Uncovering Mysteries

Kendra walked towards Dylan after his exclamation. “Is everything okay?” she asked. “This is the next day after we jumped from that universe,” Kendra said after seeing the article. “I know that. I remember something. After jumping I think I did not travel straight to this universe. I think I might have traveled to our future,” Dylan was trying to recall what he saw. Kendra bought the picture and the note and showed it to the present Dylan. “I received it today. It stated this was from future you,” Kendra opened the box containing the photo and showed his family to her. The picture was folded and there was another kid holding a puppy at the end of the photo.

Dylan had all kinds of mixed feelings seeing his own future self with kids. He started to have more hope that they are going to return back. “Wait! Is this puppy Rando?” Kendra asked, pointing to that picture. Rando sniffed the photo and barked twice, wagging its tail. “I wonder why all the eyes are blacked out,” Dylan questioned. “Probably, you aren’t supposed to see them until you meet them on your own,” she said. “That might be the case. I do not want any more spoilers,” Dylan laughed. “”But I am glad to know that we will find a way out,” Dylan added.

“You were saying you went to your future. Does it mean, Rando would have jumped simultaneously and went back to the past but to the next day?” Kendra asked “Maybe. I would have probably gone decades ahead and Rando jumped. Probably someone in that house might have figured out a way to open a portal. There are so many theories. We need to keep looking for answers,” Dylan started having hope after so many weeks. “We will find a way back for sure Kendra” he said excitedly. “I wonder if V is doing all right,” Kendra said. “I hope so too,” he said.

Dylan stayed at the guest room in Kendra’s house. The next morning, Dylan got ready and left early. Kendra started to go to work as it was a big day at their company. The whole company was full of people from all over the globe. They were all so excited about the big launch. Some people were standing, others were on the hovering board and moving up and down to check out the details. There were so many seats arranged and a lot of people were seated. Kendra tried getting through the crowd. She showed her ID and people left her space to get near the lab.

“Cibil!” Kendra called her. “Here you are. I thought you might be missing today’s event because of your accident that happened yesterday,” She was concerned. “I am doing great and can’t miss this big event,” Kendra gave a big smile. Kendra and Cibill went and found a seat in the front row that was reserved for them. Kendra was so eager to see what they were planning to launch as it was under wraps. She saw Ray sitting on stage along with Luther and Treyton. It looked like they were brothers more than partners. “They look like brothers,” Kendra said to Cibil. “You are kidding right?” Cibil asked “They are best friends,” she answered. Kendra suspected that there was a strong relation to them. “ Wow! I didn’t actually know that,” Kendra said. “Oh yes, you are seeing them together for the first time right?” Cibil asked. “Yes,” she said and was waiting for the big reveal.

There was a huge display covered with white cloth behind the translucent glass door. They all started giving speeches about the work that they are doing and introduced small products that were for sale and in the market readily available. Ray came in to give a speech. “Hello everybody!” Ray shouted. The whole arena started shouting. “ He must be super famous around here,” Kendra said to Cibil. “Yes, he is,” Cibil said. “He has made a lot of innovations in the past few years and it helped our community big time,” she added. “And even to me, he looks handsome,” Cibil smiled at Kendra. “You are funny,” Kendra said. They both were listening to the speech and somewhere along the lines he said,” In the future, I would like to build similar looking bots with different functionalities,” Ray said. This reminded Kendra of different Rays in Luther’s lab. She was surprised to hear it.

“Next we call upon Dr. Kendra on to the stage for the big reveal.,” Luther announced and gave a little introduction to her. Kendra was shocked as he had no idea she would be called onto the stage. She looked at Cibil and she encouraged her to go. The whole crowd cheered. Kendra got up and stepped towards the stage.
