Chapter 56:

The Electric Castle

Ane And His Seames

Ane, Lisa, Sid, Ene and Eina stood in the air across from a mansion in a dilapidated forest with graves; staring as electricity thumped all over from the building which caused flames to engulf all around the forest. "Well that isn't ominous." Lisa said sarcastically.

"How do we approach this?" Ane asked. Eina held her chin.

"We should test..." Eina began

"The voltage before coming up with the plan." Sid added. Ane tilted his head.

"How?" he asked.

"By..." Eina began as she stepped forward to be struck by a bolt of electricity she impulsively kicked to be blasted away.

"Eina!" Ane and Ene yelled.

"I'm okay." Eina said as she stood as the team landed next to her. "Lisa." she called.

"Yeah; I have to do a combo attack or something right?" Lisa inquired. Eina nodded.

"Here's my plan." Sid said. Eina eyed him and then smirked.

"So that's how it is." she thought.

Lisa and Eina stood in front of everyone. "This is gonna be tough doing and learning a duo attack simultaneously." Eina stated.

"That is true." Lisa said before watching Ane. "But we have to try. You never know who's trapped in there." she added; turning her focus back to the mansion.

"I guess you're right." Eina stated; eyes shielded. She and Lisa braced themselves. Lisa spat wind and Eina lifted her hand; trees sprouting from the ground but the wind and trees clashed into one another.

"Tsk. Let's try again." Lisa said. Eina nodded. The girls attempted several times to the the combo attack but it was all in vain.

"This is hopeless." Eina complained; face palming.

"Is there no other way we might get in?" Lisa asked; turning to the boys.

"Yeah; Sid. Is there?" Eina questioned; turning also.

"Is she...?" Sid thought. He held his face; groaning in thought. "I'll use that!" he yelled; opening his eyes since he had closed when engaged in thought. Sid's shadow split in two and attached to Eina's and Lisa's shadows. Sid's shadow then detached from him and attached the girls' shadows together. "Shadow Conversion." Sid remarked. Ene rose an eyebrow.

"What now?" he asked Sid. Lisa and Eina rose their right hands in sink.

"Cool! We move in sync!" they both yelled in amazement.

"Neat." Ene admitted; nodding.

"Whatever I do; she does too!" the girls exclaimed. "Ane vice versa." they continued to then eye Sid.

"Now you two can go on with the combo." he remarked; grinning smugly. The girls looked slightly irritated as they turned.

"Let's do this!" they exclaimed. "Combo Attack: Wind Forest!" they shouted. Lisa's winds blew away some of the fires; taking some electricity with it. Eina's trees absorbed the remaining electricity and the winds soared into the sky as the trees bent and stuck themselves far away from the teens. The girls' shadows separated and they were panting.

"Moving two bodies at the same time is amazing!" Lisa remarked.

"And tiring." Eina added; exhaling. Ane walked to the building that was now surrounded by electricity yet again.

"Any new ideas?" he asked.

"Well I honestly don't have any." Sid stated. "Wait; how about that counter of yours?" he suggested.

"I don't know how to use a counter like my father or a nullification like my uncle." Ane replied bluntly. "But I can attempt to learn them but in the meantime; you guys should think of another strategy." he said; summoning his dragon claws. Lisa stood before him; arms outstretched.

"No, you'll kill yourself!" the girl scolded.

"I won't." Ane reassured.

"I believe you won't too but..." Eina began; drawing everyone's attention to her. "You can do it a way without touching the electricity directly." Eina continued. Sid smiled.

"I get you." he whispered; nodding. Ane rose an eyebrow.

"I'm lost. How is it possible?" he asked.

"Clones." Eina replied bluntly.

"Ohhh; I get it now." Lisa said; smiling. Ene nodded.

"You did somehow use clones before." he added.

"I'll need plenty though. This counter might take long to..."learn"." Ane remarked.

"Understandable. Everyone make way." Eina advised. All the teens backed away from Ane.

"Human Clones!" Ane yelled. Anes emerged all around; grinning and swinging their dragon claws. "Let's do this!" one Ane chanted. The others cheered in determination before charging the building and slash to all get blasted away. Sid sighed.

"This will take a while." he thought as he sat down. The day slowly turned to night as the boy drifted out and in of sleep. Sid finally fully awoke and saw even more Anes around than before; bruised and panting. "Any luck yet?" Sid asked.

"No. We've made no progress." one Ane complained. Another sighed and Lisa gently patted an Ane on his shoulder.

"It's okay. Let's rest for now. We'll see to it tomorrow." Lisa remarked.

"Okay." Ane said as his clones vanished into elemental energy.

"We can't ALL rest though. We never know what's lurking in this place." Eina remarked.

"And someone has to monitor the electricity." Sid added. Eina rolled her eyes at him.

"I'll do it." Ene volunteered.

"So will I." Sid said.

"Okay; that's settled." Lisa remarked. Ane eyed the castle and frowned.

Ane opened his eyes to the night sky to see rain pouring down. "Guys; it's raining." he said as he sat up to see he was in a completely different forest. "Where am I?" he thought. A young him ran before Ane and he remained silent before chasing after his younger self. Present Ane caught up to see his young self panting and eying Carter who stood there with a grin.

"D-dad?" Young Ane began to be kicked in the stomach. Spit flung from his mouth as he got smacked into a tree.

"Get lost; brat." Carter snared; glaring. Present Ane frowned as Carter kicked young Ane through some trees. The dragon's elemental energy slowly dispersed from young Ane and he landed on a tree trunk and shot at at his father; trees behind him flinging away. His dragon claws were inched from his father's face in an instant. Carter hit Ane with a large blade with even greater speed. "Counter." Carter said calmly. Young Ane reverted to normal and the present Ane stared silently. The memory seemed to flash and then Young Ane shot at Carter again and Carter hit him with a baseball bat.

"Huh?" Present Ane inquired in confusion.

"Counter." Carter said calmly. Young Ane turned to normal and Present Ane shot awake; his face bouncing into something.
