How the cookie crumbles

Phil stared at Lan Du, his expression stiffened as he laughed awkwardly. He looked around and leaned down to whisper into her ears.

"Truth be told, I sneaked out on my own, my father doesn't know, but I've always wanted to visit Earth, but father never allowed me out of the planet" He said

Lan Du nodded her head

"Since that is the case, would you like me to take you around after I finish with my business, I have some connections in Japan so I can take you to places regular tourist can't go" Lan Du let out a light smile and said.

'Having a good relationship with a planet lord will benefit me in the long run, as long as I please his kid, it shouldn't be too hard'

Phil's eyes lit up

"Really?" He took the seat beside Lan Du and wore an excited expression

Lan Du nodded, Hyke who sat behind them was confused as ever. He wanted to ask but couldn't find the right time to speak. Lan Du's conversation with Phil lasted a while, even after the plane took off, they were talking up a storm.

"what do you do for a living? You must have a great background to board this plane" Phil asked

"I'm just a researcher, recently, some insects got into the lab so I'm going to clear them out" Lan Du chuckled and said.

Phil seemed confused

"Insects? Why do you have to go personally for some insects?" He asked as he tilted his head in confusion

Lan Du smiled and placed a finger on her lips

"Some people in my facility calls them rivalling businesses, but I consider them nothing but bugs, annoying me on a daily basis"

Phil laughed

"You're funny"

The flight didn't take long, in just a few hours, they were able to reach Japan. Lan Du turned back her head and saw Hyke sleeping soundly so she raised one hand and chopped downwards on his head. Hyke's eyes shot open and grabbed her hand before it landed on his head.

After seeing that it was Lan Du, he let out a sigh of relief and stood up

"Isaac, you scared me, I thought we were under attack" he muttered

"If we were under attack, I'd have shot your leg to wake you up, I don't have so much sweet time to smack you in that situation" Lan Du replied casually

Hyke smiled

"You never change, cruel as ever, but that decisiveness is the reason I place so much trust in you"

Lan Du left with Phil following closely beside her. When they stepped out, Phil's eyes lit up so much that he could even light up a path in the dark. As the son of a planet lord he was never allowed to leave his planet, but now, he could see it all.

The strange buildings that seem ancient, yet they brought a unique charm to him. He looked around, the smell of food also caught his attention. Lan Du took notice, she tossed a card over to Hyke.

"Go buy some traditional food, one of each" She said

Phil glanced at her

"What language is that? I didn't study much" He asked

Lan Du smiled

"Japanese, I work here so I naturally must know the language" Lan Du led Phil to a small bench and sat down

"I had my friend go buy some food, after he comes, you can eat on the way" Lan Du said gently

Phil's eye slit up in excitement, his hand was trembling slightly as a smile rose to his face without his notice. He has a handsome face, if not for his childish actions, Lan Du might have seen him as a playboy.

Soon, Hyke came back with bags of food, he passed them to Lan Du and gave a drink to Phil whilst wearing a gentle smile.

"Thank you" Phil said

Not knowing what he said, Hyke just nodded his head

"Eat up, when you finish, you can ask for more, if there is something you like, I can buy more for you" Lan Du said calmly as she passed over a plate of takoyaki.

Phil grabbed the plate with a fascinated gaze, he poked a toothpick into one and lifted it up. The smell was tempting and alluring as he opened his mouth and bit down.

The heat and taste burst out in his mouth, he huffed as the food was burning hot but he wore a satisfied expression.

"It isn't like any food I have had, it has a unique taste" He exclaimed

Lan Du nodded

"Take your time, there's plenty" She said and glanced at Hyke

"When will he arrive?" She asked

Hyke glanced at his watch

"In a few minutes" He replied

Lan Du nodded, as time passed, she saw a black car stop by. It was large and had many seats within, there was even a small table inside with cup holders.

"Get on, it's easier to eat inside" She said to Phil

Phil nodded and followed her onto the car, Hyke sat down at the front and glanced at Lan Du.

'He treats him so nice, is that what power can do to people?'

Phil was seated as he enjoyed the food Lan Du passed over to him. He was so focused on eating that he didn't even know where they were going. They stopped outside a large laboratory, Lan Du stepped out of the car with Hyke and Phil, the car then drove off, disappearing into the distance.

"Phil, for the next hour or so, just follow me, I'll be making a call to someone, I have more food if you want" Lan Du said lightly

Phil nodded his head, he was fascinated by the facility. Lan Du walked over and scanned a black card on the side. It beeped once and the door opened. They walked in, the inside had many security cameras and alarms.

