“oh how interesting! if my series gets an anime, maybe you could edit it?"

" Yeah sure!" I was excited I got the first person who wanted me to be their editor.

AFTER CLASS

" Hey Lilly, I'm Freya. I heard you say you want to be a manga artist. Do you have any stories yet?"

" Oh no unfortunately I'm not that good at writing stories but I am really good at drawing."

oh, how unfortunate luckily, I know someone great at writing and needs someone to do art for them."

" Oh, wow sounds like the person I need, who are they? do they need me to show them a drawing.?"

"That person is me, and if you could I would like to see a drawing since you seem to think you're super good."

" Oh, don't worry I can draw anything if you have a main character just write down everything about them and I'll have a full body page of the main character with and without color."

"Oh, that'd be great. I've tried drawing, but the stuff doesn't stick with me, and it ends up looking too bad to show even to the nicest person in the world."

"Yeah, I understand that's what happens when I write, the words just jumble, and the story makes no sense."

yeah (sigh) " well see you tomorrow oh wait I should probably make that list before I go about my main character. okay there you go bye!"

" Hey Lilly, I'm Sophia. I want to be an editor for manga. It's like suggesting stuff that makes the story better like if a fight ended with a character dying, they'd make it more interesting or if they're a bad editor they make things fall flat. Of course, I hope to be remembered as a good editor when I end up retiring. Sorry, I ramble too much."

" Oh no! but hey I was just talking to Freya about us teaming up and making a manga. Maybe you could be the editor if you can really make it better."

oh yeah don't worry I have written a few novels and taken some classes on what makes things more interesting, how a simple edit could ruin a manga."

"Oh yeah that reminds me manga-con coming up in a few weeks at the start of summer me you and Freya should all go."

"What's manga-con?"

"Oh, it's a wonderful convention where some of the top mangaka now come to speak and inspire the next generation, also their editors give some insight into the changes they've made. I've been every year and I've met Yuta Moriaka the creator of moprika I got an autograph wanna see?"

" Sure, I love moprika. It's a lovely story of a girl who gets reincarnated as a goddess in the goddess tree where all gods and goddesses live but there is a secret devil, and they have to figure out who it is."

"Exactly and here is my signed copy of volume 1."

"Oh, wow and it's an exclusive cover with the main characters flowing blue hair standing next to a BLUE Sakura tree and being all sparkly. The art is so beautiful."

"And the best part is I am the only one who owns this cover."

"What?"

"Yeah, you see there was a drawing contest with exclusive volumes for 3 series. This was the second-place prize. the first-place guy paired up with an author and is working on a manga one kill."

"No way is he going to be there this year. I love that series. The writing is great, and the art adds to it."

"Yeah, he will but let me warn you he's a jerk. He totally disrespected my art."

" Oh, wow well if he's the only one that beat you, you're really good I mean hey given how good his art is I would doubt he left his house for most of his life."

"Hehe, I guess you're right, at least I live an everyday life while still practicing my drawings. Hey, let's exchange contact info. I got Freya's right here on this note. We should form a group chat. We can be a trio of manga creators and editors."

"Yeah, we'll see you tomorrow, Lilly."
