Father meets daughter

Lan Du dragged Xue Tan and Xue Hui along with Xie Jing and Xie Ying to the Golden Wing restaurant.

Xue Tan felt his heart bleed under how much money he had to spend.But Lan Du’s way of speaking made it close to impossible to reject.

Xue Hui was a bit clueless about but he knew that Xue Tan was pained by the money spending.He made a silent vow to never go against Lan Du Incase he gets sold off one day without his notice.

“Senior brothers, no need to feel bad, I want order too much for you poor wallet’s sake”Lan Du grinned and said

Xue Tan almost fell when he heard her, Lan Du was clearly provoking him as well as mocking him.

“No need, you will eat till you’re full”he replied without thinking

Lan Du smirked

“I was waiting for you to say that, Xie Jing, Xie Ying, we will eat our will today!”Lan Du laughed and said

Xue Tan suddenly felt cheated, Lan Du was just too good at provoking him.The girls giggled but didn’t make it too obvious as they were still their seniors.

Lan Du shrugged her shoulders and played innocent in front of them.

‘Why do I have to have such a vicious junior...’Xue Tan was bleeding on the inside at the moment

Lan Du chuckles and continues to follow behind.They soon arrived in front of the Golden Wing Restaurant and walked in.

“I’d like a room for 5”Xue Tan said

Lan Du passed him her gold card so he could get a discount.The receptionist was surprised to see the gold card and immediately prepared the room for them.

“Lan Du, tell me honestly, what is your background?”Xue Tan asked

“I’m just a regular student”she replied

“Then your parents must be well known, how else could you get this card?”

“My mother barely even goes out so almost no one knows her and my father...I don’t have one”Lan Du said decisively

Xue Tan and the others were shocked, even the sisters didn’t hear about this.

“I apologize for bringing up this, I didn’t know your father already...”Xue Tan said apologetically

Lan Du smiled

“He isn’t dead...at least not to the public, to me, the word father is something I have yet to even call that bastard”Lan Du said with a cold look on her face.

Her words felt odd to them, it was clear that Lan Du hated her father.

“But why?Isnt he your birth father?”Xue Hui asked with confusion

“Birth father?If he even knows he has a child I can still consider that”Lan Du’s expression was colder tyan before

“Enough, today we came to eat, not to talk about the bastard”Lan Du suddenly said and smiled warmly

‘Does his father not even know of his existence?’

They were more shocked than before, they wanted to apologize but seeing Lan Du not wanting to speak of the subject, they chose to drop it.

They felt sorry for Lan Du, to think his father didn’t even know of his existence!What type of experience has he been through?

The dishes were soon carried in and everyone began to eat.Lan Du’s casual expression when she ate only worried them even more.

“Xie Jing, your cheek isn’t as pinchable as Xie Ying’s, you should eat a bit more”Lan Du said gently as she picked some food and gave it to Xie Jing.

“mn”Xie Jing nodded shyly and ate it

Xie Ying blushed slightly and tucked Lan Du’s shirt with a shy expression.

Lan Du grinned and held up a piece of meat with her chopsticks.

“Should I feel it by hand...or by mouth?”Lan Du asked teasingly

The Xue brother’s eyes widened, to think Lan Du was so bold to even say it in front of them!

Xie Ying blushed and chose to eat off the chopsticks before Lan Du teases her even more.

Suddenly, Lan Du’s phone rang.She stopped eating and picked up the phone.Her expression suddenly became serious as she stood up.

“I apologize, I need to leave, something happened to my mother”Lan Du’s expression was grim as she ran out the restaurant.

She ran off before they could ask anything so they could only watch as she ran off.

Lan Du ran in the direction of a nearby hospital and ran in.Her breath was heavy and sweat rolled down her face.She ran to the counter.

“Where’s my mother”she asked desperately

“Are you Lan Du?”the receptionist asked

“Yes, where is my mother”Lan Du’s expression was more worried than before

“She is in the second floor, room three”the receptionist said

Lan Du ran off immediately

She ran into the room and saw her mother laying on the bed with her eyes closed.Her breathing was stable but her heart rate was going up and down.

Lan Du clenched her hands

A doctor walked in and saw Lan Du standing there.Lan Du turned to see him and asked

“What happened to her, she was just fine a few days ago!”

The doctor sighed and said

“Her condition is strange, it seems that she saw or met something that caused her mental state to go unstable, we are trying our best to stabilize it”he said helplessly

“You should be her son, can you tell us if there are anything that can cause her mental state to go awry?”the doctor asked

Lan Du nodded

“As far as I know, there are only two, one is me while the other...is my father”she said bitterly

“You don’t seem to know much about why she is like this so I assume it is your father”the doctor said seriously

Lan Du nodded and asked

“Has anyone visited her before I came?”she asked

“ah, yes there is, a fine gentleman said he knew her and came to visit, he left not too long ago to buy some fruits”he said

Lan Du’s body shook, if it was his father that suited, then it made sense, she placed the hood she had on over her head.

She sat down with her back facing the door which confused the doctor, why did she just put the good on?

Soon, the doors opened and a man walked in.The man saw Lan Du seated in front of Lan Xin But didn’t know who it was.

