Inducing fear

At a clear tranquil lake, someone stood by the side, observing the unmoving surface of the water.The person was Lan Du, she stood there motionlessly, staring at the water surface.

She wore a mask on her face and didn't speak a word.

Suddenly, there was bubbling at the surface of the water, then a head popped out of the water, gasping for air.He looked around and saw Lan Du's cold gaze.

"Who said you could surface"She said coldly and ruthlessly stomped the head back into the water.

The head immediately sunk back down and din't come back up.After a few more minutes, she held a rock and tossed it into the waters.As soon as she did so, dozens of figures jumped out of the water, gasping for air like there was no tomorrow.

"Only 10 minutes and you are already dying, useless, stand back up, next is close combat training"Lan Du said without sympathy

The group all waddled to their feet and barely kept up with her.They arrived at an empty field but there was stacks on stacks of wooden logs.

"I gathered some logs for today's training"She picked up a large log and stood it up.She then held a shovel and tossed it to them.

"Get digging, I want these logs to be half buried while standing upright, there are exactly 50 logs and everyone digs one, those who finish over half an hour will be visiting the lake again"Lan Du said and pointed back towards the lake.

They all shivered and each picked up a shovel.They began digging at a fast pace and all the logs were planted before half an hour was up.Lan Du also planted one down and now held a wooden dagger in her hands.

"Now that this is done and over with, get a wooden dagger, I'll show you where you must strike"Lan Du smirked and slashed at the log.

A deep scar was left at where she slashed and it was incredibly smooth.Her brute strength scared the group but she didn't stop there, she slashed a total of eight more time, each in a different part of the log.On the final one, she directly jabbed the wooden dagger into the log as if it was tofu.

"Where your weights during this, when you can leave a mark on the log, work on your precision, when you can stab the dagger through the log, then you're set, but no slacking, or I'll send you back to the lake and believe me, you won't be coming back out"She gestured lightly and walked off.

They all trembled under her cold gaze and shrunk back, not daring to say a word in retort.Lan Du only sneered and walked away.

They then turned to one another before swinging at the logs.Lan Du hid afar from them and observed quietly, she nodded in satisfaction before leaving for real.She gripped the wooden dagger in her hand and placed it in her beg.

'Tiring as always, the training always feels so relaxing compared to teaching those idiots'

She headed out the academy and towards the hospital.Every time she has been there, she would meet her father, as if he knew when she would go.This time however, she walked in feeling more relaxed.

'I heard that he was sent on a mission not long ago, he shouldn't be here even if he wanted to'She thought to herself and entered the room her mother was in.

"Mother, when will you wake up?It's all that man's fault"She placed her hand on her mother's hands and her head looked down.Her eyes closed and tears dripped from the side.

"Why does he have to take everything away from me?Someday...someday he will pay for it"Lan Du grit her teeth and said slowly

She then laid her head down on the bed, feeling her warmth which calmed her down.Her mind slowly drifted as she fell soundly asleep.She didn't realise however that there was two people standing behind her.

"Who is she talking about when she said 'he'?"One of them asked

"It can't be colonel Yuan, could it?"The other one stated in shock

They stared at one another

"Colonel Yuan, your daughter must really hate you"

These two were commander Wang Liu and Wang Shu.They were sent by Yuan Min to observe Lan Du, but as they listened, they were shocked by Lan Du's words.

"s-should we remove her mask?"Wang Liu asked

"I'm very curious, would colonel Yuan blame us if we sent him what she looks like?"Wang Shu replied

They slowly approached Lan Du and reached out their heands, preparing to remove her mask.But it was then when Lan Du's eyes shot open, she held a wooden dagger in her hand and jabbed it towards them.

Wang Shu was shocked since it came towards him so he raised his hand and fended the blow off with ease.Lan Du clicked her tongue and shot something out her sleeves.

Wang Shu who caught the dagger was then struck by the needles that came out and made a pained expression.But it was suppressed soonw hen he used his spiritual strength to force out the poison applied to the needles.

