After the day Soya and Aja were killed, we were transferred into cells, they kept us caged, unaware of the things going outside after the incident.

The next morning, they opened the cell gates and a few guards entered, escorting us outside the building. The only thing stopping us from breaking through was a few security guards, we could’ve easily broken through but we still had no idea of where Gravast was. They transferred us into a van and took us somewhere. Xiba and I looked at each other and agreed to keep calm for the moment and comply with them.

We were summoned before an assembly, still unknown about what was happening. It looked like we were in a courtroom, it was big and everyone was around us in a semicircle, from down to above there were five tiers of seating. We were taught about courtrooms in our schools, everyone sitting above was of the higher command or held more power compared to the ones sitting in the lower area. One hundred twenty (120) people were chosen for the court jury, there was a judge but his decisions weren’t considered solely unless the jury agrees. This was done to stop corruption as many people were bribing the judge to do their bidding. A jury of one-twenty can’t be bribed or influenced so easily as compared to one person.

Were we here to get pushed for what we had done? I am pretty much sure we are innocent and they have no evidence proving it otherwise, I thought.

“Hey, Ed, got any idea why we are summoned here?” Xiba asked.

“Guess Dan is trying to blame us for his doings,” I replied.

“What?! We should do something before he arrives then.” Xiba was too concerned about the situation as she didn’t want to get another thing, which she had no involvement in, get attached to her name.

“Don’t worry, let’s just stay calm and see what will happen. We should not do anything which may raise suspicion about us,” I suggested to Xiba as everyone was looking at us.

“All rise.” Announced a Bailiff. A man with brown hair entered the courtroom, he was probably the judge. Everyone was silent after he entered the room.

I noticed, as I was looking toward the area where the judge was sitting, that Dan was sitting below him. It was a shock to me that he was one of the jury members, him being a jury member can easily influence others as he can have more votes of trust than us.

“Who do we have here? Asked the judge.

“Ahem-ahem, your honour, today I Dan Vetez of the jury have a special case of an appeal for you, and a request for the jury. To approve our only bio soldier, Edra and with him is his partner Xiba who helped us protect the city, from the events that took place recently in the city of Jahan.”

“We want you all to acknowledge our efforts in Hope’s engineering and medical division and grant us access to the military and help us conduct more experiments using the government allowances.”

What the heck is Dan talking about? Is he gone nuts? I was confused about what he was saying and more confused about his appeal.

“So, Edra. You are the one who saved our city?”

What the heck!

“Answer Edra,” said Dan.

“What are you guys talking about? Dan was the one who attacked the city, he was the one who planned this all and now he is saying, it’s because of his experiments that we were saved? All lies!” I revealed all the information.

“What are you saying? He is one of our honest jury members and he has been for the last five years. You know that your actions and false accusations could get you in trouble young man.” The judge wasn’t believing any of my words.

“I am sorry your honour, I have submitted a report to you, you may take a look at it. Edra was almost about to die, but because of Hope’s technology, he was saved. He was reincarnated into a new man, who will serve us through his strength to become the greatest nation of all. Imagine if we did this to a healthy person, what could happen? What greater heights could we achieve?” The more Dan was speaking, the more the whole courtroom was turning in his favour. He had numbers and evidence backing his decisions and everything that happened until now.

There was no point in keeping up with him. “Dan!!! You pathetic shit! I will not let this slip away.” I screamed.

“Before anything, we have someone else who we need to pay attention to first, Gravast. He is a terrorist who worked in the underground and is part of their uprising against us and the system. I have footage of him from yesterday showing how he violently murdered everyone.” Dan showed some footage of Gravast near the blasts and attack locations, which raised the suspicion that he was also part of it, but in reality, he was there with us to protect them.

He also showed our footage from two months ago from the north, showing us fighting the military robots and protecting civilians.

“Edra and Xiba will be honoured to the highest ranks of our soldier units and will keep on working with Hope, and funds will be provided to Hope’s experiment faculty to continue the research. Gravast will be executed as per the law, and any information related to him and his party must be revealed to the public to clear Hope’s name as falsely accused.” The judge passed his judgement with the agreement of the jury except for one vote in opposition, which they discarded as it was too low of a number to be considered for further discussion.