The man was...Colonel Yuan Min!

The doctor saw tha man and smiled

“Since you are here, I will leave you three be, tell me if anything goes wrong”he said and left the room

Yuan Min nodded but stared at Lan Du

“Who are you?”he asked

Lan Du covered her mouth and pinched her throat to change her voice.

“It’s none of your business”

She recognized that voice and knew who it was immediately.She cannot have Yuan Min know who she is right now.

“That woman is my wife, if you are here, it is my business”he growled

Lan Du snorted

“Her wife?Thats strange, I have never heard of her having a husband, as far as I know, she has been alone for the past 12 and a half years”Lan Du said coldly

Yuan Min frowned

“I have been busy for the past twelve years, it’s normal for a misunderstanding to occur”he said sternly

“Misunderstanding?what a great husband you are then, leaving your wife for over twelve years”Lan Du was letting out all the pent up anger in her heart.

This is a rare opportunity for her to do so without the colonel knowing who she is.

“Who are you to say all this?”he asked angrily

“It doesn’t matter who I am, get lost if you have nothing else to say”she said coldly

“You!”Yuan Min was especially angry right now

Just then, Lan Xian’s eyes trembled as she opened them.

“Y-Yuan Min...”she mumbled, her eyes began tearing as she fainted again

“Mother!”

Lan Du subconsciously shouted out, her words shocked Yuan Min.

The word mother rang through his mind and heart.The voice also sounded...feminine!

Yuan Min still couldn’t see who it was but he was in too much of a shock.He-he has a daughter!

Lan Du covered her mouth

Yuan Min reached out his hand, he was about to take off Lan Du’s hood when Lan Du jumped to the side and ran for the window.

“Wait!”

Yuan Min called out but Lan Du jumped out the window and fell.She held out her arms to make sure her legs won’t break.The impact of the fall shattered both her arms as she rolled to reduce a bit more impact and landed on the ground.

“No!”Yuan Min cried out

But to his shock, Lan Du stumbles up and began running, her arms were by her side,it didn’t move at all.It was clear to everyone who saw her jump that her arms are broken.

To think she would go so far to avoid Yuan Min.Lan Du’s breath was haggard and her hand was bleeding.

Her back was also stained red from rolling to reduce impact.

Yuan Min watched as his daughter ran from him.

‘Why...why do you avoid me?I-I wanted to meet Lan Xin, but to meet my daughter, yet why does she avoid me?’

Yuan Min’s mind was in chaos

‘She must have broken multiple bones from that fall, I have to find her!’

Lan Du continued to run despite the pain screaming at her.Her mind was blanking out.

Lan Du ran back to Golden Wing restaurant, but before she made it in, she collapsed under the stress on her body.

“L-Lan Du!”

Xie Jing and Xie Ying came out with Xue Hui and Xue Tan saw Lan Du and ran up.

“Lan Du, what happened!”Xue Tan asked, his eyes were full of consern

But instead, Lan Du used the last of her strength and said

“hide me, don’t...let him find me...”she was barely holding on

They were confused but they carried Lan Du to a secluded area.Xue Hun took out some medicine and bandages and began wrapping up Lan Du’s arms and legs.

“My back is fine so no need to do it, just get me some sticks to straighten my arm with bandages”Lan Du said

“Your back is bleeding, how is it okay!”Xie Jing shouted

“It’s fine, now is not the place to bandage me up, I will do it at home, later if you meet anyone asking for me, tell him you didn’t see me”Lan Du said sternly

“Who is chasing after you?”Xie Ying asked

Lan Du bit the bottom of her lips

“Don’t ask too much, knowing too much will cause trouble for both of us”Lan Du said with great difficulty

She laid back and began resting while the others made sure no one was around

“How did you get injured?”they asked, Lan Du was considered a top fighter so getting injured was not easy.

“To escape, I jumped out the window from the second floor, luckily no major injuries are done”

“Your arm is broken!”they shouted

“And I still have my legs”Lan Du smiled and said

“You can still joke around with these injuries, you are a monster”Xue Tan said

Lan Du chuckled

“We are aiming to become solders, not cowards, am I suppose to be crying instead?”

The other four nodded, but Lan Du’s requirement seemed a bit high.Not everyone can just laugh off a broken arm.

“But there is a plus side to the broken arm”Lan Du suddenly said seriously

“What is it?”they asked curiously, how can a broken arm bright any good concepts?

Lan Du grinned at Xie Ying and Xie Jing

“Now that I cant use my arms, someone has to feed me, JingJing, YingYing, I have fed you both for quite some time, maybe you two can help me out this time”Lan Du said with a sly smile

She was trying her best to distract herself from the pain at the moment, teasing the twins are one of the best ways for her.

The two blushed and nodded

Xue Tan and Xue Hui wanted to beat Lan Du suddenly, only she can think of something like this under such situations.

Xue Tan grinned and tried to tease Lan Du

“The how about I feed you”he said with a smile

Lan Du is read grinned back

“Sure, just make sure these two don’t kill you in the process”

Xue Tan looked over to where Lan Du was looking and .He saw Xie Jing and Xie Ying giving him death stares and looks of disgust.

He suddenly backed away.
