The lunch

On Sunday, Cara was getting out of church, the one place she was allowed to go to. It was a very peaceful place for her. Everybody there was so nice. The sermon today was really blessed and she felt super calm. She forgot all about her miserable life probably because she found some peace in the word of God. 

Someone texted her. 

'Wanna go for lunch?' he texted. 

'I can't' she replied. 

'Come on Cara' he texted. 

'No Yuri. I can't' she replied. 

'I'm at Starbucks. Meet me there and I'll take us to some restaurant' he texted. 

'I told you. I can't' she replied. 

'Are you that scared of your family? They won't kill you. Ok? Get here fast' he texted. 

With that he went offline.

She had no other choice but to meet him there. So she drove to the Starbucks he told her to and then they went to a restaurant.

"Order whatever you want," Yuri told her. 

"I know," she said, smiling.

After that, they went silent and their order came after a while. 

"This is good," he said. 

"Yeah," she said, agreeing with him. 

"So, are you excited about working with us?," he asked. 

"Kind of," she replied. 

"Kind of?," he asked. 

"The change of workplace would be good because I need it. But still I dunno why I'm not excited, probably because of Mel," she said. 

"Melissa?!," he asked. 

"They're gonna marry her off to somebody, I think," she said. 

"What?! Without her will?," he asked. 

"Yeah. Nobody has a say in our household," she told him. 

"I hate your family, you know," he said, "Do you know your Dad and my Mom were high school sweethearts?".

"What? No way! That man can never love somebody," she said. 

"I dunno what happened. I think they broke up later on and then started their business life," he said. 

Just then, some guys entered the place. With them was the one and only, Jason Pratt!

Cara hid under the table thinking about the consequences of getting found out by him. Yuri pretended that no one was there. He hid Cara's bag behind his back and wiped out all evidence that she was there. Then he started using his phone.

Jason sat to the table next to them. Which meant that Cara had to get out very carefully. 

Jason started to read the menu. This gave her a chance to move and get out of there. 

She beckoned Yuri to move. So he got up and went outside, leaving Cara inside to get out of under the table and then get out of the restaurant.
