Chapter 1:

Our Successful Escape!

Journey of the Two

Winter was about to begin. There was nothing wrong with life. More happy days arrived, and more days passed.

Hi, I'm Aria, an ordinary teenager. I was living pretty normally, I guess? So, here's the thing. I was residing in my house with my parents and a young brother, Leo. One day, my parents were leaving on a business trip, which was very important for my father. It will change our lives if the business project goes successfully. They had to leave us. My mom was quite worried for us. Dad called his sister, Aunt Chloe, to take care of us for them. She was a beauty! I was very fond of her and used to her since I was a little child. But, there was one problem with her. What had happened to her? I want to know! Do you too? Let's see!

She was not a patient person. She would suddenly lose her temper out of nowhere. And most importantly, she now hates my brother and me. But, she turned up. My mom was relieved to see her sister-in-law. Now, she can leave without worries. No, what about us? How will we be able to live with this nightmare? Don't abandon us, mom, dad.

Oh, but we had to put up with CHLOE! Ah, just thinking about it makes me want to run away. Life went well for a few days, but those peaceful days had yet to disappear. Once a fine morning, my aunt woke up and demanded breakfast from me. She wasn't in the mood.

And well, if she doesn't have breakfast, you know what can happen, don't you?

I hurried to the kitchen and began to cook breakfast for her. While I was cooking, Leo showed up. There he was, watching me, blood running down his face, hurt in the forehead. I had pretty well figured out who was responsible. It was the children next door and also acquainted with my Aunt Chloe. I got pumped up and decided to go after the kids. But out of the blue, I was overwhelmed by a grasp. It was my aunt, Chloé. She asked, where's the breakfast? I held her hand and threw it in a sudden jerk. I scolded the kids and told them off to their parents. Hah, how relaxing it was to vent your anger on someone. Now, I can tend to my brother's wound. As I was cleansing his wound, I asked him; Are you okay? Do you want to leave? He nodded his heading, Yes!

In the next second, we were preparing to leave. It was already midnight. We had decided to go at the break of dawn. Leo was taking a little nap. I was collecting some of my savings and jewelry. And a photo of my parents.

At daybreak, we started making our move.

Let me tell you a secret!

Do you waant to know?

My aunt was not the problem. She is used to waking up at midday.

We got out of the bedroom. Thankfully, our bedroom was downstairs. Otherwise, that would have been an issue, as we were tiptoeing to the main door. Our breathing became heavier and shrouded in more fog. Nothing mattered as long as we got out successfully. We were as happy as larks.
