Introductions

Hugo wandered around the Sanctuary aimlessly, the events of the last couple days had flown by so fast, he'd barely had to time to stop and think.

He tried to take in his new surroundings, but it was hard to concentrate with so much going on. He could hear the laughter and chatter of the other people in the compound, and he felt a strange mix of sadness and joy. He'd been given a new chance at life, but he wasn't sure if he was up to the task of leading a rebellion against the Council.

Just then, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He jumped, startled. It was Mac, and he had a serious look on his face.

"Come with me," Mac said. "We have a meeting to attend."

Hugo followed Mac into a large room filled with all the members of the council. They all seemed to be talking about something important, but Hugo didn't understand what it was about. Eventually, everyone quieted down and the Leader stepped up to speak.

He explained that they were planning an attack on one of the Council's bases - a dangerous mission that would require courage and skill from all of them. He spoke of freedom and justice, of putting an end to the oppressive regime that had taken away their rights.

Hugo listened carefully as the Leader outlined their plans for the mission - it sounded like something out of a movie, and Hugo couldn't believe he was part of it. He looked around the room at the faces of his new comrades - most looked on with respect, though Jack, notably, looked like he'd rather be elsewhere.

The Leader finished his speech and turned to look at Hugo.

"But first, everyone, we have a very important new member to introduce" the Leader gestured to Hugo to stand up and speak.

Hugo, for his part, was apprehensive, he didn't know the people of the sanctuary well, and didn't know how he'd be received. He'd seen a few around the Sanctuary, but hadn't learned who any of them are.

He took a deep breath and stood up, and began to introduce himself. He gave sparce details, hoping to keep to himself and network directly later. He spoke of his past and why he had joined the Sanctuary, and he could feel the eyes of everyone in the room on him.

When he finished, there was a moment of silence before the leader stepped forward and shook Hugo's hand. He welcomed him warmly to the group and said that they were all glad to have him join them in their fight against injustice.

Hugo smiled uneasily, and looked at the eyes around him. They had stood in a wide circle around a planning table like in an old war movie. Hugo counted 6 people in total, 2 women, 3 men, and one that he couldn't quite tell.

The group split off and went to prepare for their next mission, and Hugo followed Mac back to his room. As they walked, Mac put a hand on Hugo's shoulder and said:

"You're going to do great out there, Hugo. You have an important role to play in this fight, and I know you won't let us down."

Hugo looked up at Mac and smiled. He wasn't sure what the future held for him, but he knew one thing for sure - he was ready for whatever came next.
