The long lasting dream

Anna, George and Vladmir were in some sort of locker room, they had just arrived of a mission, and were taking off their ARC suits.
"Peace controlled successfully" George commented.
"Don't say like that, it is weird" Anna replied with an awkward expression.
"Why? Is literally the name of our missions, Peace Control"
"Yeah, but it sounds like... too many people die for us to call peace"
"Only the people who bothers the system, well deserved"
"But no one should deserve to die right?" Rafael arrived at the door "You guys will take how much time? I'm Hungry"
Vladmir was smoking a cigarette, he had not took off his suit, he noticed that a few soldiers were waiting outside of the locker room, all officials.
"Uhh... you guys can go first" George said, he was still with the ARC.
"How can you take so long to take it off, wait, you didn't even started taking it off" Anna complained.
"There is something bothering me inside the suit, but don't worry"
"Idiot" Anna sighed, and then, Rafael and her left.

"You can go too if you want, sarge"
"no, I can smoke here without their complaint"
"But with the ARC?"
"Why? You have a problem?"
"No, not at all, it is just that they are not the most comfortable things to wear"
Both of them looked at the door, the six soldiers were still waiting for something on the other room.
"I think they want to talk to you, Sarge"
"Out of debt, out of danger"
"Perhaps we did something wrong at the mission"
"I wish I could believe that"
"Looks like I underestimated you, Sarge"
"So did I"
At this moment, George took his gun, but before he could aim, Vladmir quickly approached, hitting the handgun, which fell on the floor. Vladmir punched George, he almost fell on the ground with the strength of the ARC's punch, Vladmir went for another one, but George evaded, grabbed him and threw Vladmir to the wall. The soldiers heard the fight, and entered the locker room pointing their guns.
"Private George Klyman, surrender now"
George turned himself to the six men, he had an ARC, but they were all armed, he was thinking how to escape. In that brief moment, Vladmir rapidly got up and jumped on George by his back, and immobilized him.
"You turned your back on me, then you really underestimated me"

"General, They arrested Klyman" Ian reported.
"Good, keep monitoring all of the eight power receptors" Astrea said while leaving the command center "Tanya, with me"
"Yes ma'am" Tanya quickly replied while getting out of her chair "You guys behaviour while I'm out"
"Decided to become a clown now?" David complained.
"I just have saved the city, I can do whatever I want" Tanya left showing her tongue.

George was in a cell, just sitting, doing nothing. Astrea and Tanya arrived.
"Klyman, It was quite a impressive work you did here, you avoided most of the cameras, befriended with almost everyone, perfectly blended with us, you truly did not raise any suspicion" Astrea said.
"Also easily hacked our servers and put the blame on others, you are a hell of a spy" Tanya complemented.
George didn't reply.
"I'm here to make a deal with you, we know you sent the city's power grid, tell me which of the power receptors are their target, and join us. It would definitely come in hand someone with your skills, you would have an excellent caree-"
"You know what? General. You trying to act all calm does not worry me, I know you can't protect all of the stations, you need my help" George calmly said.
"We know you sent the defense protocols and codes, but we already chan-"
"I know what I have sent" George interrupted Tanya "Feel free to try stop them"
"So you also know that you will probably die as well if they succeed, right?"
"Totally worth it"
"Why?" Rafael's voice appeared from nowhere.
"Corporal, what are you doing" Rafael and Anna approached the cell "I did not allowed you to inter-"
"Anh... General we have problems" Tanya called her attention "Ian just reported that the defenses system of all the power receptors went offline"
"WHAT?" I thought you have dealt with this"
"So did I, bu-"
George stood up and started laughing "You guys are too late, this city will crumble, and only us who lived in the underground will survive"
"Tsk, mobilize every single unit, including the Fenix squad" Astrea ordered "None of those stations can fall"
"All the Fenix?? Bu-"
"DO IT" Astrea shouted

Astrea and Tanya went back running to the command center, only Rafael and Anna stayed with George.
"You didn't answered me" Rafael still wasn't believing what he was seeing.
"C'mon, at this point you still doesn't understand?" George sighed "Well, someone like you would never understand"
"Then explain why" Anna requested.
"EXPLAIN THE OBVIOUS?!" George shouted.
Rafael and Anna got scared, and remained quiet.
"You guys don't know what is to live on the outskirts of Promise, sectors forty eight and above. People working until they die only to buy food and water, like, there is not enough for everyone, so the ones with more money get to eat. But this the worst part, NO IT IS NOT" George was angrily talking "The worst is the whole sector blacking out because these idiots needs to power a fucking mecha, or you think that it is easy to make a fifteen meter mecha to move?" George leaned on the wall and sat on the floor, almost crying "They froze people to death only to corroborate with their made up story. The only monsters who exists are on the government, and we will kill them all"

They remained in silence for a moment.
"And what about your family? Didn't you said that they got in-"
"What family Anna? My mom died trying to warm me, and my dad was murdered when he reacted an assault, he was carrying breads, coming back home"
"But-"
"There is no 'but' Rafael, get out of here and use your military family talent to protect this scumbags"
They stood there, thinking of what to talk.
"GET OUT! I don't want to see your faces anymore"
And they left, without saying a single word.

They reached the recreation room, it was completely empty, everyone was out to protect the power receptors. They sat on a couch, in total silence.
"Shouldn't we go to too?" Anna finally said something.
"I don't care what they say, I'm not going anywhere"
"I see..."
Again, silence, Rafael was staring at the roof, and Anna was playing with her jacket zipper. After a while, Anna spoke again.
"What are power receptors?"
Rafael took a moment to answer, but then replied "Most of the power of the city is generated out of here. The power receptors are huge electrical stations that connects the power plants to Promise"
"Oh, now I get why they are so concerned" She stopped for a moment "How do we produce energy out there?"
"The automated power plants transform seismic energy into electricity"
"Whoa, It is ama-"
"I don't mean to offend, but can we be quiet for now?"
"Okay..." Anna did not talk anymore.

"Ulysses, we received the signal of our spy and everyone is ready, at your command" Stewart said, but he was a little nervous.
"Good, we will throw them everything we have, this city will be ours" For the first time, Ulysses was excited "We are making history, my friend"
"But sir, if you excuse me, how are you so sure we will win? Like, we are risking everything, and even after we domain the station, it will still be hard for us to thrive"
"Fear not, Stewart, we will attack them off guard, and if, by some miracle, we do not be able to control the station, we can destroy it, the effects will be quite the same"
They were looking countless destroyers, all active, with their pilots only waiting for orders.
"And our victory is inevitable" Then, Ulysses raised his voice "Listen my comrades, finally, after months of preparations, we are here, at last. Our so long dreamed revolution is within our grasp and we shall wait no longer. TODAY WE END THIS TYRANNY AND AVENGE EVERYONE WE LOST"
All the people at the cave celebrated, with great excitement.
"Forward into battle" And all destroyers started rapidly move through the tunnel.