I couldn't believe what was happening before us, everything was falling, and all I could see was corruption and screams. Whose fault, was it? What was I supposed to do? What happened to my promise to Xiba? How will she be set free of this cruelty? There were just questions but no answers.

It’s now or never, I thought. I tapped Xiba’s shoulder and smiled for the last time I wanted it to end as soon as possible. Everything around me seemed to be moving slow, I turned myself toward Dan, I was facing Dan. I smirked and glared into his eyes. It was a message that I was about to let loose.

“Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!” I kept screaming, my mind went blank and I could see nothing but Dan, he was my prey, he was my goal.

“You, will, pay!!!” I was so loud that everyone around me was covering their ears. I was transforming again, but this time, my whole body was transformed, into a beastly form. I was feeling too powerful, I jumped near Dan, he seemed unaverred, it didn’t seem to worry him. I punched but he tried blocking, little did he know that I wasn’t the same anymore.

I crushed his exoskeleton and his arm in one hit. “tch, ahhhhh!!!” He screamed.

“What the heck do you want?!” He screamed.

“What?!” My face was covered and I was fully evolved into a giant beast.

I picked him up and smashed him again to the ground as hard as I could, his exoskeleton was getting destroyed as I was repeatedly smacking him to the ground. “Rezveel zha trueth,” I screamed again.

“R-Reveal the truth? It is the truth! Everyone he has gone crazy, call the security and milita-”

I picked him up by his skull, everyone around me was terrified. “Haaa!!! Leave me!!!”

I ripped his arm from his shoulder, there was blood everywhere.

“Ahh!!!,” Dan screamed in pain.

I grabbed his other hand and repeated, “Reveazl zha thruth.”

I ripped his hand right after saying that.

Okayyyy!!! Wait! I will reveal everything but not until you know everything, it wasn’t I who started all this, the state secretary who is present on the jury as well, he funded all the money we needed to run the experiment behind the scenes.

I grabbed his arm again and crushed it in my hand. “Gyahhh!!!” He was again screaming in agony.

“chell zham the thruth, or die!!!” I moved my head closer to his and grabbed his skull in my hand.

He was crying because of the pain he was feeling, but moreover, he was crying with terror, fear of death was his weakness. He was vulnerable now and started showing his true colours. He started revealing everything to the jury.

“Yes, I was indeed behind this all but-but, the judge is involved as well. This was his idea all along to benefit from the money we would’ve received because of the grants and military deals. He was the one who gave me access to military robots and also the robots that attacked in the north. I wasn’t alone in this, If-If I am going down, I am going down wit-” Before he could finish his speech, I threw him toward the judge.

Then I jumped towards them as well, I grabbed both of them and threw them both to the podium below. I sat on the chair of the judge and took deep breaths. Everyone knew now what was the reality and what was happening behind the scenes. The jury member who was in our favour investigated further and found out other secrets of Hope. Many people from The Bio-Switch helped in further revealing the truth. Every Hope facility was closed shut after that, and most of the corrupt jury was arrested.

I was still somehow alive.

I didn’t know who I was. I tried recalling everything but couldn’t grasp anything. The only thing I remembered was Xiba, was it a name, a person or an object? I didn’t know until I met her.

There was a knock on the door, I had just woken up from a long slumber. Who could it be? I thought.

I grabbed my long sleeve tee and wore it as I was walking toward the door. I was given this apartment by the government and they were helping me understand through medical treatments. I was trying to find who I was.

I reached the door, I opened it.

“Hi, my name is Xiba, I am here to help you recover-” She was going on and on about some details, but I felt something from her, was she the one I thought about for the past few days since I woke up? I was in tears.

“Xiba, is that you? I asked. You are Xiba, my partner, right? I-I was soo confused, I kept searching for you, whe-where were you?”

I hugged her tightly, “please help me Xiba, I don’t know who I am, please help me become me again, help me understand who I am.”

“She put her arms across my head and replied, “that’s what I am here for.”