He grabbed Lan Du's wrist and held her up.

"Even if you're colonel Yuan's daughter, your actions were dangerous"He said angrily

Wang Liu stood beside him, staring at Lan Du's mask, curious as to what she looked like below.Lan Du struggled but couldn't get out of his grip.

Lan Du frowned, being helpless in this situation, she could only wait to see how things turned out.Wang Shu reached out his hand, preparing to take off her mask.Lan Du suddenly shouted

"Two strangers broke into the hospital and is now trying to kidnap a child!Human traffickers!Help!"She shouted at the top of her lungs

Wang Liu and Wang Shu were stunned, they stared at Lan Du and saw that behind her mask, her eyes were filled with mockery.

They then heard footsteps and the door opened, doctors and nurses saw Lan Du being held by someone by the wrist and seemed helpless.

"Let that child go!How bold of you to kidnap kids here!"The doctor roared

Wang Shu quickly let go of Lan Du and ran for the window, Wang Liu did the same, however, Lan Du grabbed onto his wrist.

"Bad man!You tried to hurt my mother while she's unconscious, yet you want to run!"She shouted with words full of grievence

Wang Liu was stunned, he then heard a silent 'heh' from Lan Du, but it was covered by the shouts of the doctors and nurses.They ran up and all grabbed Wang Liu.

"Stay put and wait for the police!"A doctor shouted

"Don't even think about leaving here unpunished!"Shouted a nurse
Wang Shu was now hesitating whether he should leave or not, if he does, his brother might actually have to stay behind.But in this moment of hesitation, Lan Du shot something at his neck.

He suddenly felt his head feel light so he quickly tried to use spiritual strength to block it out, unfortunately, Lan Du ran up to him and punched him square on the face.

She grabbed him by the hair and raised her fists again

"Bad man!This is what you get for trying to harm y other!"Lan Du shouted, but she leaned closer and whispered into his ears

"What do you feel?Regret?Anger?Embarrassment?Whatever negative emotion you feel, it only makes me happier, next time my father sends you two, I'll prepare some more fun things, also...thank you for your fingerprint"Lan Du smirked and punched him again

"Child, you don't need to hit him anymore"A doctor ran up and said

Wang Liu could actually escape with ease, but when he saw that Wang Shu was knocked out by some sort of drug from Lan Du, he gave up struggling since Wang Shu was in her hands now.He knew how crafty Lan Du can be, so it won't be out of the question if she threatens him.

'That lass...even if we were careful about the surrounding and didn't want to hurt her, being able to knock out Wang Shu...she is a demoness'Wang Liu thought to himself and sighed.

Lan Du had an aggrieved expression as she stood back and sniffled.She then stared at Wang 

Lu who was currently being tied up.

"I-I want to speak to him alone"She said

The doctor's expression changed drastically

"How can we allow this?They are dangerous people, we can't leave you with them"He said in worry

Lan Du frowned, she then walked over to Wang Liu

"I'll let you two off for now, be glad there are people watching or I might just have ripped off a few parts of your body"Lan Du said coldly, she then secretly cut the rope and fell backwards

"ah!"She called out

Wang Liu realised that she created this chance for him, so he quickly grabbed Wang Shu and jumped out the window.

His body glided through the air as if a force was acting upon him.

'So spiritual strength could also be used like this...interesting'Lan Du smiled

The doctors didn't even have time to register what has happened, they ran up to Lan Du in shock

"Child, are you alright?You didn't get hurt, did you?"

Lan Du shook her head

"I'm fine, they just pushed me"She replied and walked out the room

Wang Liu was currently a long distance away with Wang Shu over his back.

'Colonel Yuan...how did you give birth to this demoness?We are regarded as heroes by humanity, yet in front of her, we are treated like thugs, demoness, she must be a demoness'

Wang Shu's eyelids trembled

"Why the hell does my head hurt so badly?Urgh, what happened to Colonel's daughter?"

