"I don't need saving."

Asahi went silent.

"I never have and never will."

Asahi slammed his fists on the table they were seated at. He wanted to shout at, punch and kick Matsumoto with all his might, but couldn't bring himself to do it. The fact that Matsumoto was now armed with a gun and a sword and had now been labelled as a knight made him  scared to do so.

"Would at least come with us for a while ma'am?" asked Tsuyoko politely.

"And who are you exactly?"

"A…friend… of Asahi."

Matsumoto glared at Asahi, who was sulking with his head down.

"I don't know why you would go through so much trouble to get me back Asahi, but i'm telling you now. Go back to where you came from." She said preparing to leave.

"We're going through so much trouble because we somehow got tagged into your business, and now our lives are literally at stake! Please, just come!” Tsuyoko said, raising her voice.

Matsumoto began to walk away, as if she hadn't heard what Tsuyoko had just said. Asahi got out of his seat and ran towards Matsumoto. He regretted that choice instantly but couldn’t stop himself. Now his life is at stake even more.

“Mastumoto!”

Matsumoto snapped back and punched Asahi in the face. He doubled over and fell to the floor, she gave him a nosebleed. She stared at him in annoyance and walked towards him. She gave him a nasty look before pulling him to his feet by his hair.

“Asahi. I don’t know what’s happened or how you managed to find yourself and that girl here, but you’d best find a way out, for yourselves. I’m not going back, capisce?”

Matsumoto flung him to the side and stormed outside.

A girl the size of tsuyoko followed Matsumoto, she had short blue hair and golden glasses, behind those were crimson red eyes that gave off no sense of threat.

“Matto, was that boy bothering you?” She asked.

“Yeah, kind of, no worries though.” Matsumoto responded.

“Are you absolutely sure? We can execute him, as we do for anyone who hurts the great knight.”

“Whats with this ‘Great Knight’ stuff? I really do not understand it.”

“Its simple Matty! You appeared outta nowhere with all this power and saved us from the snow snake! You’re no less than our saviour!”

Matsumoto took that in, a saviour? She didn’t think of it that way, she considered  considered it for a moment. A saviour to the village (Though she didn’t do that totally on purpose),  and you could say a saviour for sparing Asahi’s life. She kind of was a saviour

The small girl whipped out her notebook and prepares some questions for Matsumoto.

“Hey, Matty?”

“Yes, Eila?”

“If it’s okay to ask, what is your relationship with the guy just there?”

Matsumoto stood still.

“Who’s asking?”

“Me. You seemed like you knew this guy, the way he was addressing you and such, and old friend?”

An old friend?

“I guess you could say that.”

She recalled some moments from their past together.

The time Asahi cut his hair off with scissors in fourth grade, the time him and Junpei did a stunt that dented their fifth grade teacher’s car, the time she and Asahi killed the class pet by feeding it popping candy. They weren’t very good memories obviously, but the were fun to look back at. Then sixth grade. The time her and Asahi fought. Verbally and physically. It was a big think for the class, she remembered it made her blood rumble and boil, disappear into the sky. It still did, they never got to make up. The more she thought about it the more she got irritated, her blood began to boil again, furiously.

“Back when we were younger, he said something. Something that really pisses me off, he did something too, something unforgivable for a person like me. I hate it, what he did. I wanna get him back, ten fold…”

Eila stood and stared at Matsumoto, who was staring at the translucent clouds, clenching her fists. They looked like they were on fire, she looked like she was an inferno or fit and rage, hate and anger. Matsumoto snapped her head back at Eila, a mischievous and toothy grin plastered itself onto her face.

“You know what? Today, its morning now, before the sun sets, bring Asahi along to the stadium, book me a space.”

“Why Matty?”

“Im gonna get him back today, everyone will watch… I’ll get him back good…”

Eila saw the embers that flickered in Matsumoto’s emerald eyes, she was prepared. Prepared to kill.

As stood in the cellar, armed with a wooden sword in front of a shadowy figure. He knew what it was for, he knew it and he dreaded it. He looked at Eila as if she was his saving grace, as if she would get him out of this.

“I wont help you. Please fight my figure, my energy is draining, you don’t have all day.”

A long chain was connecting Eila to the shadow figure.

“Please go on.” Eila said impatiently.

Asahi drew his sword and launched himself at the figure, who was staring at the wall opposite it. Just as Asahi was about to make contact with the figure, and swiftly dodged the attack and punched Asahi in the stomach, launching him into the ceiling above. Asahi fell down to the stone floor with a large thump. It was a miracle he was even awake. He thought he got knocked out cold the moment he made contact. Bodily fluids were running down his face. Not blood or sweat, but things like mucus, saliva and tears were running down onto the floor. Asahi got back up and wiped his face. His sword had got flung to the opposite side of the cellar. His back and stomach were aching, but he had to be strong as if this was only the “training dummy” for Matsumoto, God knows what the real thing was gonna feel like.
