Skywatch Capital City

I wake up in my room with a pounding headache... damn. So this is it, the new world I’ve been isekai’d to. I can’t seem to recall anything that happened yesterday after eating. Well whatever I’ll ask Claire about it.

I meet with Claire down by the Inn’s front door.

“Hey Claire, good morning. I can’t seem to remember anything after we ate, my heads really fuzzy after that point, anything important happen after we ate?” (Chandler)

Clare suddenly blushes and has an embarrassed look.

“N-no... nothing at all!” (Claire)

Was it something I said? Why, did she act all weird?

“Anyways, since it’s morning now, I was thinking we should head to this nation’s capital city to get you weapons and armor.” (Claire)

Capital city huh? If I remember correctly the capital isn’t actually too far from here but I may be wrong. I probably should get some of this worlds armor, it feels weird being her in only a bloody shirt and pair of shorts.

“The capital isn’t to far it’s only about a two hour walk from here, we will get there by afternoon if we leave now.” (Claire)

We head out to the capital immediately from there.We stop to fight any monsters we see on the way and I end up raising my level to level 3, it’s also pretty close to going up to level 4 as well. With monster hunting a schmonin smoke breaks, the trip takes about 3 hours.

“Looks like we are here” (Claire)

We arrive at a big wall surrounding the city, this city seems huge. I probably should have been able to see the walls from Willows Den if not for all the trees there. Once we walk up to the gate, a guard in knight-like armor ends up letting us through.

“Welcome to Castleview, the Capital city of Skywatch.” (Claire)

I look around and it’s just like your typical fantasy city, with busy streets and people walking around.I’ve seen it a bunch of times in games and anime, but actually being here is crazy.

Claire begins to lead me towards a weapons and armor shop she’s been to before.

“Your first goal should be to get some armor, your current clothes aren’t going to be the best option for protection.” (Claire)

“Yeah, I guess you are right about that.” (Chandler)

“By the way just so you are aware this country has three very deeply rooted political houses, they often times conflict, and argue with each other, it can get pretty violent, and they sometimes even send assassins after each other. The three houses are the House of Wings, the House of Blood, and the House of Fangs.” (Claire)

Damn, that sounds really troublesome, it seems like taking a side will be dangerous, so I should try and stay out of politics.

“Do you belong to any of the political houses?” (Chandler)

“Me personally, I try to stay out of it, but my family belongs to the House of Wings.” (Claire)

I see, so she isn’t interested in this worlds politics, I guess I don’t really blame her.

We arrive at the weapons and armor shop.We walk in and there seems to be quite a few weapons and armor pieces on display.

“Welcome to my shop, my name is Tanir, how can I help you two!?” (Tanir)

A loud muscular man wearing worn down clothes, and is bald with a beard calls out to us from behind a counter with a smile. We walk up to Tanir’s counter.

“Which one of you two needs something? Or do both of you need something!?” (Tanir)

He gives hearty laugh after speaking.“We are here for him to get some armor.” (Claire)

She points at me after declaring my need for armor.

“Hmm, very well I’ll need to get him fitted, due to his different build. Let’s go kid I’ll get you some armor.” (Tanir)

The man takes me in the back and fits me for some armor. He brings back some armor that he adjusted for my body.

“I call this one the imperial raider.” (Tanir)

I equip the armor and look in the mirror. It has one large metal shoulder piece on my left shoulder, a medium sized chest piece made of leather, leather pants, metal knee guards, metal forearm protectors, and some leather shoes. This set also doesn’t come with a helmet.I also have a small satchel for items, and a chain necklace to put my adventurer badge on. Now I finally look the part of being an adventurer.

“Hey kid, What do you think?” (Tanir)

“I think I look pretty badass.” (Chandler)

“That’s good to hear!” (Tanir)

I also get a small round shield and short sword to accompany my new armor set.

“That’s gonna be 6 silver.” (Tanir)

“Ok” (Claire)

Claire hands him the money. I got to stop having her pay for me, I have no clue how much money she has. Now that I think about it I should probably learn about this worlds money system at some point.

I put the sword and shield on my back, and we leave the shop, and walk down the streets.

“Now, where to next...” (Claire)

All of the sudden a man with brown hair and glasses, in a priest outfit with protective armor pieces, and a sword on his back approaches Claire.

“Well well, what do we have here, what might a noble looking maiden such as yourself be doing here?” (???)

The priest looking guy gives Claire a creepy smile.

“Huh, who are you.” (Claire)

“I appreciate you asking beautiful. My name is Sebal, and I am one of the capital’s holy knights.” (Sebal)

Holy knight? Is that some sort of a big deal around here, I have a feeling it might be.Sebal puts his hand Claire’s shoulder.

“Come on why doesn’t this maiden, come with this holy knight into that back alley over there, and I can you show you a fun time, I’ll have you purified in this ritual so how about it cutie?” (Sebal)

What a fucking shit bag, this Sebal guy blatantly asks Claire to fuck him in an alley, and acts like I’m not even here! What the hell is holy about this ass hat?!

“Hey, back off of her, you son of a bitch!” (Chandler)

Sebal then looks at me and cringes with a disgusted look.