"She...played us like a fiddle"Wang Liu replied hesitantly

Wang Shu frowned

"Are we sure that Colonel Yuan is her biological father?Although he is strict and likes to use us as punching bags, compared to her...he is like a child in this aspect"Wang Shu muttered

Wang Liu nodded in agreement.

Lan Du currently was heading back to the academy, she removed her mask and went straight to the training ground where she had set up the logsearlier.

When she arrived, she saw that the seniors were still training there, they were sweating intensely under the hot sun but their eyes were filled with determination.Lan Du smiled and sat at the side watching.

'They're getting better, but until they can hold a few minutes against me one on one, they will be hopeless'Lan Du leaned against the tree and crossed her arms before closing her eyes.The sound of wooden swords against logs was all she heard the whole time.

After an hour, she found out she fell asleep by the side, when she opened her eyes, she saw that the seniors were no longer training, they were resting their bodies as they ate happily.Lan Du didn't intrude and sat there, she fiddled with a wooden dagger in her hand as she watched them.

"That junior has been there for a while, he was sleeping there not long ago"A senior said slowly

"He is probably just resting, the academy training isn't easy after all"Another one replied

"Haha, compared to boss Du's training, hwt can the academy training mount to?"Someone laughed when hey heard that, the rest then also began laughing.

Lan Du stopped fiddling with her dagger

"They seem to be doing fine, I should leave now"She stood up and walked away, but she was stopped by two people.

"Kid, you're the one who put my brother in hospital, aren't you"One of them said

Lan Du stared at him emotionlessly

"Gotta be much more specific, I sent around 20 people to the hospital, how would I know who your brother is?"She replied thoughtlessly

The young man clenched his fists and threw a punch towards Lan Du.Lan Du sneered and was about to take action when a hand came from behind her and grabbed the incoming fist.

"Picking o our junior right in front of us, are you looking for death!"One of the senior that was resting came over and helped Lan Du.

The rest soon came over as well, the two stepped back and grit their teeth

"Using numbers to win, are you all wimps!"One of them shouted

The seniors looked at one another before frowning, but a laughter covered the area.They turned to see Lan Du laughing as she held her stomach.

"This is hilarious!You of all people are talking about number advantage!Hahahaha!I remember now!Your brother was the brat that couldn't even take a single punch from me, in the end he went crying to his friends behind him, but what a pity, they were so pathetic, even outnumbering me 1 to 20, a dreg will forever be a dreg"Lan Du smirked and walked over

"Number advantage?Who gives a crap, even if you both come at me, I'll still send you to the hospital like the previous 20 brats"Lan DU clenched his cheeks and her eyes were filled with mockery

"Do you resent me?Scared?Or do you think I'm crazy?Whatever you think...you'll be having a close relationship with the ground, and trust me, your relationship will be intimate"Lan Du said with a cold smile on her face

The young man shuddered, he threw out a punch at Lan Du, but Lan D countered by grabbing his incoming fist and flipping his entire body over her shoulders.

She continued to hold onto that arm and placed her feet on his back.

"I've always wonder, how far can a human arm be twisted before it goes snap?"She said sadistically and pressed her feet down.

Much less the young man's companion, even the seniors shuddered in front of Lan Du.They didn't dare say a thing in front of her, nor did they dare to interfere.

The young man felt his arm twist back as the pressure on his back increase.His eyes turned over and he lost consciousness.When Lan Du noticed this, she dropped him to the ground and patted her hand.

"Useless, fainting from this, pathetic"She scowled and turned to the young man's companion..

"Oh, you're still here, I expected you to run by now, hm, did you pee yourself?Damn, you ruined the mood"Lan DU cursed and turned around

"Peeing himself, useless, ruined a good thing, I'm leaving"

The young man dropped to the ground as a stench drifted through the air.The seniors couldn't react, was that really a junior?Even they felt scared watching her cruel actions.Fear rose in their hearts as they watched the leaving figure.
