shouted.

"You're being lame dude" Arima yelled at me.

"Yeah you are lame dude, haha" Hikari yelled at me"

I was getting the scold of my life like a moron but I didn't pay that much attention to be honest.

Subsequently everyone in the room left and I stayed only with Itsuki and Hikari.

"Sorry bro, I was a total moron" Hikari apologized.

"The party was a total disaster to be honest" Itsuki said.

"Yeah you're right, I wanted to make a wholesome party at first but it ended like this" I uttered.

"It's okay Daiki, It was also my fault that my party concluded like this" Hikari declared.

After this "horrendous" party I accompanied Itsuki to her home and subsequently I headed to my home.

"Oh welcome, did the party go well ?" My mother asked.

"I will be honest, it was really lame" I said and went to my room immediately.

I've been thinking for hours and hours about my charisma of luck, and I concluded that for the past two days it didn't work so well.

Probably it got rotten.

The following day at school, our president announced about an upcoming festival that our school holds.

So with a few words our school every year organises a school festival. Every class takes the responsibility for a specific industry, section and of course a theatrical play.

This year our class got the theatrical play. As I expected.

"So guys as you already know we have got the theatrical play, so I will make some suggestions about plays that are candidates.

Our class rep suggested The Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Beauty and the beast.

A high percentage of our class voted for Red Riding Hood and then it settled.

Red Hood has always been my favourite book since I was a child.

We still had to select who will play Red Riding Hood and the other characters.

We all agreed on the fact that Itsuki would play Red Riding hood. I was also expecting that, I mean Itsuki is a real beauty so of course they would have chosen her for that role.

In the meantime I was chosen with the responsibility of the photographer. My section would be to take photos during the show and then I would upload them to the school website.

“I’m really happy that I was selected for this role, I will do my best” Itsuki said.

“I’m sure you will,” I encouraged her.

And I also was happy that my role was a photographer because to be honest I didn't wanted to take part in the play.

Although I could play a role, I don't like to be the centre of attention. I prefer to be quiet in a corner and take photos.

But that also gives me the chance to take photos of Itsuki. I'll try to get the best photos of Itsuki for the good of my country… I mean my school's.

Hikari was selected to play the big bad wolf and to be honest I couldn't keep my laughter when I heard that. I'm wondering if he will manage to perform good in the play.

But from the moment he will wear a mask I don't think he should be anxious about the crowd. Unlike me.

The festival is in two weeks so we have plenty of time to prepare. At least that's what I hope.

Because the play should be different from the original story we will have to come up with a new one. And the bad thing is that no one of us is capable of doing something like this.

The whole class gathered in the shape of a circle and started wondering what to do about the story.

Suddenly Itsuki, for my bad luck, came up with an idea.

"Hey, Daiki, yesterday you said that you were used to writing stories, right?" Itsuki exclaimed.

"Y-yes." I replied with a low voice.

I knew exactly how this was going to end.

"So you can come up with the story."

Yep, that's exactly what I thought was going to happen.

"Well…" I started, "I haven't written anything for a long time, so I'm not so sure if I'm the appropriate person to do something like that."

With a little bit of luck I'll manage to get out of this situation.

But as soon as my classmates heard what Itsuki said they turned to face me.

"As I said I'm…"

"Come on Daiki, do it for me~" Itsuki said.

Oh, come on now. That's not fair. How can I refuse now?

"Okay, fine, I'll try. But don't wait anything amazing from me."

"Good, good, now we have our story. Well, people let's get our costumes now."

She didn't listened to me at all, did she?

Ah, I can't blame her. I guess she is too excited for the play. But now I have two jobs to do. I have to take photo and write the scenario.

Focused as I was in my thoughts I didn't understand that everyone had left the classroom and I had been left alone standing in the middle of the classroom.

Well, I guess I should also head back, I have a story to create.

I left the school after the last lesson finished and headed home.

"How did the school go?" My mother asked me.

"Fine, the usual. I have to come up with a story."

"Oh? I thought you had given on writing, what a surprise."

"Yeah, yeah. Well I'll be in my room if you need me for something."

I threw my backpack on the bed and opened the computer.

"Alright, Red Riding Hood alternative story. Here we go."
