Chapter 4:

Chapter 04 The Soda Can

Kobito no Otoko - Dwarf Man

Even if it was only for a brief moment, the woman took a good look at Koji. He was slightly smaller than a soda can, with a dark brown beard and hair. He was wearing a self-made trucker hat and a dark grey suit that looked business-like. In her eyes, he looked tiny and cute.

As Koji hid behind the potato chips, his heart was pounding in his chest. He had never felt such intense emotions before, even after years of watching beautiful women pass by his vending machine home. The woman's image lingered in his mind, her yellow eyes and soft lips, and her dark red dress. He couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to see her again.

Her soft, gentle voice disrupted Koji's thoughts. "Hello there, little fairy," she said. "Please don't hide from me. Come out. I won't tell a soul about you. You don't need to worry about anything." The romantic tone in her voice sent Koji's heart racing even faster, and he felt a sudden rush of courage to show himself to her.

The woman's eyes wandered around the vending machine, hoping to catch a glimpse of the mysterious little man. Suddenly, the bag of potato chips moved, and to her surprise, Koji hesitantly showed himself from his hiding spot. As their eyes met, a warm feeling spread through both of them.

Koji's heart fluttered as he timidly revealed himself to the beautiful woman. Despite his lack of social skills, he managed to stammer out, "I'm not a fairy, I'm Kobito no Otoko. Fairies are just a made-up thing from America. My name is Koji, Koji Yuji." He quickly burst into a blush.

As Koji made his anti-social introduction, the woman couldn't help but let out a soft, charming giggle at his remark about fairies and Americans. She then introduced herself with a warm smile, "Hello there, little Kobito no Otoko, my name is Ayumi. Nice to meet you, also, thanks for the help with the soda can."

Koji stuttered a bit as he responded to Ayumi, "Th-th-this is my vending machine. I-it's only natural that I provide for my customers. S-soda cans getting stuck puts dirt on my face."

The woman said with a soft smile, "You did help me a lot, that was the last of my money. It was really hard for the past few months, if you hadn't done what you did, I may have not reached home today. This miracle helped me to find the strength to keep going for at least a few more days." Her eyes become teary as she spoke.
