Chapter 54

I know there are 11 demons here, my 8 eyes picked them all out.
There doesn't seem to be any evolved version of the demons here, they all look the same.
The main issue is saving the mermaid, I shoot out a web at her to capture her.
The demon grabs the web and is surprised he's stuck, has it never seen a spider before?
I control it and split it, 2 demons are now tied up, I pick up the mermaid too and zip her over to me.
10 left, they begin to attack all at once.
I slash at them but it's not enough to cut them in half, I have to put more power in it.
I hit harder and it works, 2 are cut down but the others aren't letting up, in fact they are getting more dedicated.
It must be some skill or title they have but I don't have a status skill to see it.
Things are heating up, literally.
The place is getting hotter, the demons are burning hot as they seem to be getting stronger overall.
They are even blocking my normal swings now, the 2 I wrapped out have escaped.
The heat is melting the webs.
Several of them cast fireball right at me.
The elf managed to hit 2 of them but the other one hits me.
It's burning me harder than I thought but I can handle it, I'm already under a heal spell after all.
One is near me so I kill it but my sharp scythe like legs are burning.
It's the blood!
Their very blood is burning like lava, they must be fire demons right.
This is why the fireballs are stronger than normal ones, that means I can't bite them either since my mouth will melt and the poison too.
7 left, they surround me but I can see them with my wide field of vision.
My sharpness is decreasing from the lava blood but I am getting healed so it's not an issue for too long.
None of them are escaping, that's the kind of species they are.

They split up and 4 go after the girls, they are after the healer.
They are attracted to the holy magic since they are demons right.
The rogue handles one of them while I make it in time to defend them.
As she's holding one back, I kill it from the side.
The all come to together to attack which is the perfect chance for us, the elf launches a stronger magic arrow and it explodes on the front demon.
It dies and the others are blown back a bit.
Using this chance I begin dealing with them in the smoke.
Fireballs come out in different directions as they can't see, this is bad.
If I were alone I might not make it but we are a team, archer elf destroys the fireball coming at us.
My legs are melting but I am healed enough to cut them all up.
One by one I do a powerful strike and cut them in half.
Their blood spills all over and the floor itself now is like lava.
It hurts but eventually it cools and the healing makes the pain go away.
A sudden thud is heard.
The cave is shaking? it seems a bigger demon is heading over.
'let's get out of here' says the rogue as she grabs the mermaid and we head off.
'seems that one is why adventurers keep dying'
'yeah, it's a giant variant, it's rare and a strong B rank monster'
We head back to the town and call it a day for the fighting.
