Chapter 63:

Chapter 63 Wara vs Suzuka

Content of the Magic Box

As Suzuka studied Wara's impressive build, she couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement. Despite her own intimidating presence and aura of bloodlust, she found herself drawn to Wara's raw strength and cool demeanor.

Wara was a seasoned warrior with a keen eye for talent. He could tell just by looking at someone what kind of potential and skill they possessed. So when he saw Suzuka, he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and intimidation. The moment she took her battle stance he knew that she was a true beast.

Wara stood ready, not holding back in the slightest, prepared to give it his all. He had no doubt that the woman in front of him was a formidable opponent, and he wanted to test her strength. As their eyes met, Wara hesitated for a moment, curious about her next move.

Deciding to take the initiative, he taunted her with a smirk, "Well, are you going to attack, or are you just here to admire the view?" Despite his confident exterior, Wara was cautious, knowing that the woman before him was not to be underestimated. He was eager to see how she would respond, fully prepared for whatever came his way.

Suzuka was well aware that Wara was paying her, but she took the opportunity nonetheless. She understood that simply waiting would not get her anywhere. With a sudden burst of energy, she launched herself at Wara, moving with speed and agility. She dropped her body low and leaned forward, taking several quick leaps toward him. In an instant, she was upon him, and with a swift turn of her body, she brought her sword down in a powerful overhead strike.

Despite her speed and skill, Suzuka left herself open to attack, but Wara was not taken in by such an obvious trap. He knew better than to fall for such a ploy and instead chose to guard himself against the attack. With his feet firmly planted on the ground, he raised his sword above his head to block the first strike. He was aware that if he had gone for the opening in Suzuka's stance, he would have been sliced in half. Instead, he maintained his focus and remained calm, ready to defend himself against any further attacks.

Blocking Suzuka's attack was a misstep, and proved to be a poor decision on Wara's part. As the swords collided, Suzuka quickly let go of her blade and used the momentum to deliver a spin-kick to Wara's abdomen.

Suzuka fought with a ferocity that was more akin to that of a wild beast than a human. This was evident in her unique fighting style, which was characterized by its brutal efficiency and lack of concern for traditional swordsmanship etiquette. Suzuka fought with a raw and unrestrained power that made her a formidable opponent.

Wara took the kick and got staggered for a moment. Suzuka took this as an opportunity to say with a smirk, "Guild leader, I wouldn't underestimate your opponent if I were you, no need to go easy on me."

Wara was taken aback by her words, he thought to himself, "Go easy on her? Is she serious or is she taunting me?"

"Yeah, seems I have underestimated you a little," Wara said keeping his cool manner as he was pressing his arm against his hurting abdomen.

Suzuka grasped her sword firmly, off the ground, ready for the next move. Wara took advantage of the pause to regain his composure. The force of Suzuka's previous kick had caught him off guard, but he was determined to be better prepared this time.

"So, what do you say?" Suzuka asked, a challenge evident in her voice. "Shall we continue?"

Wara didn't hesitate, his readiness shining in his eyes. "I'm ready," he said. "No holding back this time."

Wara was now fully aware of Suzuka's skills, both in swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat. He was determined to give it his all.

Wara took the initiative and lunged for an attack, his sword arcing through the air with deadly precision. Suzuka remained calm and collected, her movements mild as she gracefully dodged each strike. Wara's swings were well-calculated and refined, aimed directly at Suzuka's weak spots, but she proved to be difficult to hit.

With a sudden burst of speed, Suzuka countered Wara's attack, the sound of their swords clashing echoing through the training hall. Wara pressed the attack, but Suzuka continued to effortlessly deflect each blow, her sword moving with savage grace. Wara could feel himself becoming frustrated, his breaths coming in ragged gasps.

Just when Wara thought he had the upper hand, Suzuka shifted her weight and caught him off guard with a lightning-fast punch. Wara raised his hand, barely managing to block the attack. He tried to regain his footing, but Suzuka was relentless, her sword a blur as she pressed the attack.

Wara was no slouch he have dwarf blood in his veins, and he is stronger than an average human. Wara was well-versed in hand-to-hand combat, but Suzuka's skill and control were hard to read. She moved with the grace of a raging beast, each strike trying to finish the opponent.

Wara's strength, honed by his dwarf blood, gave him a powerful edge, but it was no match against Suzuka's enhanced body.

Wara and Suzuka faced off, each expertly wielding their swords. Wara was known for his extensive knowledge of sword techniques and it showed as he gracefully moved through the forms. Suzuka was quick, but Wara was quicker, and he managed to disarm her with a well-timed strike.

However, Suzuka was not one to be underestimated. With a fluid motion, she used the momentum from Wara's strike to kick his hand, sending his sword flying from his grasp. The two warriors stood frozen for a moment, each surprised by the other's skill.

Neither of them ran for their swords, instead, they approached each other warily. The only sound in the room was the soft whisper of their breaths as they circled each other, searching for an opening.