They stopped outside a room and Lan Du entered. It was a bedroom, to be exact, it was Lan Du's bedroom. She has used this years ago when she worked here for some time.

"Sit down and relax, I'm going to show you how I do business" Lan Du smiled.

At the front of the room was a large screen, even bigger than the door. Lan Du picked up a remote and sat down as she switched on the device.

She then typed in some codes, the screen then flashed and a man's face appeared. He had a nonchalant but arrogant expression as he looked around the room. When he saw Lan Du, his eyes grew fierce.

"If it isn't Isaac, how are you? Did you receive my gift to you?" He smirked and asked

Lan Du smiled

"Of course, how could I not know when your company is too pathetic to create your own projects because of how useless your workers are, in which leading to you stealing my project due to how useless you are as a manager, did I miss anything?" Lan Di wore a bright smile as she spoke.

The man's forehead was bulging with veins as he glared at her, he took in a deep breath and smirked

"So what if I stole it from you, in the end, it is I that wins, no matter the steps it takes" He said proudly

Lan Du snickered

"Yes yes, a dog begging for food finally got its wish, are you so happy to steal one of my many projects? You make me feel embarrassed for having you as a competitor" Lan Du giggled, but her eyes were cold.

The man snorted

"No matter how sharp your tongue is, it won't do you any good, give it up, I won't be angered by you" He growled

Lan Du laughed

"You flatter yourself, if I wanted to make you angry, I'd have kidnapped your son and stripped him in public" Lan Du said jokingly

The man trembled

"How dare you mention that! You have already done that to my first son, he is now unwilling to even leave his room!" He roared

Lan Du snickered

"Oh, that's right, I indeed already did that, maybe I'll castrate him in public next time instead" Lan Du's mischievous smile made the man furious.

"Enough! You better watch yourself, for when I publicise your project, it is I who will win" He shouted and ended the call.

Lan Du's smile disappeared

"He's easy to read as always, get me file 143, he should publicise experiment 12 in about 5 hours, the moment he does that, make file 143 public and prepare another call, because he will be calling us soon after we post them" Lan Du said calmly

Phil had a confused expression, but he knew that Lan Du had angered the other party to the point of raging. He found it funny just thinking back on the man's face.

Hyke nodded and did as Lan Du said, though he wanted to know how Lan Du can accurately determine when the man publicises their project. But despite his curiosity, he didn't once doubt Lan Du's words.

"Who was that man?" Phil asked curiously

"The man who stole something from me, but I'll be taking everything back soon" Lan Du had a dark smile on her face as she spoke.

Phil found her smile intriguing, he wasn't afraid of it. The more he stares at it, the more curious he found Lan Du to be. Five hours passed, and as Lan Du had said, the man had publicised the experiment. Experiment 12 was one of Lan Du's most treasured experiments, it was a testing of the circulation of spiritual strength within a human's body.

She was able to discover specific routes that the spiritual strength can travel through within the body, though she didn't find it all, it was enough to become a factor that changes humanity's strength. Her eyes were cold as she sat on her bed.

"Are the files posted" She asked

Hyke nodded his head

"Yes, as you said, we sent out the files to every major social groups, but Isaac, what is contained in the files?" He asked curiously.

Lan Du smiled coldly

"You will see in due time"

Currently, the man who Lan Du called was laughing as his company slowly grew more and more popular by the second. He sat in his chair with a gleeful look on his face, he just stared at other companies contacted him via messages for cooperation.

Suddenly, a man ran through the office door

"Sir! A video has been trending, i-it's affecting our company's reputation and the companies that previously asked for a cooperation are now all withdrawing!" He shouted

"What! Show me the video!" He roared

The man nodded and placed a tablet in front of him. The scene was very familiar to the man, it was the very conversation he had with Lan Du 5 hours ago! His expression dropped.

The man began to panic, but as he watched, something else unfolded. It was Lan Du smiling as she stared at the camera.

"My dear viewers, I am Isaac, what you just saw must have been quite surprising, but ah, you must be wondering who that man was, well, let me introduce him for you" Lan Du clasped her hands together and said with a gentle smile.

She took out a small device and a projection appeared. There were thirteen women shown on the projection.

