Chapter 62:

Two "Geniuses"

Ane And His Seames

Eina and Sid were walking with groceries in hand. "That Ane...he's becoming like that teacher. Sending us on his errands." Eina complained.

"Well we can't complain. We didn't do much at all when it was with Linx." Sid remarked. Eina's eyes were shielded.

"I guess that's true." she said softly. The two entered a dark hallway and a dark figure landed before them. The teens jumped back and frowned. "YOU!" Eina yelled as MM(Masked Man) stood there; dragon eyes gleaming.

"What do you want you bastard?" Sid growled as he summoned his weapon.

"I'm gonna take you two out. If I eliminate all of Ane's...friends; he will learn what despair is and then will be forced to rely on the dragon's power. Hence; when he returns to normal I can easily take him out as he is weakened." MM explained calmly.

"What if he doesn't return to normal?" Sid inquired. MM stared back coldly.

"Then the world would have been gone either way." he stated.

"Tsk." Eina said; clenching her fists.

"However; I'll make this assassination "fun". For me at least." MM stated as he watched the teenagers right in the eyes. Their eyes widened and they collapsed.

Eina slowly opened her eyes to a closed up area where lit sipped in through the top which was inches from her face. "What is this?" she thought before pushing open the top to realize she was in a coffin. "What the hell?" she asked as she sat up in church attire.

"It seems he framed our deaths." Sid stated; clearing his throat. Eina turned to him to see him staring from his coffin gravely. Eina looked around at the empty church and her eyes fell on other coffins. "Empty."  Sid remarked dryly; following her gaze.

"Th-this isn't good." Eina whispered.

"I know it isn't. Ane went berserk." Sid remarked. The ground shook and the teens eyes' widened. The upper half of the church blasted away from a gust and Eina and Sid avoided debris and dove into the air. They looked shocked as the entire area around them was but a wasteland.

"This is...the end of the world!" Eina cried. A roar shook the air and the duo turned to see the dragon's eyes towering over the entire planet. Dread filled both teens and Eina landed and sat broke down; crying. Sid landed; eyes shielded.

"I-I....w-we...this is it! It's all over!" Eina screamed; itching her face and trembling. Sid slapped her.

"Calm down!" he scolded. Eina eased up and gulped.

"I-I'm sorry." she stammered. Sid exhaled and eyed the dragon's eye; sweating. He summoned his blade and sliced at another blade which lunged at him. A random man jumped from the debris.

"Earth Style..." the man began. Eina stood up but Sid held her back. Sid got stabbed with rocks.

"Sid!" Eina yelled. Sid fell to the ground and Eina backed away; vision blurring. "S-Sid?" she whispered.

"It's okay." Sid stated as he stood. Eina stared in confusion that increased as the rocks vanished. "This is all an illusion." Sid remarked; frowning. "ALL OF IT!" he roared kicking some debris furiously. Eina's eyes were shielded.

"It is?" she whispered. "So why react as if you didn't want it to be Sid. How  long has it been for you in here?" she thought; eying Sid.

"That masked bastard used our fear to prevent us from analyzing for the truth. That all this was fake. I can't believe I was fooled for so long." Sid growled; holding his face stressfully. Eina clenched her teeth before punching away the assailant that was standing by in complete petrification at the apparent resurrection of Sid.

"Defeating the masked man is our only ticket out of here." Eina said; frowning. Sid smiled.

"Good to have you back Eina. That's my fellow genius." he said. Eina blushed and looked away.

"I never said I was one." she stated.

"Incoming." Sid said; turning. A huge wave of water towered over the two who jumped back to see Lana riding the waves. She had a black jacket; torn baby blue shirt under, a black skirt and a metal prosthetic arm.

"Lana too, huh." Eina said through clenched teeth.

"It's just an illusion." Sid said.

"Even so..." Eina said; clenching her fists. Lana eyed her.

"Is that really you...Eina?!" Lana yelled. The wave settled and Eina and Sid landed. "Sid too? How are you two alive!?" Lana cried.

"Tsk." Eina said.

"That was all the Masked Man's plan in action. He put us in a coma and faked our deaths so the dragon would be unleashed." Sid explained. Eina's eyes were shielded and Lana frowned.

"B-but...that bastard." she said; grinding her teeth.

"Yeah yeah." Eina began. "Just tell us where we can find him." she growled angrily.

"Eina...what's wrong. It's been two months and you won't look me in the eye." Lana inquired; approaching Eina.

"Shut up!" Eina boomed. Alarm then sadness filled Lana's face. Sid gently patted Eina on the shoulder.

"It's okay." he said. Eina slapped his hand off.

"No it isn't! None of this matters cause it's all FAKE! She isn't real! This world's a fucking illusion that masked bastard created. He toyed with both our feelings and mind!" Eina yelled.

"What?" Lana asked; frowning. Sid sighed.

"What a drag." he thought dryly.
