Chapter 7:
I'll Be A Witch In My Next Life
I was playing with Riri, the black cat.
Yes, I named him and I let him sleep with me.
I didn’t know why this cat appeared but he saved my second life. He’s already a blessing to me.
My mother and father were totally against taking care of it first but oh well, I managed to convince them.

“My lady, you have received a carriage full of presents from the crown prince.” The butler announced while we were having our breakfast.
We were all stunned.
When I saw those presents, my mind went blank.
“What the hell is wrong with that stupid crown prince!” My voice echoed all throughout our house.
“My lady, somebody might hear you.” Dianne, my personal maid, tried to stop me from totally voicing out my mind.
I was really trying to cut Alexander, the crown prince, out of my life.

The next day, Alexander came to our house.
“It’s good to see you, my lady.” he greeted, inclining and planting a kiss on my right hand. Why was he shimmering? It's unsettling.
“Your highness, what brings you to our humble home?” I smiled with the look of “What the hell are you doing here?” If he wasn’t the crown prince, I would definitely cut his m*nh**d.
“I missed you.” He smilingly said. What theᅳ!
I took a deep breath and smiled.
“Your highness, you are wasting your time.” I said. "My love for you had faded a long time ago. Anything you do will just annoy me so please give your time to the other lady you fancy." I explained. Please leave me alone already.
"Are you jealous of Lady Morphin?" He held my hands so suddenly. Who the hell was that? Honestly, I don’t care.
“Stop it, your highness. Let me go!” I struggled to free my hands from his grip, but he was too strong.
I was getting a little scared of him but thankfully, someone grabbed my arms away from him. It was Vin on my left and Vandrel on my right.
“Brothers, why are youᅳ?” I was also surprised. Where did they come from?
“Your highness, you are hurting our sister.” Vin calmly explained, but I sensed anger in his words.
“Yes, your highness. Please do not cross the line.” Vandrel also glared. “I’ve already said before, she’s not your fiancée anymore,” he emphasized.
“Stop getting in my way, Sir Vin and Sir Vandrel. I am talking to Valkyrie.” He sounded annoyed when he said that.
“Please watch your manners, your highness. You are still in the presence of the daughter of the Evergreen family. Our family have supported your family for ages.” Vin also explained.
My goodness, they were fighting. The crown prince’s knights were about to unsheathe their swords.
“Valkyrie is to be my wife. She couldn’t possibly become a witch!” Alexander sounded so confident. Those words annoyed me to the bone.
***
“Brothers…” I appreciate their concern for me but I have to make my stand or else, I can’t become a witch.
“I can take it.” Vin and Vandrel both flinched at my icy tone. Thereafter, they yielded and let me pass.
I could sense their anxiety. Then, I caressed the crown prince's cheek.
“Alexander, I’m a witch.” I didn’t have any ill intentions when I said that but a part of me started to run rampant.
I could hear my cat, Riri, roar from my room all the way to the garden. His roar echoed throughout our house.
My whole body also started to glow. I backed my hands off away from the crown prince.
“What’s happening, Val?” Vin questioned me.
We were all captivated by the unfolding spectacle. Vandrel appeared particularly concerned for me, as though he comprehended the situation.
He approached me and attempted to grasp my hands.
"Val, cease your mana release," he exclaimed.
The ground beneath me began to sprout unfamiliar, enchanting flowers.
My heart was thumping fiercely and causing me discomfort.
It felt like my entire being was on the verge of falling apart.
“Stay away from me!” Yes, I only uttered those words but the moment I said that, the people around me was pushed by some unknown force.
“What’s going on? What’s wrong with me?” I asked myself.
When Alexander attempted to make contact, his knights intervened to prevent him.
“Your highness, it’s dangerous!” They tried to block Alexander so he wouldn’t be able to get near me.
I held my chest out of pain. I couldn’t take it anymore. The glow around me started to go rampant and was leaking everywhere. The grass, the trees and even the water around me perished the moment the glow touched them. I was so scared.
I might kill everyone. All I did was say “I’m a witch” and this all happened.
“Val! Val!”
Despite my brothers' desperate calls, their voices faded into the background, beyond my reach. I strained to grasp their hands, but an invisible barrier prevented me from drawing near to them.
Determinedly, Vandrel unsheathed his sword and sliced at the barrier with his ominous aura, yet each time it was cut, the shield instantly restored itself, frustrating his efforts.
When it felt like I was about to lose hope, my whole body floated in the air.
“It hurts.” I reached out to my aching chest once more.
“Someone, save me.” I whispered as if my voice was about to lose its sound.
In an instant, a beam of light pierced through the impenetrable shield.
Before me stood a striking man with white hair and golden eyes. He gently caressed my head and reassured me to “Calm down.” After that, I lost consciousness.