"He is called William Hutch, since I'm a kind man, I'll give you all a thorough introduction, here, you will see thirteen ladies, each are women he slept with, next, is my favourite" Lan Du tapped the device and the images changed

"If you take a good look here, William's time taken for him to release his pent up lust" Lan Du chuckled as a timer appeared and a video of William started to play.

It was him with one of the previous women, the timer ticked and even before 1 minute, it stopped and William wore a satisfied expression on his face as he stood up.

"Oh my, William, should I send you a few doctors to check your lower half? Or maybe an award for being the fastest man alive" Lan Du wore a mocking smile as she said.

By now, William was shaking in anger and rage

She then flicked the projections once again

"Now, let's see William's daily life, shall we?" Lan Du chuckled and another video played.

William was seated in his office, a man walked in with a pile of paper work and placed them on his desk.

"Sir, these are the projects were have worked on, please verify" He said slowly

William glared at him

"Cheh, don't bother, just take a project from another company, they won't be able to give any evidence anyways if we just take all the information from the roots" He snorted and tossed the paperwork aside.

Lan Du in the video now wore a concerned expression

"Ah, such important work and yet you resorted to crime, ah, William oh William, how I feel bad for your workers" Lan Du shook her head and sighed.

The social medias now were soaring, Lan Du's video became the number one search list in Japan. William's face paled as he fell frm his chair.

"No, that's not possible, how did he get hold of our conversation!"

Lan Du in the video giggled

"Now my good buddy William, have fun, also, I would like my project back soon, otherwise, I might need to make a few more videos, I have plenty of material for them" Lan Du smiled and the video ended.

The social medias were now flaming William and his company, they were n a complete uproar.

[That bastard, he actually acts so shamelessly!]

[Scumback of society! People works hard and yet you steal their work!]

[Go die you pig bastard!]

[I wanna skin that man myself, how dare he do this!]

Lan Du chuckled as she watched the comments flow in, her smile grew as she recieved messages from other companies for cooperation. She glanced at Hyke.

"And this...is how the cookie crumbles, those people who says an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth are all idiots, once someone takes your belongings, you kill them socially before tearing any facade they have, once you ripped off their skin, you must peal away their flesh and leave them to bleed until they can no longer support themselves, only then, can you call it revenge" Lan Du smirked as she said with a sadistic look in her eyes.

Hyke was amazed, he nodded and noted her words down into his heart.

"But how did you record our previous conversation? These projectors for calling are designed so they cannot be recorded for political uses" He asked

Lan Du smirked

"I was only told that I cannot use any other devices to record the coversation, but there was never laws stating that I cannot directly alter the projector itself, because the federation is too overconfident in their so called technology" Lan Du clasped her hands and said lightly.

Feeling enlightened, Hyke nodded

"But won't we get into trouble for this?" He asked again

Lan Du smirked

"I now have support from almost half the major suppliers in Japan, the Japanese federation would rather suppress it than offend me"

Seeing Lan Du's cold smile in which expressed deep mockery, Hyke nodded his head and felt slightly relieved. He stepped back and didn't say anything else.

Lan Du then glanced at Phil

"My matters are almost resolved, tomorrow, I'll take you around Japan and you can have more food to eat" Lan Du said lightly

Phil nodded and a smile spread across his face, he looked like a curious child with the playful gaze he had. Having been trapped in his planet for so long, he has always been curious about the mother planet of humanity. But he knew that his father meant the best for him when he trapped him so he didn't complain about it.

Though Phil was playful, he wasn't dumb, he was not completely trusting Lan Du and always had his guard up, especially because he has seen Lan Du's nature.

"Hyke, send regards to William later, if he doesn't return our project by tomorrow, you can send out file 127, it contains more of his missdeeds against other companies" Lan Du said casually and stood up.

Hyke nodded, but he was baffled

"How come you have so much information on William?" He asked

Lan Du chuckled

"William is only one of the many, I hold dirt on almost all the Japanese corporations, the reason why I started by business here is because of the most laid back system they have compared to other countries, I can easily find dirt on their companies without trouble" Lan Du said with a menacing smile, she tossed a phone over after she spoke.

"Contact the Underworld and tell them that project 12 is a success, and use the contribution points given to buy the blood fruit, you can distribute the remaining points amongst yourselves" She said casually "Continue on the remaining projects, I will leave the rest to you, Hyke"

Hyke nodded and saluted as he took the phone she tossed over. Lan Du then left the room with Phil, as she walked out, she was greeted by many workers and researches within the facility. They congradulated her but she wore a cold aloof look on her face.
