Chapter 21:

May you Forget: Xadulo's Rage

Heartless

Xadulo was still in the Human world, but can’t find Pablo. She summoned Carnelia, instructed her to tell everyone else to stay put, then summoned her again. It was almost noon, but the sky started to darken. Soon after, a light rain started. The two started their search around the place.

The game began. The first thing Pablo did was hop repetitively backwards. He went away fast. The merchant questioned that move, then started following him in high speed. When the merchant was following up, Pablo then jumped high, and when an imaginary line was to connect them, they’d create a perfect vertical line. Pablo then threw his spear at that moment, and the spear went through his spine.

Xadulo asked by force the remaining alive merchants if there was a secret base or a fellow who had flee. She even had to took the heart of one of the remaining just to convince him to say it. After telling Xadulo the secret base, the last merchant’s heart was also stolen. Just as Xadulo had it in her hands, she also just threw it immediately. She and Carnelia then rushed to the told secret base.

Pablo landed, and the merchant isn’t dead yet. But his pain was showing all over his whole existence, screaming loudly. Pablo grabbed him by the hair and said, “Remove your control as default user. If this is my subconscious mind, but you’re in control of it, that means neither of us can die here. And if you refuse to give back my lucid dream, we’ll be stuck here forever.” Pablo started pulling the spear slowly, on purpose. “If we’ll be stuck here forever, then I can’t go back to her, and you can’t go try and kill her. Everything will be boring again,” Pablo said. The merchant was screaming so much in pain that Pablo isn’t even sure if his messages reach him. All a sudden, the dream was in his control.

Xadulo and Carnelia arrived at the base. The rain started falling heavier. The base was underground, and in each step, the surrounding gets darker. Xadulo lit up a fire in the tip of his hair strand as light. When they reached the bottom, they can barely see anything. But they didn’t need light just to search for Pablo. “…he isn’t here,” Xadulo said. “What?”, “There is no hearts here that beat to read. No one’s here”. The sound of the rain reached the very bottom.

After Pablo got the control over the dream, he quickly disregarded it. He found himself lying, in a forest. The merchant was also close to him, also lying, but he was still wearing the pained look. Pablo felt pity, so he ended the merchant’s life using the sharp stick he found, “I can’t let you block my path, anyways”. He started roaming around, and found that he was unfamiliar with the place. He was also unsure if he was in the Human world, or the Wander world. “Xadulo did said that a conscious mind can’t carelessly travel back… but I’m not sure if that dude changed my world-set,” he muttered to himself.

Carnelia flew up high to look from above. The thick tree leaves were a trick for her, so she had to split with Xadulo in searching. After a while, neither of them found him anywhere. They reunited. The rain stopped, but the sky was still dimmed. Xadulo was furious of what the merchants did to the six of them. It even makes her more mad thinking the merchants were simply humans. Upon her rage, she created a spell. She drew it on the ground, and made the incantation. The spell consisted of ‘all-forgetting’, a spell that makes all humans forget about the specie of necromancers. Carnelia just watched, because she didn’t know if chanting it was the right thing to do.

Pablo finally found a road. He didn’t know where it would lead to. Trying to go to the other world won’t work since currently, his place isn’t somewhere artificial structures are made. Means even if he tried, it would be pointless. He walked for several minutes, but couldn’t find a village. He was between the choice of using all his energy and run, or continue the slow process of walking to conserve his energy.

Raging Xadulo started the incantation, and there is no going back anymore. The circle lines glowed, and the ground shook. The soil cracked despite being wet. Xadulo shouted. “How dare they hurt my friends!” the ground shook even greater that Carnelia couldn’t control her balance and fell. She knew Xadulo is going crazy, but couldn’t stop her either.

Pablo felt the quake for a bit, and saw a light from a certain point. He didn’t know what was there. It might even kill him, but it might be hint for people. He rushed there, as fast as he can.

A force started circulating the circle. It goes faster and faster that it created a cloud like thing around it. The cloud gets thicker and thicker that it creates a smoke screen. The wind blew, and the fog spread really fast. “Shall you forget what you have done, and nothing will be forgiven. But the forgotten can never be noticed again, and will forever be ignored. May you forget!”