Wara was the first to strike, lunging forward with a quick thrust. Suzuka parried the blow and countered with a sweep of her leg, knocking Wara off balance. Suzuka waited with caution, she did not engage and Wara quickly recovered.

The two warriors circled each other, sizing each other up. Wara was the first to strike, swinging a massive fist at Suzuka's head. She nimbly dodged to the side, retaliating with a quick kick to Wara's gut. Wara absorbed the blow, as he lunged forward and grabbed Suzuka by the waist.

Suzuka was quick to respond, though. She twisted out of Wara's grasp and launched a series of rapid punches and kicks at Wara. Wara guarded her onslaught, each hit felt like hammers slamming into him.

The two exchanged blows and counters in a furious dance. Suzuka was in the middle of a heated fistfight with Wara, their fists clashing in a symphony of slams. The two expert warriors were evenly matched. Suddenly, David's comment about the greatness of the fight caught Suzuka's attention for a split second. That brief distraction was all Wara needed, as he quickly launched a punch, connecting his fist with Suzuka's cheek.

Suzuka stopped Wara's punch with her cheek, and as he pulled back his fist, she looked him in the eye with a serious gaze. Wara spoke up, admiring her strength and toughness, "That is enough, I saw everything I needed. You pass too."

The punch Wara delivered cut Suzuka's lip just a tiny bit, and she brushed the blood off with a smirk. "Heh, stopping the fight after first blood? I was just getting warmed up. But fine, you're the boss." Suzuka was not one to hold a grudge, and she respected Wara's decision to end the match.

Wara leaned in towards Suzuka, speaking in a hushed tone, "May I ask where you learned to fight? I see a hint of basic sword techniques, like those taught to city guards, but the rest of your fighting style is like that of a wild beast. No offense intended, of course." Suzuka chuckled and stepped closer to Wara, "Spend a year training with a minotaur, and you too will fight like a beast."

Wara asked, surprised, "A minotaur?"

Suzuka replied, "Yes, he taught me how to fight. Actually, the minotaur gave me shelter when I was lost in the forest. If it weren't for Thomas and his party, who showed me the way and escorted me back to this town, I would still be listening to the old grumpy minotaur's complaints."

Wara's eyes widened, "Oh, I know what you mean, I had a friend, a minotaur friend."

Suzuka spoke with a relaxed tone as she mentioned, "I recall Bill the Minotaur mentioning a leader by the name of Wara or The Viking. He told me that he was part of a party led by this person. And, if I'm not mistaken, I believe that's you." She had pieced together the information from her conversation with Bill and was confident in her identification of the person she was speaking to.

Wara was taken aback upon hearing Bill's name mentioned. "Bill? I thought he was long gone. It's been years since we went our separate ways, and I haven't heard a peep from him. How is he doing?" He asked with a mix of surprise and concern. The thought of encountering an old acquaintance from his adventuring days was unexpected.

Suzuka replied to Wara's inquiry about Bill, "Well, he is doing fine, fine enough to bring down a castle full of goblins."

"Yeah, he would do that," Wara said.

Suzuka looked around and noticed it was getting dark soon then said to Wara, "I would really talk more but I need to hurry, I am in a bit of a tight situation. If it's okay I would like to get back to Lisanna and finish the registration."

Wara let out a small chuckle and said, "Not so fast, I need to see your magic box power. Don't worry, it won't take long. See those practice dummies over there? All I need you to do is destroy them using your magical powers. Of course, if your magic is meant for the offense."

Suzuka was in a hurry and didn't waste any time. She focused her mana and extended her arm toward the dummies. With a firm voice, she cast her spell and shouted, "Gravity Grip!" The dummies were enveloped in a dark, misty shadow, and with a quick squeeze of her hand, Suzuka crushed them into tiny pieces. Her display of power was quick and efficient.

Wara spoke in a slightly surprised tone, "Well, that's certainly a novel occurrence. I must say, I haven't encountered this power before. Nonetheless, let's set it aside for now. You may go, and we can discuss personal matters at a more appropriate time. Also, Helen, welcome to my guild I expect great things from you." With a polite nod, Wara signaled for her to leave, clearly indicating that the conversation was over.

Despite the unexpected turn of events, Wara maintained a composed demeanor, exuding confidence and professionalism. It was evident that they were experienced in handling all types of situations within the guild.

Suzuka gracefully turned on her heels and strode towards the entrance of the guild building. David, who had been sitting quietly in the corner, quickly gathered himself and followed closely behind her.

Despite his desire to be near her, David was shy and reserved around women, often pursuing those who he deemed unattainable, fully aware of the fact that he would likely not succeed in forming a relationship with them.

He had a reputation among women as "The Nice Guy", but his approach to relationships was often viewed as strange and off-putting. Nevertheless, David continued to follow Suzuka, hoping to find the courage to strike up a conversation and maybe, just maybe, make a connection. But his ultimate goal wasn't Suzuka, he was after...
