Chapter 0:

My Childhood ...

Taniguji Yudai and the Fruit of Iyase

In my life, I have a lot of things that I could say, Tragedy, War, Love, basically anything. My life is like a flower, fragile, can't protect anyone, can't do anything…” mumbled a man with red eyes, and black hair wearing a black jacket in an unknown place covered with blood and corpses everywhere to a teenage girl. He looked like he was going to faint in a few seconds. He began telling his life story to the adolescent girl…

I forgot when I started to get into kendo. But one thing I remember is that my father was a popular kendo master. He has a whole kendo dojo beside our house. I was so amazed at this ancient art that every day I would wake up and run to dad’s dojo to watch his student's training. So, one day when I was about 3, I asked my father to train me to become a kendo master in his dojo. He gladly accepted my request and let out a smile on his face. Gosh, I miss his kind and caring smile… But Anyways, On the first day of my training dad gave me a black, long, beautiful design katana. I was so happy about it.

“Yudai, this katana was given to me when I started training at your grandfather’s dojo 20-plus years ago. This legendary katana is passed down from generation to generation. I’m glad you chose this route to be a kendo master. I’m proud of you son.”

“Thanks, dad, I will use this katana to pressurize my dream to be a kendo master. I will practice every day with this. Thanks, dad!” I said while smiling in excitement over the sword. After that day I practiced from day till night, I was super-duper obsessed with kendo. I also remembered that Dad taught me how to hunt wild animals with a katana, and every time we track mom would cook the meat for dinner. It was the most looked forward to thing in my childhood.

My childhood is so perfect that after 2 months of my kendo journey mom adopted my little sister. Her name is Yuki. She is an absolute cutie pie. Her face is so charming. And the most beautiful thing about her is her aqua-colored eye. It’s rare in our village, even the whole country, to have aqua or any shades of blue for eye color. In our village, most people have red or black, or amber eyes. Yuki didn't grow up to be like me tho she dint get into kendo like I do but she was obsessed with cooking like mom. And of course, I like mom’s cooking just like how I like kendo.
