Chapter 63:

Two "Geniuses" Part Two

Ane And His Seames

Lana stood across Eina and Sid; eyes shielded. "I see." she said gravely.

"So yeah. You don't technically exist. There's no way to sugarcoat it." Eina said; watching away angrily.

"I know where that masked bastard resides at the moment." Lana stated dryly.

"Now all there is; is to defeat him." Eina said.

"Easier said than done." Lana stated. Eina and Sid eyed one another. "I'm guessing they have a plan." Lana thought; smiling sadly. "What's the plan?" Lana asked; watching Sid and Eina. The two pointed up and Lana watched up to see the dragon's eye towering over the planet. "The dragon?" Lana asked.

"Yup." Eina replied; nodding.

"How exactly is that beast going to help us?" Lana inquired.

"We need him to destroy the planet along with the masked man." Sid said bluntly; eyes shielded. Lana's eyes widened.

"I...but..." she began but bit her lip.

"We have no other choice. If the masked man gets his way; the real world will become this illusion in time." Sid said; gently patting her on the shoulder. Lana gripped her knees.

"I know." she whispered as she stood. "Let's do this." she said; nodding. The three teens stared upwards.

"I have this feeling we won't be able simply fly to him." Eina stated.

"That hunch is accurate. We'll be in the range of many powerful enemies." Lana remarked. Sid held his chin.  "I can slingshot us up but there's no guarantee we'll live." Lana said.

"Sid and I can't simply die but I think only the masked man can kill us." Eina stated. "You can die though. So are YOU sure you'll be up to this." she continued. Sid rose an eyebrow and grinned.

"What's this? Are you actually starting to care for this illusion?" he teased; eying Eina.

"I-I...shut it you idiot!" Eina yelled; turning away all flustered. Sid chuckled and Lana stood there silently. She placed her hands on the ground and water surrounded them. She clapped her hands and the water rocketed into the air.

"No warning!?" Eina yelled as she fell over but Sid caught her. He smiled at her and she stared back; blushing. She then looked shocked. "This elemental energy." she whispered; turning to see a huge magma monster standing far across scorching away what's left of the land by his mere stagnant presence. He turned his attention to teens.

"Ein-na." he said staring. He then roared strainfully and screamed; sending flames everywhere like a shockwave. It approached the teens.

"Oh crap." Lana said.

Lisa stood with a torn shirt and tights; spraying a large hand of air from her hand; shielding the others. "Lisa, you're alive?" Lana whispered.

"And so are Sid and Eina." Lisa remarked; looking back. "I don't know what's going on but you guys seem to. Press on." she growled after before leaving the rising stream of water.  Lana, Sid and Eina entered space to feel it tremble from a chuckle. The teens slowly stared at the eye and even more fear filled their bodies.

"I can't even will myself to shift." Sid thought; gulping.

"There's a particular two here that I remember dying." the dragon hissed. Eina gulped.

"This is all an illusion!" she yelled breathlessly.

"What?" the dragon asked as his eye seemed to watched through Eina who trembled and shuddered. "So all the destruction I did is just somebody's damn imagination!" he growled. Eina shakily nodded.

"So why have you brats come here?" the dragon inquired. Eina eyed Sid who gulped and the dragon chuckled.  "You want my help? How much do you worms tend to insult me!?" he asked; growling. Lana began shaking like crazy.

"A-Ane! I know you're still..." she began.

"Lana it's an illusion. You and him both." Eina interrupted defensively. Lana stopped and began sobbing.

"Why? Why us!!?" she cried. The dragon growled and she stopped crying.

"Fine." he said. "I'll destroy this place. Since I too shall vanish I shall enjoy making you two!" the dragon continued. Eina nodded. The dragon backed up and his mouth became visible to the teens. Lana looked down sadly and Eina and Sid gently patted her on her shoulders.

"We'll never let this become a reality." Eina vowed; smiling. The place went white.

Eina and Sid hit the ground and MM fell to one knee; panting. "You sure didn't wait; Eina." he said. "Tsk." he then remarked before vanishing into a black hole.

"W-we did it." Sid said softly; exhaling.

"Yeah." Eina added; smiling. Sid held his heart.

"So that's what I cheated felt like." he thought; smirking.

"We should return home." Eina stated; standing up. Sid nodded.

All the teens from the team sat in the sitting room. "So...you guys got out using the dragon." Ane said. Eina nodded.

"That masked man is despicable!" Lisa yelled; frowning.

"Anyway...where's Sid?" Ane inquired.

"He told me something about leaving." Eina remarked dryly.

"He left without saying goodbye?" Ene asked; raising an eyebrow. "What a dick." he said; shaking his head in pretense disappointment.

"Am I?" Sid asked as he appeared from the shadows. Ene fell off the couch in fright.

"You gotta stop doing that!" he scolded.

"Anyway; I am genuinely leaving." Sid remarked; rubbing the back of his head.

"Why so soon though?" Ane asked. Sid smiled.

"Hey; I honestly overstayed. I just had to relay your uncle's final words." he remarked. "My crew will still supply you with your financial needs. After all; that is their current objective. Sooner or later feels will go bad there; which is why I'm going elsewhere; wherever that is." Sid continued. He exhaled. "Good luck finding your parents Ane and I hope you all in this room survive to find your purposes as well. If I ever see you guys again..." he continued but Ane held up a finger.

"Don't pretend as if we're never going to see one another again. If you need us; I'll be the first one there." Ane said. Sid smiled and nodded. The team smiled back.

"I'll walk him out." Eina said as she hopped outside with Sid. Ane glance at Ene; grinning and Ene turned away silently.

Sid and Eina stood side by side. "So I guess this is it; fellow genius." Eina remarked; grinning.

"Yeah." Sid said; grinning. The sun was rising in the background. Eina turned to Sid but he shook his head. Eina smiled.

"I wasn't going to kiss you anyway; body possessor." she remarked; eyes shielded. "Good luck out there." she said; turning away.

"You as well; Eina Green." Sid called as he walked off.