“Ew, what the hell is the fat pig doing oinking at me, over this tramp, mind your own damn business! You must be a demon spawn in need of purging by a holy knight.” (Sebal)

“Fuck off y-“ (Chandler)

I’m suddenly cut off because I am now in a cracked wall of a building. My vision gets blurry, what the hell even happened?I cough up blood, and more blood runs down my forehead. Damn it, this hurts!

I look over at Sebal, it looks like he hit me with the hilt of his sword. It was so fast I didn’t even see him draw his sword, let alone use it! I look above Sebal and...Holy shit!Above Sebal appears this:

<Sebal, Level 70>

Holy shit I’m really outmatched!This guy is really fucking strong!

“Hahahahaha! What a little bitch, you are only level 3!” (Sebal)

Sebal slowly walks towards me.

“Your still alive, you demonic shit, now your making me finish your worthless existence off!? Now I’m gonna make your death painful!” (Sebal)

I look at my health bar and I’m just barely alive. Shit...He’s actually gonna kill me! I can’t even move! Fuck this Sebal guy!

“PLEASE STOOP!!” (Claire)

Sebal ignores Claire crying out, and instead licks his lips.

“Any slut who sides with a demon spawn is too far from saving, and deserves to be raped! I’m gonna have fun after I kill this fatty!” (Sebal)

Sebal continues to approach me, and points his sword at me. He rubs my left nipple inappropriately, then he raises his sword up in the air and screams.

“Now die, and be purged demon spawn!” (Sebal)

“Sebal stop disgracing yourself and the holy knights!” (???)

A tall and muscular man with a stern voice, long black hair, bushy eyebrows, and a mustache, walks by. He is unarmed, wearing a Japanese martial arts training outfit, and he looks pissed off.

“I walk by and I see such uthonorable evil!” (???)

The man releases a powerful intense aura, it makes me feel heavy! He stares down Sebal with intense eyes, this guy is really hardcore!

Sebal puts his sword away and smiles.

“If the mighty Gentarō, one of the Skywatch Ten, has something to say, then one must simply listen if they wish to live, I will take my leave I know better than to challenge somebody this powerful.” (Sebal)

What?! this Sebal asshole is backing off? Just how powerful is this Gentarō guy? He made this level 70 holy knight back off!

“Now I will be taking my leave, goodbye demon spawn.” (Sebal)

Sebal waves at me then flashes away.How did that shitty knight leave? Did he teleport? Gentarō calms his aura and walks away, what an intense guy! He’s so badass!

“Are you alright?” (Claire)

Claire runs over to me teary eyed. And uses a large potion of vitality she had on me.I slowly recover after a few minutes, And we begin to walk towards the gate.

“Claire, that guy he said he was a holy knight, but there is nothing holy about him. What’s the deal with holy knights?” (Chandler)

Claire sighs.

“This nation, Skywatch has independent adventurers for hire, and it’s army of knights employed by the nation.” (Claire)

“Ok, but what about holy knights?” (Chandler)

“Holy knights are the elite out of the knights, they are said to all be over level 50 and blessed by the church. Holy knights stand out in power from the average knights, and aren’t common there are less than a hundred of them apparently.” (Claire)

That makes a bit of sense, that Sebal asshole was very strong, so that’s probably how he got the job.

“Makes me wonder why assholes like that Sebal guy are in power.” (Chandler)

“This country has a decent amount of corrupt people with power, unfortunately it’s just the way it is.” (Claire)

Damn corruption sure sounds like a troublesome issue.

“What about that Gentarō guy, and something about a Skywatch Ten?” (Chandler)

“The Skywatch Ten is the nations top ten most powerful adventurers and knights, they are all extremely powerful, some look at them as monsters.” (Claire)

Monsters sounds about right! Gentarō seemed like he could effortlessly beat the living shit out of a level 70, just what kind of levels are they?! I wish I was powerful enough to be on the Skywatch Ten.

A homeless person is in the middle of the street yelling about some nonsense.

“Hurry! Evacuate before the demon army comes and wipes us out, it’s the end of the world!” (Homeless man)

People ignore him and keep walking.

I wonder what a normal life here is like, in this world? Getting up every morning and having somewhere to go in this busy city.

“Hey Claire, you seem to be very smart and knowledgeable about things why is that?” (Chandler)

Claire pauses for a moment before answering.

“I guess I can tell you, I’m the first daughter of one of this nations noble families, my full name is Claire Vonstelar.” (Claire)

She’s a noble? I guess that explains why she wasn’t concerned about paying for my expenses, they must not actually be too much for her.

“Then why are you out here as an adventurer, if you are a noble?” (Chandler)

“I have always been fascinated by books and studying, so it only became natural that I would study magic. I wanted to field test my spells and raise my level so I could learn more about the world and it’s magic hands on, that is why I became an adventurer, even though my family did protest a lot to the idea.” (Claire)

So that’s why she seems so smart, she really is amazing I guess.

We get to the gate and leave the city, and begin our walk back to Willows Den.

There seems to be quite a bit to this new world.
